I had several of the Tonkas in your collection. I wish i still had them. I have to watch the rest of the video when i get back. I'm at 11 min.
@@SebastianLong thank you for watching! There are tons of them out there it’s never too late 🙂
I love Tonka, but i would love to see a video on all of your Ertl farm toys.
@@avgjoeavglife yes I will definitely squeeze them in an upcoming video🙂 this is actually the second request hahaha i will do it soon 😃
@@avgjoeavglife thanks for watching too! 🙂
12:54 I just happened to find this at a thrift store in my area a few months ago.
Awesome! I picked up mine at a local antique mall for $10 which is cheap for a Ryder truck
It's so handy with small tonkas. you can have a big collection in a small space I recently got a small Tonka Coca-Cola transport truck an 8 out of10 in condition for 30 dollars.any time you find a Tonka or buddy l or marks or metal craft trucks with advertising on it for cheap price you had a good day
Yes the tiny Tonkas are fun because most are pretty affordable and like you said they don’t take up a lot of space. That’s what made them so popular when they were introduced in 68. I have a buddy L Coke and a Pepsi set. I love the 70s buddy L brutes which are the tiny Tonka equivalent. They made a lot of cool ones that Tonka didn’t
Awesome video of this new collection that you have. Love the way you playing the way you're excited about your channel.
@@LuisUrbieta thanks so much! And thank you for watching! That means a lot. Yes I love these toys and when others are inspired by my videos it keeps me inspired
Do you have the Chrome 25th anniversary dump truck
@@fosterbaird6055 yes I do. Here’s the link to the video 🙂 th-cam.com/video/1wV__tE6SUg/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
AWESOME! Cool trucks! I love it👍🙏🔥💪❤️🇺🇸
@@RABSTRAINS thanks for watching! I dug out my train set too the other day! 😃
@@mightytonkamadness AWESOME! I hope you set it up and have fun with it👍👍💪
@@RABSTRAINS yes just trying to find a good spot for it 🙂
@@mightytonkamadness there are a ton of great train channels on TH-cam. Some have invested a lot of money other’s like me are more basic compared to some layouts that are extravagant. The model train community is a pretty good group and always willing to help.
@@mightytonkamadness just have fun with it. Look out you will have two hobbies TONKA and model trains.💪💪🙏🔥❤️🤪
Hi this is Allen from westlock Alberta Canada how are you I got the 6 wheel backhoe mine is a darker green and my track backhoe is identical except the decal is a red oval I paid 170 plus 56 for shipping very nice shape was hard to find a nice one also mine has both yellow rubber handles anyway take care
@@allenwoycechowsky1297 hi Allen thanks for watching! Oh that’s cool you have the first year crawler backhoe. Even more impressive to get one up in Canada. I know how hard it can be to find things local up there from some friends and how expensive it can be to ship.
Sweet diggers .I see you have some ertl John deer tractors to . I no that hot wheels matchbox and majorette all so maid small construction toys to do you collect those to like me
@@sylvainburelle9102 thank you! Yes the ertl stuff is from childhood. All late 80s thru early 2000s. No i haven’t gotten into matchbox and wheels. I do have a few random vintage ones but nothing crazy. My son has hundreds of new ones but nothing vintage. The only thing I have are tonka, ertl, and a handful of buddy L brutes which are equivalent to a tiny tonka. They are cool
@@mightytonkamadness cool my metal trucks are tonkas or buddy l trucks to of all the trucks I had the weird is one I've had was a medium Tonka chicken transport truck it had 3 chicken in their nest and When the trailer moved the nest would move up and down it was quite a find I also have ho scale model trains to toys are a fun hobbie to collect. 🚜🚂🚃🚃
@@sylvainburelle9102 I have never heard of the chicken truck I’ll have to look that up. Yes I actually just dug out my 027 gauge train set too. I always loved toy trains.
@@mightytonkamadness the chicken transport truck was either a Tonka or a buddy truck I can't remember.
@@mightytonkamadness Oh, I love trains too - I have several Marx O gauge train sets - and a Lionel set from 1946 on the way!
The first Mighty Backhoe you have is exactly like mine! That’s actually an ‘84-‘88, the ‘83 ones had a locking mechanism for the arm, similar to the Crawler Backhoe.
