The Life and Times of Vittrup Man (Human Remains Ep 1)
In 1915 a man’s remains were found in a peat bog near what is now the village of Vittrup, Denmark by people cutting peat. All that remained of the once living human being was a right anklebone, lower left shinbone, jawbone and a fragmented skull. A wooden club was also found near their remains. The remains became known as the Vittrup Man, were placed in a museum and were eventually dated to between 5,300 to 5,100 years ago. In 2014 Vittrup Man’s DNA was included in a genomic project researching the Mesolithic and Neolithic gene pools of Europe and Asia. The genome of Vittrup Man and 317 other prehistoric human skeletons were sequenced. Vittrup Man’s DNA revealed that he was genetically very different from the rest of the prehistoric population of Denmark that existed at that time. Possessing blue eyes and darker skin he even looked different from the prehistoric Danish population that he encountered which had its origins in Anatolia and the Middle East. (In fact his appearance is estimated to have been very much like the Cheddar Man remains found in the United Kingdom. The foragers who once roamed continental Europe are known as the Western European Hunter Gathers. However these people were largely replaced by agricultural peoples originating from Anatolia. It is not known whether Vittrup Man is related to the Western European Hunter Gatherers). Instead it was found that he is actually genetically most similar to the prehistoric inhabitants of Norway and Sweden. This video will cover prehistoric Sweden, Norway (Scandinavia, the peninsula) and Denmark at a time when Europe was still transitioning from foraging and hunter gatherer lifestyles to farming and agriculture. Denmark had largely transitioned by this time, but many peoples on the Scandinavian peninsula still practiced foraging. It is still a matter of debate how Vittrup Man met his demise, but since human sacrifice was fairly common near bogs in Denmark at the time it seems likely that this is what killed him.

The Prehistory of Wyoming's Mountain Peoples (Prehistoric North America)

The Great Plains of North America have always been viewed by archaeologists as a much more violent place compared to other regions. However, this view was largely upended in the latter...

The Fossilized Fight: Dinosaur vs. Mammal

Republicans in Texas guaranteed this disaster by so many ways: - Refusing to make backup systems and electric systems mandatory winterized, instead choosing to make it voluntary........meaning no company bothered. - when the disaster hit, Greg Abbot already had people to blame: Democrats and the Green New Deal. - Lack of regulation - Prioritizing private company profits over safety - Texas's "independence" meant they were all on their own.

The Native Americans were already engaging in mass warfare" why make this essentialist argument about native people when some engaged in this warfare and some didn't. The Wampanoag didn't scalp hundreds of English settlers because their culture didn't value that.

We had running water for the entire time. Our neighbors, with a mostly uninsulated home, did not. But they had gas. We gave them water, we cooked food together. We all ate, quite well. Neither of us had electricity for 6 days. It was uncomfortable, no doubt. But, am VERY proud of the neighbors i have. We're almost in the middle of nowhere, inaccessible to get in or out during that time. They stayed with us for a couple days, using our restroom. We talked to each other, we ate together, we cooked together. It got to 40 degrees in our house, for 3 days. They're house was below freezing. The water saved up in there bathtub was frozen. You help when you can. Thats all ill say.

I've spent a lot of time out in nature in the foothills of the San Fernando Valley in the high desert as well. Locally right here in Chatsworth North the park. There's a huge oak tree at the back of the park that you can see. Underneath the oak tree is this huge flat stone that it seems to be almost growing out of it's got to be about 15 ft around or maybe bigger. We were sitting on it one day trying to cool down from the heat relaxing and we noticed all the grindstone marks. All across the top of the stone there were many of them🎉 just cool to think that they were there the same place we were sitting🎉 PS in Chatsworth South on full moons you can see a ghost of a Native American just like you or me walking around in front of these big white rocks. I've seen him many many times and still have all my cohorts. You just don't say anything you watch what he's doing and he does the same thing every time like he's caught in a Time Loop. There's about four sets of mountain peaks. One of the last sets towards the north he walks around the corner on the full Moonlight and it's like this pale colored Stone and he sticks out like a sore thumb he looks up this crack between the two huge Boulders like he's thinking of climbing it and then he decides to know and goes back to where he came from. I've seen this so many times it's not even funny. Seems to be always when there's a full moon and it's very bright out😮

Dr. Ripan S. Malhi's research has provided strong evidence supporting the theory that Native Americans migrated from Asia. His work involves analyzing ancient DNA and the genetic history of Indigenous peoples in the Americas, which aligns with the broader scientific consensus on the peopling of the Americas. Dr. Ripan S. Malhi is of Indian descent. Dr. David Reich, a professor of genetics at Harvard Medical School, has conducted significant research supporting the theory that Native Americans migrated from Asia. His work, along with that of other international researchers, has shown that the majority of Native American populations are descended from an initial migration across the Bering Land Bridge, with subsequent migrations also contributing to their genetic diversity. Dr. Jennifer Raff supports the theory that Native Americans migrated from Asia. Her research focuses on the genetics of Native American populations and she has published extensively on the topic, emphasizing the importance of understanding Indigenous histories through a scientific lens while respecting cultural narratives. Dr. Jennifer Raff is of Trinidadian background.

The presenter was referring to the Scandinavian Peninsula, a geographic region that includes Norway, Sweden, and part of Finland. Denmark is a separate landmass. This is a geographic distinction, not a cultural one. Culturally and historically, Denmark is closely tied to the countries on the Scandinavian Peninsula, so you are right to consider them culturally Scandinavian.
