Thanks for posting this. This is amazing... the size and scope of it. The length of the trains are very impressive.
Nice catch of the old PRR position light signal "dropping" from CLEAR to a STOP position. Never actually saw one functioning before. What was that clicked clack sound? It sounds like the train was crossing a diamond or something similar. Heard about signals in operation somewhere at a diamond on the WNY&P. Unsure of where, though.
When this video was made gasoline was under $3.🚂💰⛽️😳
I'm a tram and I approve this video!!!!
Narrationless videos are of little value. Exactly where are we; where are we going; what are we passing?
A two track road. What a concept.
You're going up the Lehigh Gorge.
yes, Thank you for that !
Alaboard!,0:17
The only railroad that ran into Manhattan from NJ was the PRR, now Amtrak. No diesels are permitted into Manhattan, electrics or dual modes must be used because of the tunnels and underground Penn Station. All other railroads like CNJ, LV, DL&W, Erie, etc. had terminals in NJ along the Hudson. Only the DL&W Hoboken terminal is still used as a NJ Transit station.

nice video and great catch of the Amtrak hearitadge unit leaving Rochester.
you should have a map for I get confused on what was the Le high Valley and the Cen of NJ/I thought a lot of the He high was torn up over the years but its hard to believe iin 1968 the Cen of NJ wouldnot let Ross Roweland run West Jim Thorp sighting the weight of the NKP 759 but just a few weeks ago 2015 the 765 ran West o jim Thorp dow on the Millersvile line they used a 0-6-0 and diesel that track was in poor shape
Two locomotives for two passenger cars.
I think the FLGK doesn't have turning facilities at the ends of the excursion run (either run arounds or wyes) so it would be more convenient to have a locomotive at either end.
The Lehigh Valley did NOT run into New York City.
wicky201 Yes it did, the LVRR had tracks in NYC that were reached by car floats from Washington Street in Jersey City and their passenger trains entered Penn Station via the PPR after leaving the LV mainline at NK Tower.
this is the d&H? why is it all ns trains?
Nice! Remember me? We met in altoona
Rest of the video is amazing also. Like how you caught the new or repainted CP 5698. That one bell on that one CP Train also did sound like the bell's on an Ice Cream Truck.
Amazing shot of the CP going over the Viaduct in Kingsley. What Rd. was that Viaduct sjot filmed from?
@away360 this is a verry easy chase from clifton too shortsville go too my channel i chased the santa clause train last year
Wow! The turn at 4:12 is really tight, those cars must be struggling to make it through.
That's a pretty darn cool surprise! Awesome night video 'n catch!
susquehanna doesn't run trains through belden anymore?
susquehanna doesn't run trains through belden anymore
@toolengnh the road is actually called Tunnel Rd. You can access it off of NY 7.
Nice work, I enjoyed watching it. BTW, which town and road is that where you did the tunnel filming? Thanks! -Gary
@McLovin0249er oh cool thanks for letting me know..i love these units..back when CP still ad them they would be in the CSX yard or down by the water front...in Philly...i saw a few vid's and these units were in some of the shots..great vid!..keep it up!!
yes. I informed the 626 engineer and he told the yard master.
Did you call him in?
Pretty short train, I hope you reported this moron to the railroad police. What did he say to you anyway?
WOW!!! Friggin awesome!
Nice Job!!!
Awesome job!!
That was just plain awesome!
Going west on 49 tonight!
Wow! This is EXACTLY what I was looking for, a dash 7 paired with an ALCo since they sound similar1 I love it! Thanks!
whats the second unit in the consit? is tht another M636 or an MLW M630..i know its an ex cp rail unit..but it has the bulge just before the rear radiator section..very cool vid..keep up the awsome work!!!
Nice Job!
That's an epic catch/set of power DANG! Awesome, awesome video!!
This unit has recently been identified as an ex D7H unit that came thru the SBRR.
Betcha he's from Arizona! Poor idiot probably hasn't seen a snowflake in his life!
I was wondering what that Q162 had...we came over the hill on Townline Road and saw containers cruising east.
Great video! Always enjoy seeing your work from my hometown! As a side note, the last train was K679,
nice catches warbonnets and k641
i almost got hit by the train last yr near hallstead.... he was goin faster then that though...
@aerobee58 Her number is #420 LA&L C-420
Excellent vid!!Definetly ALCO power.Do you know off-hand if Ex LIRR #200 C-420 is still operating on the LA&L?If you get any vids of it I would love to see her. There is just a few of them left. Thanks
Very nice video. What time of day did you take this?
Its always refreshing to see a railroad that still runs old Alcos. Even though they are well over 40 years old they still run great.
Its *one* Alco and one GE B23-7! ;) not "Alco's" plural..there is only one Alco in this video. the Alco RS3 number 8223 is not owned by Finger Lakes Railway, it was visiting from the Adirondack Scenic Railroad..the GE B23-7 *is* a FGLK loco. awesome video! :) I missed the RS3 when she was in the neighborhood. :( Scot
@elirosen1391 about 3-5 depending on the time and day, sometimes 6 on the longer days
