Cinema Sins wouldn't bother me so much if they called themselves "Cinema Nitpicks" or something. The thing they do where they just note down every little thing they don't like about in a movie in order, even if it's explained later or in a related piece of media, has to be the laziest form of media criticism out there. Especially with something like Saw, which is ostensibly a mystery story where you figure the plot out slowly though the course of the movie/series. The WHOLE POINT is that not everything is explained immediately, and in what way would, for instance, knowing that Gordon was alive before the reveal improve the movie? It wouldn't, obviously.

Actually, Jeremy is right about the immunity thing. Cops are can't offer immunity or make promises of leniency when it comes to jailtime or legal ramifications. That is part of the Judicial branch of the law, the cops are in the Executive branch. He also can't offer her anything without first verifying her information. You can't just say "I want to not go to jail, please" and the cop says "yeah sure." and then you confess everything. There's, like, laws and stuff.

I have a theory that John's competition traps were influenced by Hoffman, because Hoffman used them far far more, and they betray the core values in Jigsaws philosophy from the first and second film. By the time Jigsaw was seen in 3, he could have had a lot of potential brain damage from Eric's beating compounded by his brain tumor. With Hoffman taking over behind the scenes, and the first competition traps being featured heavily in 4, which is Hoffman's first official game he set up himself to recruit Rigg, it's not far fetched to believe these are by his design following John's needs. Consider the eventual personal vendetta side of the games that 6 and 7 seem to have, despite this not being in John's philosophy either as seen in JIGSAW, and you can conclude that the overwhelming evil the games 4-7 have, as well as the violence on display, is Hoffman's doing. He was the one who preferred to punish, not save. I think this one is very plausible, the only outlier being Saw X, which seems to reinforce that John didn't learn anything from the events of the Barn Game and continued to levy vengeance even if it wasn't super personal, and he was punishing a group of people who scammed a lot of people. What do you think?

Hoffman didn't know Gordon was working with Jigsaw, that's why he was confused when he showed up at the end

Didn’t really see it in the video , but there’s some lost footage out there, where Amanda wakes up in a dream and sees the ghost of Adam in a hallucination and Adam is yelling “how could you do this to me” and “dumb bitch” somewhat in the end, she wakes up and is comforted by John, Amanda then puts Adam out of his misery in the bathroom after the hallucinations, but this never made it to the Final Cut.

Not really a theory but i feel like with the first two movies the victims of the traps have really petty reasons for being there so that the viewers can’t side with or sympathize with jigsaw. Kinda thrown out the window later on but idk

The Glass theory actually makes a twisted sense to me. Not only does Glass succeed in creating a charismatic supervillain who inherits his ideology of trauma-based superpowers, we can see in action how Kramer's charismatic ideology is passed onto a legacy of killers who follow his work even many years after his death.
