Is this colony dead now?
Aren't these bull ants?
Yes
How do you only have 260 subs bro you deserve more! u earned a sub btw!
gde su novi videi
Spraking of lazarus, my brother once said it,”Lazarh ist 🤣 Instead of lazir ist 😂
Lights are hella cool in a nest, hella lucky
Every nest is awesome. Any will do 👏 Just make sure the doorways and pvc tubings fit the larger ants
I love how there are other people also interested in ants, would you like to be friends as I am also a small ant hobbyist?
Scarlet doesn’t need to rehoused yet. Give her an out world when she has 50 For exploration. Yea yea 2mon ago.
Everybody gangster till the cover falls off and you got fire ants invading your home 💀💀💀
Let’s name her cough drop
You’re crazy
Where did you buy that mate? The first outworld.
Great video! I'm new to the channel so I don't know any background for your colonies but I won't move the Campo queen just yet. She's doing so well in her current setup! Her brood pile is looking good and her nanitics are fat and healthy! If you do choose to move her though, I'd make sure the total nest area is no larger than a fist. Camponotus tends to do better in a cramped environment. Beautiful colony and amazing nests! You've earned another subscriber with this video! Hope to see more updates in the future! ❤
what a little beast!
Yesterday I ordered a Queen ant of a queensland website called antastic She will be At my home by Thursday. I ordered her with 1-4 workers Can't wait for her to arrive. I am already making my own ant nest Out of aac If you want I can keep you updated?
Please don't go down the route of making your ants fight to the death, thats not what ant keepers want. These videos are purely for likes, please don't continue with this.
I understand
oh no thats not good😮😮
They are moving
They were. 😅
Nest is too big for them
Thats why I tried to move them! 😅
Man you got robbed with those nests. I got the same one what lights up from Aliexpress and the 300 dollar one I got from Amazon for 70 bucks. Where did you get yours from?
Got mine from some app called shop.. I'm in Australia but, what about yourself?
new subscriber here, keep it up and make some ant war👹
Making Ant wars is animal cruelty
Brood boosting 😏 Im just waiting for something to come in the mail
@Kentuckyants-shorts it can be cruel your right, but it can and will happen in nature.
Brood boosting? What about it?
@@Kentuckyants-shorts some ant raid other ants in the wild to obtain brood
Very Nice queen there!
Thank you, The first queen paid for this year !
Ooo how exciting!! Congratulations on your new Colony! She’s beautiful!
Thank you, Can you guess what nest she is going in??
@@Craiginberra Omg you did!! For the light up nest!! ❤ Absolutely love it! So Happy for you!! ❤️
@QueenCaitiePie you are very wise! Yes that is correct 👏! You know what they say great minds think alike!
@@Craiginberra wise not so much, remembering how I encouraged you to go for it. Absolutely!
@QueenCaitiePie everyone is wise in their own way. 😁
Thank you, She is a very beautiful species! I have always wanted some!
Wow So pretty 🤩❤️🐜
I would recommend putting them in a test tube For the size Of the colony And they won't need an outworld for this hibernation, from my knowledge.
Also that's my favourite species of ant right now.
You are correct! My first Queen had 14 workers with about 7 more on the way!.. but now they have blocked the nest hole. And have stopped using the out world. They have about 3 crickets and about 5 - 7 drops of honey, then closed up nest.
Omg what will you do!
Move the honey.. wait for them to lose interest 👌 hopefully 😅
Ants the movie :
It will be an action-packed drama, rated MA+ 🤣🤣 Could end in tragic or in happiness 😅
@@Craiginberra 😂
Haha little criminals on the loose
These guys have broken out of 2 out worlds now 😅

They look like trapjaw ants
I wish! I got stung bad filming this video, so I can confirm they are myrmecia 😁

@@Craiginberra thanks you 🐜🙏❤️
@@AntsBrisbane no thank you! I love the ant community! Meeting another ant keeper in Australia is the best!
Surely a species from Meranoplus
Yes I agree 😁
I don't think u even got the queen mate 😂
I know 🤣 tell me about it! That's why I say never take from established colony's 😅 they have been all huddled up so I can't see them properly. At least I know how cool these little guys are, I might seek out a queen in the future.
Guess froggattela?
Meranoplus sp.
Nice! Thank you so much!
