Just having fun in the woods or on the road riding my bikes.
Old Man MTB / Hit the Restart Button / Orbea Occam H30
I'm off to visit Hubbardston State Forest to restart the trail riding. The stone walls at Gardner have been in my head so needed a little break.

Always enjoy cycling Central Massachusetts roads, thank goodness our tax money is going to fix the roads.
Two Old Guys MTB / Riding the Burg / Orbea Occam

Today my brother Rick joined me for a ride in The Burg. He does have an advantage because the trails start right next to his house, so they are his home trails. Just a fun time enjoying a nice early evening riding.
Old Man MTB / Where are they ?
มุมมอง 3421 วันที่ผ่านมา
Today it was off to my old riding grounds, Lake Dennison in Winchendon Massachusetts. I forgot about Saturday's and the horses that would be out on the trails. Once I was able to see their tracks I knew where they would be going so, I was on the lookout for them. Throughout the second half of the ride, I was chasing down the junior rangers on their four-wheeler.
Old Man MTB / How to get the motor started / Cycling Past Sixty
มุมมอง 73128 วันที่ผ่านมา
Being a diesel motor, it takes me at least 30-45 minutes to get the legs going. But living in Central Massachusetts means the climbs are everywhere, so the legs need to suffer a tad before they want to.

I knew I was going to have an off day when five minutes into the ride I get stopped by some little branches. I decided to ride some of my regular trails in reverse and well that went wrong. I just didn't have it today and decided once the light rain came to end the ride and call it a day.

Gr8 ride zip thanks for sharing take care zipp
It's a fun trail network!
Those trails look pretty nice. It gets me excited to get back into the woods tomorrow. I was energyless all day today from a 35 mile gravel ride yesterday. I should be ready to go again. Thanks for the vid!
That's a good distance gravel ride, how that bike treating you ?
@@JustRideZipp2001 I love the bike and really enjoy getting out in the hills. I can't believe that I've been having elevation gains of over 2000ft! The 1x drive tran works great. Thanks for asking!
you look familiar......lol
We talked for a bit and found we did some group road rides together out of O'Neil's back in the day.
i remember riding trails on my dirt bike and like you all of a sudden im in someones yard......lol
Every now and then I still wander into some one's yard. Oops ! 🤣🤣
The old man can climb and hit a tasty speed on the flat 👍🏻
Looked hard going that trail zipp and looked a bad crash glad to see u got up and carried on take care zipp
Fun trail that I've done tons of times, just not feeling right over the walls right now. It gets in the head and just have to stop over thinking it and just increase my speed and roll over them. Good thing I can take a hit and keep going, pian is delouses.
Are you trying to steal my crashing 👑 crown from me 😉🤪
June has been crazy on the trails, just have to get it out of my head and hit the stone walls with more speed.
i didnt recognize anything until you went by burger king right before the rotary then it was all familiar and dunkins is still empty.....time sure does fly, i used to have lunch or dinner all the time at that wendys across the street from dunky's 25 years ago......
A bunch of new places coming into town, Aldi's, Chipotle, Jersey Mikes, and several others. That old Dunkins location is so hard to get in and out of it will stay empty for a long time.
@@JustRideZipp2001 .......i used to say that taking a left out of wendys.....they should put a light there already.......sometimes i would just take a right and go home using betty spring
dude who made the dash panel for you.
The car was 90% complete when I bought it and so no idea who made it. This car was originally built on the west coast. I sure Spirit Cars could do one just like this.
I'd get lost 😄
At some point you would come out to a road. 🤣🤣
Double trouble at Mill out on the bikes 🤪🤪
Always good to have company out on a ride.
so riding with you makes him book it harder.......thats kewl
Maybe it was from all the sitting he did all day before our ride (lol).
You have suicidal creatures out on your rides in the woods now 😜
The little guy wanted me to hit him so he could sue me. You might think it was his woods or something (lol).
So easy to do. Just glad you (and the bike and phone) escaped OK. When a I had my big crash a few years ago my Garmin had become embedded in the earth bank I'd hit.
