Sorry you had to go through that lisa. You have survived and came out a strong, better person. My childhood was misery and terror of my father, who was a drunkard and beat my mother and myself and 2 brothers and 3 sisters on an almost daily event. When I reached 16 years old, I had had enough and beat my dad unconcios. He was a bully and a coward. He didn't dare to hit my mother again.

Hi Lisa, thank you for sharing your story. You and my wife's early life experience are very similar, her father used to beat her, but never her younger twin sister or brother, just her, he once hit her so hard that he knocked her out and when she woke up the hole right side of her face was swollen and bruised. I know the cultures grown up are very different, and at that time it as normal to hit your children but i cant believe that no other family members would not try to stop it. Another thing I'm amazed about my wife's childhood is that she was born in 1983 and can remember her grandmother having bound feet, i had thought that had stopped long before that and there would be no people living with bound feet at the time she was born, it really shocked me when she told me.

It is very moving hearing about your life and experiences. It is very hard to be positive sometimes. But hearing your story and the way you reacted to experiences is very uplifting. It would have been so easy to become bitter and cynical and scared of life. Many of us are nowadays without having the bad experiences. Not always easy to smile in the face of life when so much is there to frustrate. So thanks for the honesty and the story. You have done a power of good telling your story as always.

The carnivore I am demands a medium rare steak- blood stain lips is how I pride myself with my eating habit. I enjoyed the sight of the flatbread. Overall, you did good.