@@davydigger708 yes you’re right I forgot to mention the early ones with the locking mechanism. The catalogs show it in 83-88 but you almost never see one with it. Forgot all about it 🤦♂️🙂
@@davydigger708 Tonka was also bad at changing photos sometimes so I’ll have to look into the years they had the lock
@@mightytonkamadness The catalog pictures are incorrect - only the 83's had it, but Tonka never bothered to change the catalog picture until 1989!
@@mightytonkamadness I did the research already - it took a while, but it appears that only the '83 had it. There is also another variation of the '83 that had MR-970 tires as opposed to XMB-975 (probably an early run or using leftover parts).
@@davydigger708 I’ve seen some mixers of that era with MR 970 tires as well. At first I thought it was custom but then I saw multiple like that so maybe it was a thing in the 83s. They look weird with them though. Too small
You don't have the big Tonka Track Loader like i used to have
Oh really? I have a bunch of track loaders and trenchers. Maybe I didn’t show it. Do you know approximately around what year it would be?
Again, Tonka called these “backhoes”, because the term was originally used to refer to excavators configured to dig in a backwards motion (as opposed to a shovel which does so with a forward motion), before it was used as a shorter term for a backhoe loader.
YAYYYYY!!!!!!! Best video yet!!!!!!!!
@@davydigger708 YES!!!! 😃thanks for watching! I love that crawler backhoe!!
I want one too!
Was this from eBay? There is one I was looking at for months, and it recently disappeared, and this looks like it…
@@davydigger708 no this one came from gasoline alley toys and antiques in Wisconsin
@@davydigger708 we all need one! Hahahaha
@ 26:32 I had one of those 1974 Winnebago RVs back when it was new... what memories
Yes the Winnebagos are awesome! A very popular toy amongst collectors!
if Dom Toretto was a construction worker he would be in the Red Tonka Dump Truck 😂
😄😄
No offense but those action figures are CREEPY
@@coltongarber8087 the tonka action figures are SUPER CREEPY hahaha they look like mini ventriloquists dolls 😅

@@Thevacomaticvacuumcorner of course 😄 I don’t bring them out in the dirt or anything but I definitely play with them when they come off the shelves for videos and I’m actually planning on making some special videos soon of some playtime with my boys. Just need to find the right rug 😃
@@mightytonkamadness of course i figured i collect die cast cars and trucks and they do come out on the rug not outside
@@mightytonkamadness i do have the bruder toys flat bed tow truck and crane on the way 1 /16 scale
@@Thevacomaticvacuumcorner great! Ya toys are just too fun not to play with hahaha it’s good for the soul. And I’ve watched Toy Story too many times and have convinced myself that they get bored if you don’t play with them hahaha
@@Thevacomaticvacuumcorner oh cool they make nice toys too. I don’t have any but thought about getting them for my sons. If you noticed in my video I do have 1/16 and 1/64 scale ertl toys too from my childhood. They are fun
What are these modes based off of? Too bad these Tonka models are no longer made today the big ones!
@@LuisUrbieta agreed! Most Tonka designs were loosely based on equipment of the original design time period and then of course modified for ease of the stamping process I’m sure
@@mightytonkamadnessBut are these models based off any prototype? By modern standards standards these models are not as cool & I'd like to see some current Tonka models.
@@LuisUrbieta I only collect vintage Tonkas from the early 2000s and older. Most new tonka toys are just all plastic and not as cool for my tastes. Though they did just release some new throwbacks with some awesome retro boxes that i plan to get soon from the Tonka Steel Classics line.
@@mightytonkamadness yeah I feel like the new Tonka toys are just not as cool today but also they don't have a lot of metal like the older ones.
@@LuisUrbieta for sure! They are still pretty rugged by they just don’t have the character of the old ones
Nice
@@rodneycody8746 thanks for watching!
Do they still build Tonka toy's?
@@stanleybaker8707 they do but with lots of plastic. They are still a cool and rugged toy but nothing like the originals.
Wow

Thats so cool! Is there some kind of website that lists all the tonka models and years ever made? Ive been looking for a website like this for many years but never found any good ones
@@geremipineault308 thank you! If you look at my newest video I talk about all the books out there to help identify them. And Facebook groups are another good place. There used to be websites but they’ve since been taken down because the owner passed away over the winter. I have links to them from a web archive posted in my facebook group called “Tonka, Nylint, Structo, Buddy L, and all metal toys Collector Group”
