​@@Im_TheNoodle Nice! ive been confused about the itemization since i just recently started to play mid and picked up Hwei as my main. this champ tought me that i have not a single clue about itemization other than: Oh monkey see ad enemy monkey buy armor. or: monkey see tanks monkey buy liandrys. also, are you playing legend: haste now instead of Coup de grace? i've found coup de grace doing not realy anything other than copium since his QW is overkill already in most situations. so legend haste is just so much better and also opens the doors to a ultra spam ability haste build with hwei, tho you need to go double mana item or you will be squeezed out of mana in like 2 min xd

I'll definitely make note of that. I haven't been playing much but I'm going to get back to ranked this split so I can more effectively make the item and rune guide. For now I'm working on a different guide and will probably be playing behind the scenes so I can get my knowledge refreshed in the current meta.

True! I find in the case of the player actually being decent at nafiri they will usually try to line their dash up behind minions making it harder to land EQ but even so it's still relatively easy to land. I feel her mid to late game scaling makes her a big menace since she has insane mobility and roaming potential meaning that so long as she can get on top of you she can nearly one shot. Otherwise laning phase isn't too bad but in the long term she poses a lot of problems for hwei and she makes it hard to peel for teammates especially.

@@Im_TheNoodle I actually like playing against naafiri. Even in mid to late game. It is true that naafiri can nearly one shot you but I believe it is more likely a skill difference. Of course you could say she can ambush you but your EW / E2 generates vision. You can always use QE / Q3 so you kind of force the enemy to move. If you have comet, aery or presence of mind you get the signal if you hit someone. So there are quite some ways not to get completely destroyed just bc you didn't have vision somewhere. On top of that you can also one shot naafiri: you can ambush naafiri out of vision and give a full combo. That rly hurts. But I think hwei is a champ that gives high reward for high risks. If someone doesn't know how to utilize hweis kit, it probably won't end well especially against Champs that dash a lot

If you decide to go first strike which I personally don't, you're better off taking triple tonic. It helps give him some little power bumps during laning phase that give him decent options for trading with more success.

Haven't had time to play since it was released but I know it was very strong on him for a while. Seems viable as maybe a second or third item.

@@Im_TheNoodle Tysm for replying. I need an S on Hwei for M7 but even with good KDA/Vision, I get outshined by kill steals and it's so frustrating. Your guide made me play Hwei more confidently esp. against my personal tough matchups like Ahri and Yasuo.

@@anyrak hey I'm super glad it helped. It's actually really hard to get an s on hwei consistently since he kind of has a hard time racking up kills. Your best bet is having really good cs and as few deaths as possible.

@@Im_TheNoodle But if my teammates set high benchmark for S rank then it's harder... I want to participate in damage+kills. Any advice? I'm struggling with Varus too, the same issue. I got 10/3/13 while my Top and JG got 14/5/17 and I only got an A+. I'm a Hwei main who migrated to bot to improve my cs-ing and map awareness+gank survivability but now I'm just a stressed out Hwei AND Varus main.

Love that last part, haha! I was an ADC main until this season when I realized the role was fundamentally ruined. I actually feel like farming as an ADC is harder than ever with how hectic bot lane can be and unfortunately I don't personally feel like that kind of difficulty would help your CS improve overall. I believe that you should practice exactly what you want to be better at in the sense that not only do Varus and Hwei function on an entirely different level but they play different roles with different circumstances. Granted I do believe there are aspects of playing ADC that can help improve your overall gameplay but I would take the time to play Hwei and focus on one mechanic specifically each game. CS has an enormous impact on your letter grade and if you're not in the top three highest CS in the game then it's probably going to drop your grade quite a bit. Other than "generic" CS practice I would take some normal games to limit test yourself on Hwei and try to maximize your damage output and kill participation if you feel like that's where you're struggling. It's especially hard on Hwei cause he has really bizarre power spikes throughout the game where his early levels can be really weak while around first item he get's a huge advantage and it's that time until late game that you really have to get as many kills as possible. Once late game rolls around you'll find yourself doing a lot more zoning and artillery in order to help your team but actually last hitting champions is really hard. If you wanna maximize your early and mid game kill potential make sure shadowflame is your first or second item as it boosts your execute potential a ton. Blackfire torch came out after I made the video so I didn't get to throw it in there. Based on the patch right after it was put out it seems like it was really strong on hwei and I imagine it probably still is. I wouldn't recommend it as a first time due to lack of sustain in early game but if you're maybe against a tankier laner it might be a good early item.