The phone takes a beating, I had an added clear protective covering put on it to help will the beating.
🤣😉🤣 rider down, rider down 😉🚴
Who put that little tree out in the woods !
damn those small evergreens.....been wrestling them for ages
Ya they do catch me every now and then. 🤣🤣
Unions
What supposed to be a bike ride turns into a "scan for cracks and potholes in front" ride. So much for having fun.
*I LIVE IN BULGARIA* the poorest country in the EU - I've not seen a pot hole n 10 years EDIT and we have dedicated cycle roads - not cycle paths, actual roads for bikes
None of that here in Central Massachuseets where I live. Dodge the potholes and cars, that why most of my riding is in the woods.
@@JustRideZipp2001 My city is Burgas you can look it up. Ive not had a car for 5 years.
Checkout those bike handeling skills 😉
A future video will show my bike handling skills much better. (lol)
Looks exactly like our roads everywhere.
Looks like a road in liverpool disgusting zipp need your mountain bike on that 😂thanks for sharing zipp
Taxes keep going up and roads keep getting worse.
Wow, what a peaceful looking house.
Dead end street with the trails right next to him, can't beat it.
Wish we had nice roads like that!
We are special over on this side.
Just like the shite roads here in Liverpool, England 🏴
They tax us and nothing gets done, wonder where the money goes. Their Pockets I'm Guessing!
Dang......thats bad
One of many roads in Gardner, but Fitchburg is way worse than this.
@@JustRideZipp2001 .....nothing has changed.......but i didnt know gardner was like that, they always had good roads except for betty spring road, i always thought that road was true backroad.....yeah fitchburg was always digging up and patching......just re-do the whole underground system and be done with it
Betty Spring Road is really nice re-did it several years back, but closer to the center and the roads get worse.
Best of times....and a blessing to have the trailhead at your leisure......
Indeed, my friend.
Double trouble at Mill out on the bikes 🤪
I always ride out of Rick's house when doing the Burg, so it was great to have him join me.
Well at least u know your phone mount works.
🤣🤣🤣
i used to ride my dirtbike near there at a track in the middle of the woods next to a railroad bridge.....then, ever since i was a kid riding the trails no matter where i went be it in westminster or templeton or where ever......if i saw horses i would stop shut the motor and let them pass, only a moron would whiz by them on a 2 stroke dirtbike and there were times i saw that.....as for rangers i used to run from them but as i got older i would stop......one time i got stopped in Ayer riding in a field at fort devens.....mp's they were......they had weapons drawn......they thought i was the one who started a fire in the woods......i said not me and they let me go......i never went riding there anymore.......then out in the woods the green police as i call them stopped me for having no sticker......i got a 100 dollar fine......never went out there riding again either, that was that pit off route 2 in templeton around 1987........funny how i remember shit like that but ask me what i did yesterday and i have no clue
I hear you about remembering stuff. My wife and I went out to Greenfield several weeks ago and I'm pointing out roads and landmarks that I cycled on in the early 90's. But ask me stuff about the other day and I go blank. 🤣🤣🤣
@@JustRideZipp2001 ......yup.....we remember what intrigues us i guess.....did you do the mohawk trail? i used to like that ride
@@Joe-pb3lx I did a weekly crit race at the airport in Turner Falls and trained a lot out in Greenfield. I used to do the long climb out of Greenfield on the Mohawk Trail to the Bridge of Flowers weekly.
@@JustRideZipp2001 .....dang thats no easy feat......i used to train on rt 119 in ashburnham into the new hampshire line.....a 10 mile loop.....did it once or twice a week.....until some drunk in a cadillac almost ran into me, i remember that like it was yesterday.....that was 1987 era.....riding my columbia 10 speed road bike, i think i got it from Kmart in leominster......good times back then.....i think mt manadnock had a trail head there where i use to park.....i use to see this cute chick sometimes sitting on her front steps, but that wasnt my only motive......lol.....had to get in shape for motocross
@@Joe-pb3lx Spent my miles on rte.119.
road apples or in your case trail apples
Not fun if you ride thru fresh horse poop, forgot the apples.
