Cooper Overhauls a Cooper-Bessemer C7S Compressor Cylinder

A C7S process compressor arrived in our Houston headquarters for an overhaul. This 40,000 lb. Cooper-Bessemer compressor is the largest cylinder ever produced by Cooper with a diameter range of 39.25” to 44”. This particular cylinder runs on a Cooper-Bessemer LM-10 electric motor driven frame rated 10,000 horsepower.

I worked at a natural gas compressor station in South FL in the early 90's we had a Cooper Bessemer V12 twin turbocharged engine, it was a beast.
