John Evenson (1884)
Service History
The wooden steam tugboat John Evenson was built for and by the vessel's namesake John Evenson in Milwaukee in 1884. The Evenson's official registry number was 76523. Mr Evenson sold the tug to George Spear who moved the tug to Door County to work the lumber trade by towing log rafts. In 1890, the tug was purchased by the Laurie brothers, John and Alexander, to tow vessels through the Sturgeon Bay Ship canal and to tow barges of stone for their quarries on the north shore of Green Bay.
Last Document Of Enrollment No.28 Surrendered: Milwaukee: 9/9/1895: "Total Loss"
Final Voyage
"Returning to Sturgeon Bay from Manitowoc after having the John Evenson's fire-box repaired, Captain John M. Laurie decided to wait off the canal for a vessel in need of a tow. Late in the afternoon of June 5, 1895 the steambarge I.W.Stephenson, with two barges in tow, signalled for assistance in getting through the Sturgeon Bay canal. The Evenson responded and while attempting to get a line attached got too close and was struck in the stern by the Stephenson's bow. The vessel was moving around 10 MPH and the force of the collision turned the Evenson sideways. The bow of the Stephenson again struck the Evenson and rolled her over sideways causing her to fill and sink almost immediately. All but one of the five crew escaped from the foundered craft and were picked up by the the boats lowered from the Stephenson's two barges, the Peshtigo and the Alert. Martin Boswell who was asleep at the time, went down with the tug." Door County Shipwrecks.

Matachuck Florida Cave Diving
มุมมอง 522ปีที่แล้ว
Matachuck. 90min dive, 60min to the EOL, 30min out(even with a couple of detours to check out side passages). Max depth of 38ft, average of 27ft. Lots of flow and crackling blue water and really high flow. Small/short cave with a lot of twists and turns. Tons of different types of rocks and formations. In a lot of the areas the rock was like soap that would squish when grabbed and extremely sli...
Jackson Blue Springs Entrance to 3000ft
มุมมอง 15Kปีที่แล้ว
DPV Dive into Jackson Blue Springs Single take from the cavern to approx 3000ft in and most of the way back out. Shot on a gopro 11 with two 2500lm video lights 1000s of little fish at about 1000ft in Definitely didn't look like any of the cave adapted species I'm use to seeing. Not sure where they came from or what they are.
Mine La Motte Cave Dive
มุมมอง 484ปีที่แล้ว
A few clips from my last trip to Mine La Motte. All from the front area of the mine. Water temp was 45*, the typical cave/spring water in the area is about 55*. There's a few theory's as why, but nothing has been proven. 2hr dive time, max depth of 70ft. The entrance is on private property and not open to the general public. Certified cave divers only.
Eagles Nest Dive 12 28 22
มุมมอง 61Kปีที่แล้ว
Downstream at eagles nest on DPVs Visibility was about 20-30ft but wasn't enough to get a true grasp of how big some of the rooms are. 289ft max depth, 2:30 runtime, 72* water temp
Cannonball Cave After The 275ft Restriction
มุมมอง 4.7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Made it through the high flow restriction at 275ft and to the end of the "Mud Room" before turning around. Video is a bit shaky, getting high quality shots wasn't a priority on this part of the dive.
Cannonball Cave Missouri 11/13/22
มุมมอง 2.1K2 ปีที่แล้ว
A weekend of amazing vis for a MO cave. Video from above the restriction at 275ft. Water temp 57* in the cave and 52* in the river.
Im surprised that the yellow breathing hoses survived being pulled through the tight squeeze.
They're quite durable. Designed for cave environments
Im so glad I get to watch you do this from my recliner.
so did you get some award? find gold? find anything cool or just risk your life for tax payers money to come "rescue" your dumb ass
I freedove here to 101
Hmm.. I understand the thrill and the urge to want to cave dive, but not in this system. I want to actually be able to see some cool things, even if its just stalagmites.
This is so cool
How about no.
This was filmed like a pro. Amazing job!
What the actual f**k
Not even fish will go down there
There's usually cave adapted fish and other wildlife in the caves. They're just too small to show up in this video
RIP to the lost soul's who never resurfaced. Id like to go see what the fuss is all about
I love diving, but hell no 🤣
lol so mùany people died there, and yet still some rich ass dude think they own the world and try this stupiud black pitch udner water cave. its the most stupid thing i see on iunternet
That is so incredibly boring yet people risk their lives for it
I ride Bulls but this would make me 💩 myself 🤣
100% bad ass!!
Dangerous and terrifying. This takes tremendous skill and courage. What makes you do it?
i thought you had to swim down gradually. or is that only for resurfacing?
Thanks s lot. Such a beautiful place
Amazing dive great video. Love JB. the furthest I’ve made it is 1700.
Doing the Lord’s work, you all are.
Why are there no bubbles coming from the divers?
Rebreathers recycle the gas
@ Thanks for the explanation.
Balls of steel: Wikipedia shows this video
Damn this looks like a subnautica video
DEEP WATER + COMPLETE DARKNESS = NOPE 😂
Definition of white people shit
Anyone wanting to know what's in these springs, caves etcetera. It's the same exact stuff above ground only wet!
Incredible video. Question from someone totally new to this. At the restrictions, does anyone try to clear away rubble or widen the tunnel to make it less difficult or is that something you're not allowed to do?
Its not needed and damages the cave
Have you guys done Buford sink yet?
Hey guys, got news for ya, there isn’t anything down there but water, rocks and death. But, you go ahead and keep diving down there because eventually you will kill yourself.
I don't see these dudes dying. They are over prepared.
Thank you, for taking us down into the watery depths were I would *never go!* Thank you for sharing such an amazing experience 🌹
amazing! But ladies and gentlemen, Scottie Dont!! 😮
Excellent footage of a calming, wondrous dive. Thanks for letting us share in this!
It's cool that youve filmed this but this doesnt look appealing at all for me to want to do., even if it was safe.
24:42 wonder where all that trash flowed in from, unbelievable to see it even in such a remote place
I believe there was a small sinkhole there at one time that has since filled in.
Almost had me thinking "yeah, the perfect spot to crack open a cold one, I'd have done the same."
Room one, two, three... As far as I remember, every room in the cave has its own name. Too sad, they are not named on the footage.
The silence is eerie whenever the scooter is off.
I could probably do this without all that equipment
So crazy how such an unassuming pond has this beast of a cave right underneath
i do not understand why people would want to do something so dangerous.
I can imagine how people get confused lost very tricky
You are brave braver than chuck norris himself 😂 very skilled wonderful video sir thanks for showing
Chuck is Chuck, and did you know that last week Chuck shocked the electric current?
Amazing. not something i could ever do. thank you for taking us along! really mindblowing and brave!!
0:45 sick beats bro
Ok I see why Gus and woody said eagle nest clams a lot of people life this cave is massive it’s no joke!!!!
Wow at 6:25 ish when you come out of the smaller passage and it just opens up into a black void and you see the vertical line just keep going was amazing
I know it’s standard practice to put the triangle cookies as arrows pointing the way out, but when there is a branch or junction, why do they not put a circular cookie with the formation/area that line leads to written on it? I’m assuming most people look at a map before venturing so they roughly know which path to keep to, but it seems like a small addition that would help. Also 21:22 there is no arrow cookie at the junction marking which line is the way out? EDIT: Never mind there is, it was just a white one instead of red like most of the prior arrows
That tight of a squeeze all the way through? No thanks. 😮😅
Some of them rooms are huge
Where is this place?
