Better than the 1997 movie. Good story line. Best of the 1997 movie was the nostalgia felt in the beginning and the end of the movie.

Would be cool if they brought it all up in pieces all on a massive barge and then brought it back like this. You could still have the same ceremony also. That would be super epic! Starts a new trend with warships and planes this way! All ya need is some govt funding….

If I remember correctly, in the novel a young crew member asks the captain about all the hype over an old derelict ship and he responds with something to the effect of: "Son, that's a ship coming into port on her maiden voyage." Makes me cry every time.

This film started a huge row with my mother-in-law, who is not bright, she insisted that this was real and she went so far As to claim that she visited it. She insisted on this to her dying day and no amount of real footage of the wreck could persuade her.

The soundtrack to this movie is so haunting it's one things I love about this movie besides the story.What can I say about the great Charlton Heston that hasn't already been said great movie just love it.

She finally made it...

Clive Cussler's novel is a great read. Involving American miners on a remote island in the Arctic. The Titanic sinking with a mysterious but valuable cargo. Sinister Russian KGB agents. Fascinating details of how they actually raised the ship. And even a plot line involving an early version of the "Star Wars" missile defense system!

Actually saw this in a downtown LA Cinema, summer '71, new release. The twin Bank of America and ARCO towers were finally completed and opened in 1972.

Man when I first saw this movie when I was just a little kid was awesome and seeing this scene when they towed the Titanic into New York harbor was absolutely heart touching especially seeing all of New York turn out to see her was especially awesome it was so great it actually brought tears to my eyes seeing the great ship finish her maiden voyage nearly 70 years after she set out this movie was a great tribute to the ship and a great way to remember her and a great tribute to the people who worked on it great job guys.
