That's great! Most blood charities are kept going through the dedication of their volunteers. And being a volunteer means meeting the vehicle running costs yourself. The fleet vehicles are usually supported by the charity, but I would expect you'd need to be an active volunteer for a while before you would be offered the ability to use one of them. I hope you enjoy becoming a blood runner.

I would have thought the church is very impressive when lit at night as it is in a very prominent position. I seem to remember seeing it lit up on a postcard, but we sadly didn't experience it.

We can't recall seeing them, but the might still be there. I seem to remember each country having its own meridian until the one at Greenwich was agreed upon.

Thanks for the encouragement! The slightly crazy thing is that these driving videos are almost the offcuts from our main tour videos. They came out first and have had little traction on TH-cam. Hey ho. Maybe our 2024 tour will get more attention.

That particular day was a long one as we did stop quite a few times (as you'll see in the tour videos). But you never know if you'll drive that road again so it's essential to get everything you can while you're there. This was the last of our scenic drive footage as poor weather stopped us filming as we drove to Bergen the next day.

Looking back it was certainly one of the highlights of the trip. At the time it was a bit scary!

Hi Kelly! Yeah, the back end of this episode was truly magnificent. And we were so lucky to see it on such a beautiful day as well. We had a fair way to go that day and my constant wish to stop and film for the main tour videos meant we had little food choices once we reached our destination as pretty much everywhere was shut. But when the scenery is this good.....

Thanks John, I knew it was some way out of Svolvaer - but wasn't really too sure how far. It had been raining when we left so I didn't have the roof camera in place as it is only splashproof and not waterproof. But as you say, it was a lovely drive. Just a shame we weren't blessed with the weather we'd had for other legs of the trip. Hey ho, you can't have everything!

Yeah, I thought they looked more like fatigue cracks rather than from a specific event. However, in the 5 years & 50,000 miles I've owned the car, I'd be lying if I said I hadn't hit some serious potholes from time to time. And the government wonders why everyone is buying SUVs!

The expense of Christmas, our trip to Cologne and wasting 4 tyres made me think I'd wait a bit and do some more research.

You don't think a referb with welding is worthwhile? I was assuming they'd come back almost as good as new.

Don't know enough about major autos suppliers vs Tesla's to be able to make any real comment on that factor.

I did once think about taking the car back to its birthplace. Probably a pipe dream though.

Not just the UK where the roads are falling apart then. At least you've got nearby tectonic plates to blame!

Got the car 2nd hand almost 5 years ago, so the wheels have taken a while (80,000 miles) to give up. Not 100% sure, but I think the P90D has larger calipers so a 20" is the smallest I can go. Will have to do more research nearer the time.

Were those problems on a Tesla or other manufacturer. Yeah, the finish on the bits you can't see does seem a bit "rural".

@@thelongfreeride No not a Tesla, this was a Renault. The Renault wheels seems pretty strong, but some potholes are simply not survivable at speed. GL

I probably will go with some new wheels (again), but once the tyres are worn out. Not sure Tesla are gonna give me anything for the old ones!

Thanks for the feedback. I bought my car 2nd hand and was excited about the performance of the P90D. In hindsight, it's rare I use the performance, but I still love the car overall.

Yeah, I think this is the conclusion I'm coming to. After our next long tour I'll see how much meat is left in the tyres and look at the 20" options.

Possibly. Plenty of large SUVs and "blinged" 4x4s are around the same weight and have similar size wheels with skinny tyres. But I guess many of them have ever been outside the city!

Made in Mexico by the look of the moulding marks. Being a reasonably early Tesla (2016) mine does have some components that have not proven to be reliable over time (cinch motor on the tailgate and the door handles). But I've not really had any other issues. Yeah the build quality was not Audi standard in 2016, but with 81K miles on the clock I've not yet experienced other materials issues.

Sorry the music is not to your taste, but glad you're enjoying the visuals. I probably have about another 7 or 8 of these in the can and some put these last two to shame!
