Thanks Craig its good to get perspectives from producers for such a great show, they really knew their stuff and is why On the Buses is still fondly remembered and enjoyed to this day. Yogi.
And Stuart was the best. He was also handed the task of getting the use of a fleet of buses and a depot for filming which he pulled off at the second attempt. Without them the series would not have got off the ground.

The registration is JVB 54. Listed as SORN. The last logbook date is 2023.
An interesting footnote to this, is that in 1983, this happened for real! Fife coach operator Rennies, owned by Stagecoach since 2008, had a coach doing a tour to Blackpool. One evening, the coach, a Leyland Leopard, was stolen from the coach park by vandals, who drove it onto the beach, and abandoned it in the sea, before the tide came in, and done what it would do! The next morning, part of the coach body had, as a result of the tidal effect, became separated from the chassis, which was distorted in areas. What was left of the coach went back to their depot at the time, in Cairneyhill, but the vehicle was a write off. The irony is, the body on the coach was made by Duple, a long defunct company, who were based in Blackpool! Yes it closed last November whilst I was doing some filming location videos and photography.
Great to listen to this interview with Bob. It is certainly true the On The Buses film spin off's were the best and most successful ones from a sitcom. I prefer the films to the sitcom episodes. Great to hear him talk about the rest of his career as well.

I adore on the buses craig..ive got em all series and films..times of innocent happy tv..i wish id been in this..ive heard pontins is closed...do you do any tours in Borehamwood at all..i get a strange bit of sadness when i watch them and realise theyve all passed away now.
Yes I do walking tours of Borehamwood and other areas On the Buses was filmed in.
@OntheBusesDatabase1 I live quite a way uo in derbyshire Craig but I'd love to go on one of Yr walking tours..I'd probably ly end coming down with my daughter and her fella...how often are the tours and how much..

Maybe they will find other uses for some of the buildings. Very sad this. I loved that film.
I very much doubt it. The whoke site comes as a package so to speak. It will either be left derelict to rot or sometime in the future if the site is sold it will be demolished.
