I'm an intermmediate learner. Pimsleur is great for speaking practice. It teaches a little and re-enforces what you know. You'll see there's like hundreds of people that pass N2 and N1 and can't speak. They can write, read, listen, but they can't have a converstion. Pimsleur teaches you how to have a normal conversation using mostly polite japanese. Polite Japanese is crucial to starting a casual friendship so I reccomend this to the intermediate learners too if you're self studying. It won't be the way most people learn, but atleast people will say "I like you you're very polite." It'll help you think faster and respond faster in Japanese which is a skill that it takes most people atleast 6 months of living in Japan to have. P.S. I think its a bit difficult for total begginners but better for someone who's studied or been exposed to Japanese for atleast a month or so atleast,

Interesting. I've never used Pimsleur for any languages that I've learned. For Japanese I started with Busuu and now I am on Japanese Pod 101. I chose Busuu because I had already used it when I learned Polish. I found the Japanese Busuu course even better than the Polish one; really well structured, with just enough grammar explanations, and some kanji work. Along with Genki, it gave me a good foundation. Now I am just listening to intermediate level lessons on Japanese Pod 101 and reading random stuff on the internet.

Azzam, all five levels took you only about 5 months studying about 1 hour a day?? It took me two and a half years to finish all five levels of French. I was studying 2+ hours a day (listening to the same lesson 4 times a day and then doing flash cards, quiz etc) and it took me 3 or 4 (or even 5 days) per lesson. Now I can speak that makes me very satisfied with Pimsleur course and I plan to use it to learn Spanish some time in future. Regarding time that it takes to complete Pimsleur. I know that there are full-time language schools that get you conversational after a year. So it's similar to amount of hours that I spent. It's hard to believe that it's possible to be conversational in only 150 hours!

I like to go anywhere in west coast peninsula by taking KTM Intercity Train for my families travel. I hope KTMB ETS in southern corridor will be ready sooner.
