The Biggest Problem with Wi-Fi Doorbell Cameras
มุมมอง 279 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video I give a hot tip on how to stop your doorbell camera batteries from freezing. How to Change Wifi on the Nest Doorbell
มุมมอง 93Kปีที่แล้ว
To change the wifi on the google nest doorbell, you factory reset the doorbell, remove from the google home app, then add back as a new device.
How To Change WiFi On Nest Cameras
มุมมอง 108Kปีที่แล้ว
To change the wifi the nest cams connect to you have to factory reset them. What you'll need: Nest Cam magnetic plate Charging cable (plugged in) QR code Pen, paperclip, small screwdriver, etc Phone with google home app Remove the camera from the moutning plate and press and hold the reset button on the back for 12 seconds. After 12 seconds the camera will make a jingle. Keep holding the button...
This is the most ridiculous way to change the password ever from a billion dollar company like Google…. Seriously they should just let us change the password on the app like everything else in this world…
can i connect this thing to my chrome book ???
You can probably get the google home app where you can see the camera on your chromebook.
I wouldn’t have been able to set it up without your help. Even though it’s past hard steps to do it you made it incredibly easy. Thank you so much I am preparing for the hurricane and it is past 2:00 am but my husband and I did it!
Please stay safe and Godspeed.
This didn't work for my doorbell that's wired
🤔
Thank you so much. Would never have known about resetting it first. Especially that tiny little opening. Thanks again, you’re a lifesaver.
Thanks for sharing
bro you really need apple to e transfer you mad cash cause this video was absolutely phenomenal thank you so much i was so stuck and watched other things read reviews. this is the only professional solution.
Thanks to you I managed to get my camera working again 👌 Thanks again 🙏
Dude, you saved my Wi-Fi connections again! Thanks! I used your tutorial, when I replaced the Wi-Fi router less than a month ago, Then after going round and round with cable company for a week, finally convinced them their router was the problem! By then, I was so mad, and ready to quit them! But got new Wi-Fi router, then realized I had to set everything up all over again. But thanks to your instructional video, I was up and running in 30 minutes! Except this time, I am gonna write the steps down!😂
This Will erase all the data tho
Great video and very helpful thanks

This is awesome tutorial….but tell me why we need to dismantle these cameras and do all of these steps to simply change the wifi. It’s ridiculous.
I don’t understand why Google over-complicates everything. You should be able to update your WiFi in Google Home only, and all devices will be automatically reset. I had to factory reset every speaker, every hub, and doorbell. I don’t find this “smart” technology to be smart at all.
Well done. After I changed my Wi-Fi router I struggled with online setup documentation that was not very explanatory and glossed over some key steps. With this video I just sat there with camera at my side and did it step by step with the video. Worked Flawlessly. Kudos !!
Thank you so much! We upgraded our internet and haven't been able to figure out how to put our doorbell back on for months, because the Google setup instructions don't have half that stuff on there we needed to do.
What if it never connects to the WiFi? When connecting to a joining device it tells me something went wrong
I would try from a different device if you can. You can also restart the device, manually turn off bluetooth before you try to connect, etc.
I agree with @fabmora22 completely. The Home app was of no use and nothing else I could bring up online (on my laptop) was either. This video was very clear, both in images and in spoken instructions, telling us exactly what we need to know without any over-technical talk. And yes, it does seem like a lot of steps just because of a wifi network change, but this video cut through all that with excellent instructions. Thank you!
Yeah Google will do it if you join their membership for $66 not doing that if not it's 100
Oh boy here I go trying to do it y'all got me worried now
The only one on TH-cam that fixed my issue. Thank you
Honestly thank you so much for this you have no idea moved house 3 times in the past five years and your video is the only one on the entire net that explains and solves this irritating problem
My router went out and had to be replaced. you would think it would be easier to reconnect all my devices. This is ridiculous.
Appreciate this!
After long struggles, I found the correct video. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
Everything is fine until I get to the part where I select the wifi and input password...it's not able to connect to the wifi network even though my phone is connected to it and the signal is strong :(. Anyone else with this issue?
I am having the same issue. I read the google thread and it's so many people having the same issue
I had to reset it, once I poked it with the needle i did step by step and it worked like a charm.
Got mine working again today thanks for making this video
Do you have a video that shows us how to reset Google lights?
I do not, but I might have to make one soon!
After 2 weeks of frustration and almost paying $59 for a technician to come out, I found this video and guess what ?? I saved $59😁😁😁
Omg are you kidding me?? One of my cameras is WAY up on top of my house!! I have to friggin hire someone to take the camera down just because my cable company updated my modem & router!!! This is absurd, since when do you have to completely remove & reinstall a device because you change WiFi. And having to physically reset the device?? I'm super annoyed...
Mny of these cams aren't detected by the google home or next app after factory resetting even though there is a slow flashing blue light. Sometimes if comes up after several reset attempts. Definitely the worse camera re-setup from the big names I've seen.
How you got gloves on but your screen still hella greasy?
💀
Again thankyou! Your videos helped a lot!
Thankyou so much!! Was doing my head in trying to find that button
What if it won’t let me connect them? I have two nests and can’t do anything rn my camera won’t pair me with the wifi
What does it say when you try to connect them?
Ya so im getting the ladder out rn f google low tech ui
Thanks for the help out of all the videos your the only one that worked ,everyone else seems to ignore the chime sound
Thank you
WHAT A PAIN!
thank you ! thank you! so clear!
I moved to a new home and have a new router. I removed the device from Google Home then tried to reconnect. I have done the hard reset about 5 times and tried to set up device. Each time Google Home says, “Something went wrong.” and I my only option is to Exit Setup. Any ideas why my doorbell doesn’t connect anymore?
Make sure both wifi and bluetooth are enabled, and your phone is connected to the router. I would reboot the phone and see if the problem persists. If it does, sign in to your google home on another family member's phone (if you can) and try to add it from that device. If all devices connected to your wifi network on that router have the same issue, sign in to your router's management portal and check your firewall rules. If your router says "Nighthawk" on it, consider returning it for a better one. Good luck!
I have the same issue let me know if it works for you
@@michellejimenezalvarez6420 I never was able to get the two to connect. After multiple resets and software reloads I ended up purchasing a Ring doorbell since I already had a Ring camera, and installing that. My Ring setup was simple, about 5 minutes, and went without any problems. I don’t know why but my IPhone and the Nest just could not communicate.
Thanks for the video! Would love to be able to change wifi while the cameras are online but they aint that smart :/ Dump AF you need to demount the cameras outdoors and the maunt it self to be able to change the damn wifi.. :/
Sent your video to the person who was supposedly helping me from Google, hopefully they’ll learn from you😓
THIS VIDEO WAS A LIFE SAVER!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! The videos Google have and articles were in no way helpful. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Thanks mate!
Thank you very much helpd me to much 🙏❤
Thank you! Thank you! I spent FRUSTRATING HOURS trying to reset based on Google's so-called help! Ugh! They never mentioned a jingle wtf? I owe you big time!
Wayyyyyy too complicated. VERY difficult to follow and a Stone Age set up process. Throwing ours away
i painted my nestcam and cant see the code and dont have qr code, now what
Now you call and try to get a refund. You might get lucky and have the setup code be the last 6 characters of the camera's mac address, but I'm just grasping at straws here.
Very helpful video that solved my problems after hours of other attempts! Thank you!
Very, very helpful! Thank you!