@@JustRideZipp2001 lol
come on diesel you can do it
🤣🤣The legs like a good 30 minutes in them before climbing, but hey it's all fun.
Just a relaxing after work ride ! My idea of a relaxing ride , is pedal to the metal and smoking those rears so the cops won't see me. Dang I dig those model T's.😂😮😊.
Have you been playing bounce with the pavement, that's my job 😉
On a nice rainy day while getting out of the box truck my foot slipped. I tried grabbing the door but missed and drove my left side of my body into the pavement. Just more pain to add to the everyday aches and pain, much easier going down in the woods (softer).
Nice hot rod!
Thanks!
The bike cave is looking good zipp shame about the weather tho and nice to see mrs Z getting ready to ride again thanks for sharing zipp take care
This year is following last year's pattern with rain on the weekends. Still have work to do on the cave but it's getting there.
Yes, she needs to get out on here bike 😉🚴😉
Hopefully she'll get out on it, it's nice and clean and ready to roll.
Love the tube work stand ! Was it expensive?
That tube at one time had three patches on it, so got my money out of it then repurposed it. Why buy a bike stand when I've been doing it this way for almost 45 years.
@@JustRideZipp2001
Nice vid! Almost 80 rider here in Western Colorado still ridine three or four times every two weeks. You might want to relocate that face basher/artery slicer from your bars to somewhere more safe for you and the device!
Glad to hear your still out there riding.
Just hope you don't fall into one of those Vietnam bamboo traps under those leaves. 🤣😂🤣
🤣🤣That would be out in the woods of Winchentucky where I used to ride.
@@JustRideZipp2001
are you clipped in doing this?
Always!
@@JustRideZipp2001 ......you wouldnt think it the way you jump off, good job man
@@Joe-pb3lx I have the clipless pedals set real light for release and react quick when things go wrong. 🤣🤣🤣
i dont run machines when there is a full moon.......i can just feel it and its not good
Full Moons do that to people sometimes
Doing the trail in reverse is a whole new adventure.
Just another day in your office 😉
You got to have a few climbs in The Burg office, makes it fun.
Awesome kick butt ride.....answer me this, who built those stone walls, some had boulders the size of a small car......my mother used to tell me the indians.....i think not
A lot of landowners built them to mark their property line way back in the day.
@@JustRideZipp2001 ......i wonder how they moved those big boulders.....there is a stonewall going down the whole side of my street and some boulders are massive......even the regular sized ones look heavy......and this wall looks centuries old.....just baffles me......did they have excavators? and where did the boulders come from......if you noticed every wall all over new england has the same looking boulders.....just baffles me
Thats why they had 🐂 big oxes.
@@JustRideZipp2001 .......may be....a new neighbor moved in 3 lots down and he does stone work.....when i first shook his hand i thought it was going to break off.....the guys grip is insane.....im going to see what his opinion is too......this is interesting......then im going to ask the old man farmer up the street......ill keep you updated
so i talked to the stone work guy and he said the same thing as you....." they had big oxes" but he also said the farmers would drag all the stones to the edge of the roads which in turn made the walls....ill ask the old farmer soon what his opinion is....someday we will be the old guys and we may be asked questions like what were gas cars like? lol
I'd get lost.
You'll come out to a road climb sooner or later, so it's all good.
Even mother natures hills like making it difficult 😉
I always enjoy a challenge, and The Burg will challenge you on the road, or in the woods.
That seems more like an adventure ride for the fat bike.
A little better gearing than the fat bike, besides I needed the full suspension.
my brother and a few friends went to a party there one night......they found out we were from oakmont high school......they tried to kill us......we high tailed it out of there
I can see why, Oakmont. (lol)
@@JustRideZipp2001 .....lol.....i know it...everyone hated oakmont...cant believe that was 48 years ago......
nice setup
Old school 10 speed with a modern twist.
