My only question is about time and health. When you lived below your means, and spent a lot of time commuting, were you able to consistently eat healthy and avoid fast food and junk food? If so, how did you do it?

I started using a sim before starting my flight training and i definitely had some bad habits. Mostly with not looking outside of the plane and just trying to fly based on my instruments because its how i flew in the sim. I thought that if i learned how to fly using my glass cockpit i would be so much better than other people but my instructor showed me how much I kept getting behind the plane instead of infront of it. I was slow to react due to waiting for information from my gauges. I was reactive instead of proactive. It was really incredible to see how i was training improperly but now i do a flight and take what i learn to the simulator to practice those same manuevers in the way my instructor teaches. I think the simulator is great but only if used properly

I really enjoyed listening to your story. Im 31 and just now starting my flight training, its a little late but better late than never right? I really like the fact that you talked about how scared you were going from the simulator to actually flying because i too feel like that and many pilots I've talked to say they weren't scared at all which made me nervous that i couldnt do it because i felt fear where they didnt. So i appreciate you mentioning that. For me, most of the fear is during the take off role where youre really getting sucked into your seat before becoming airborne but once my wheels are off the ground its like the fear completely vanishes. Im not real far into my flight training and i moved back home with my parents so its not such a financial burden. Will definitely be subscribing to hear more stories. Best of luck to you and everyone else on their journey to the skies! ✈️

Michael … excellent video my friend … here are my thoughts … debt=slavery … debt free=freedom, freedom, freedom … You chose well. Life is not about math. Life is about quality. … This is coming from a guy that IS debt free, lives a very high quality life with little stress and has EVERYTHING he needs and EVERYTHING he wants. … at your age the ‘millions’ you talk about making you will be able to keep … excellent decision! You will NEVER regret not being a slave. …. ‘’The borrower is slave to the lender.”

You mentioned links for cadet programs and scholarships? I’m a 30 something disabled (non disqualifying disability for pilot license) student, graduating top of my class next month with my associate of science in computer science and accepted to a data science bachelor program after dropping out of high school, but have always had a passion for flying since childhood. Recently I’ve been seeing so many single engine aircraft videos in my feed, it’s encouraging me to look into getting my pilots license but I have no idea where to start considering I’m not working and don’t have the funds… I haven’t even wanted to ask around because I’m embarrassed people will laugh at me for even asking

Fly as a virtual pilot on VATSIM. If you're nervous about that too, go through the written-test training process for virtual ATC on VATSIM. It takes a bit of study, but will help you understand that ATC is nothing to fear. However, accidental rule-breaking can still get you into trouble, when you don't have an emergency.