My favorite ant is honeypot ants
I would love a colony of honey pot ants 😁 good choice
I live in Russia, where keepers are poorly developed. What species do you keep? What are your most popular bloggers containing ants? At the moment I keep such species as: messsor structor, messor barbarus, temnotorex sp., lasius flavus, tetramorium bicarinatum. Recently my queen camponotus fedchenkoi 1/6 died
I love Russia 🥰 im Slavic living in Australia 😄! Novo ants is a good channel! I keep Camponotus, iridomyrmex, pheidole, lasius, crematogaster. And a few others I don't really know the species of. All my ants I find in the wild I have only payed for 1 colony my Camponotus aeneopilosus.
Im sorry to hear about your passed away Camponotus 😔 may she rest in peace.
@@Craiginberra Ants of this species are very nervous, they often eat their brood, well, that’s what we think in Russia. I initially thought that I would not be able to develop this colony.
Moreover, I bought it for only $10
@AlmazAnt yes camponotus are nervous. I have one camponotus colony the queen has eaten its brood 2 times now. I don't think she will make it at this rate. $10 that's nice and cheap 😁. I bought 1 camponotus species for $70!
What is the tiny ant? at 2:20 its so cute lol
I would say it could be smaller for different uses like helping with eggs and maybe fighting smaller ants 🐜 🤔? It is cute 😁
Bite sized
e lnido con luces no lo uses se te meten hormigas chiquitas
I wanted to put a bigger species in the light up nest! 😁
you are from AUSTRALIA?
Yes indeed
What ants species are you going to use it for
Im hoping a bull ant species. Some kind of Myrmecia! 😁
If you have a green head, Ant colony that has 100+ workers try putting them in there 4:36
They are really nice ants! Good pick! I don't have a colony at all of green headed ants.
This season you should try looking for green head ant queens pls
@Kentuckyants-shorts im always on the hunt! I see many colony's, you think it would be wrong if I try to take an established one?
Well, I’ve heard from many ant keepers, that you shouldn’t take an established colony, but I think it would be fine because I take a established colonies the time in the summer when I have trouble finding queens
@@Kentuckyants-shorts I did it once about 3 years ago when I first started ant keeping
I didn’t know Myrmecia were that bad at defending against smaller agile ants, I would’ve expected them to intimidate by biting the air and cover the nest entrance. European Camponotus, Cataglyphis or Messor always do that against a more numerous, more agile ant species.
🤣🤣🤣! I was thinking the same thing! It's like they just look at them! They are very slow in attacking
I wonder why Iridomyrmex would get so close to such a dangerous place. It's interesting how the myrmecia hold their antennae when fighting. They keep them close and back ... I guess to keep the ants from grabbing them. It's interesting to see some of the smaller members of the colony, but it's like they know that they should leave the fighting to the big girls. And the male wants none of it. He just wants to go on dates.
I found the Iridomyrmex making a very long line that was going passed the big nest. I didn't ever realise they were having a war at first.
Maybe a small nest is required or at the least a clean test tube
I might try building one 🤔
Oh Bugger. So sorry to hear. Guess we both are having bad luck. My banded Sugar Ant Nanitic died. She’s still adding to her brood though.
Oh no! That's so sad. I hope she gets a few workers!
Don't worry about the size of the nest hole. Unless the sp is wider than 10mm (which is nearly impossible for like 99% of species), it will be able to fit through. If the nest is too large, consider blocking portions of it off with cotton or something. Be careful when using cotton though, as some ants will burrow into it and make a huge mess of the nest.
I really like your ideas! And you Put my mind at ease with the nest hole size! Thank you 😁 could I used dirt instead of cotton? Then they can build later if they want?
@@Craiginberra Dirt for a fact they will pretty much instantly dig through. It's easier if you do something they cant dig through, like a piece of wood or something. Although it might seem like dirt is a good idea since they can expand on their own, knowing ants they'll dig through it anyway just to fulfil their instinct to dig.
@AntsMichigan your on the money with one! I bet they will get bored and dig the dirt for fun 🤣 I will keep idea in mind with the wood/cotton. I like that idea 😁
@@Craiginberra Hope it helps!
@AntsMichigan all information and Ideas help! If it doesn't work for one specific species it should work for another 😁
For the fly, try opening the abdomen of one of the queens that died. If its hollowed out and empty, that means that fly is a parasite that most likely burrowed inside the queen and was living inside of her slowly killing her. If there's liquids coming out, then the fly probably is just a regular fruit fly or something. I will say though, parasitic flys look a LOT different than fruit flies, and that fly you showed us looks like a fruit fly, but, it's still worth checking even then.
I think your right. Might need so more of a investigation.
