Thanks so much ... this was such a great help. I made a book cover and wanted to decrease into a point ... I used your method to decrease in 3 places every 3 rows and it worked so well and looks very neat ... thanks for your help 😊❤
I saw a tutorial on center-pull balls when I first starting crocheting (forever ago), and I’ve used that method ever since then. It’s basically the same process you show here, but that old tutorial omitted the *essential* tip about keeping the center loose and gradually wrapping more tightly as the ball expands. And Oh. My. Goodness- this makes all the difference! So glad I watched this video. I’m always learning something new from Aoibhe!
I love you Aoibhe ❤😂
I was able to use these same steps while crocheting in the round, and it worked beautifully! Thank you!
Beautiful video!
Absolutely gorgeous designs on both jumpers. I'm not a knitter and would love to do the entire project in tunisian crochet. Is that possible to switch out the knitted stockinette stitch for the tunisian knit stitch on the body and sleeves?
Oooh, this is a fascinating question. A good result would depend on a series of factors. 1. In the body of my sweaters I knit with two strands held together. This thickens the knit fabric to a similar level as one strand of yarn and Tunisian Crochet fabric, so they feel good together. So, if you plan to make the body and sleeves with Tunisian, reduce the strands you crochet with accordingly. 2. But you also have to remember that knit fabric is a lot more stretchy and pliable than any Tunisian Crochet stitch, so for wearability, I'd make sure your tension allows for slightly bigger stitches than the pattern calls for. 3. I actually think this might be a fun discussion to have in Episode 2. I'll expand on a few other minor factors there.
@@Aoibhe_Ni Thanks so much for your incredible answer! I truly look forward to Episode 2.
I am happy to see another video of yours and I am looking forward to the cruidin pattern! I've made a few of your shawls and I really love your designs and pattern writing quality.
That is just so encouraging to hear, thank you. I do try to ensure my patterns are clear and logical, so I'm glad you think that comes through in the finished product.
Wow!
Beautiful jumpers! (I wish I enjoyed knitting 😬). The colours of cruidin are stunning!
Thanks! I'm happy to say that, luckily, the jumpers are totally doable with crochet alone, too. Just A. make sure your UK dc/US sc sts are the same gauge width as the knitted sections. (Or a tiny bit wider if you like a stretchier fit) B. Consider using one strand of yarn for the body and sleeves instead of the two strands I knit with.
The jumpers are very lovely. I’m looking forward to the Tunisian shawl. Thanks for your update!
Aren't you lovely for commenting. Thank you so much! The shawl, Cruidín is my evening projecct lately, because it's beginner-friendly and I can do it while watching telly, so hopefully, I'll have something to show for the pattern edit next video.
Good to see you 🤗 All three are lovely, Cruidín is a showstopper 🤩
@silemuirin That's so kind of you to say, thank you. The colours dance together so nicely, don't they? ❤😊
Thank you! I was looking for this for a long time! Thanks for sharing❤Claudia from Argentina 🇦🇷
Thank you so much!!!! I have been looking for someone as generous as you! Thanks for sharing! From Argentina❤
Your awesome! Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us and the step by step videos. I have saved all of them for future use. I have to finish some ABC blankets for my grand children before I can start a new project. Well maybe this could be an in between project lol 😊
This was SUPER helpful. Thank you!!
Just brought your pattern. Wish me luck. Thank you for such a lovely pattern hope I can do it justice ❤
Moss stitch is done with a single crochet
She is using UK crochet terms. Single crochet in US is double crochet in UK.
Currently freehanding a moss stitch sweater vest and this has saved my shoulder and neck areas!
Sorry, i'm a little confused. You said it's a 3 row repeat. Which if I understand correctly is: Wrong side - 2 dc in a row at decrease point, no chain in between Right side - chain over both dc as if 1 dc Wrong side - dc into chain as normal to establish next decrease point And then the repeat is done. But now you're on the right side, and the repeat _starts_ on the wrong side (at least according to the example you showed?), so what do you do for the right side row that comes right after the repeat is done and before the next one begins? Do you just crochet as normal? Do you start the repeat again regardless of which side you end up on?
Thank you!
Love this tutorial. Could I use Aran instead of dk yarn for this sweater
This is fantastic. I am seeing for the first time someone who crochet like me.❤
Thank you so much! (I can't get over how you yarn over, never seen anyone do it like that before!)
Do you have a video on how to start Anansi? That would be greatly appreciated
I totally love how you helped us to be able to read the chart and do the stitches slowly. This is a beautiful shawl! I wish you would do more of these for us! I’m totally in love with Tunisian crochet!
I couldn’t stop staring at the style of crochet you use. You must definitely have started by knitting English style. Never seen this before. It certainly works, although a little slower.
When going into the chain at the beginning (in any Tunisian not just this pattern) can I go into the back bump like in regular crochet?
Out of interest, what size hook does ur yarn recommend compared to what size ur using? I think you said a 6mm in ur first video? ETA - duh lol I've just clicked ur using a thicker yarn for the tutorial (I swear once I hit 40 I started losing my marbles 😂) BUT, do you recommend using the hook size suggested with the yarn or using 1/2 or 1 mm size bigger? I've seen in some vids ppl suggest going up a hook size or 2 as Tunisian can be a bit of a tight tension naturally? Whats ur opinion/suggestion? 😃
Beautiful
I love Tunisian crochet. Thank you so much for such detailed instructions. 💖. Your shawl is beautiful.
👍♥️♥️♥️Thank you From. Canada. P. Q
Hi Aoibhe, this is absolutely stunning. I am new to Tunisian but attempting to follow along and try this pattern. I have a few questions if I may. Foundation chain of 21, u have added 23, when we make a larger size, should i do multiples of 21 and then 2 extra or multiples of 23? Also post the foundation chain, row 1 and 2 gets repeated or does it move down in a desecding pattern in rows , downwards to 4 simple TS to 3 etc. Thank you for the guidance
Hi, Shivani! These videos aren't designed as a stand alone video pattern, they're a guide to accompany the written pattern. Have you got a copy of that? All the bits not covered in the videos are covered at length in the text. If you'd like a copy, you can click here: yarntowers.com/product/lasa/ I hope this helps, and thanks for watching!
@@Aoibhe_Ni I just picked up your pattern. Will go through and check back if ok , if i am a bit lost
Have sent you a few mails to understand the pattern. Thanks so much
Very well explained. Thank you 💖
You are most welcome!
Beautiful and you're an amazing teacher. I'm doing a shawl as well in tonisian, but I'm surelyb going to make this stunning one. I'm a crochet and a knitter and I love tunisian crochet. Have a wonderful day 💞
That's lovely of you to say, Connie, thank you! Have a great day, yourself!
Can u pls share the full chart pls
Hi, Ranita! The full chart is available as part of the pattern. You can find it here: yarntowers.com/product/lasa/
Beautifully taught, thank you!
Thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful!
Exactly what I needed - thanks!
I'm thrilled I could help! Good luck with your project!
Oh my! Thank you for the tutorial. So great! Thank you!
You're welcome!!
Nice!
I love the trimmer cord idea! Thank you Aoibhe!
how about for when I need to only increase in one side? i was planning to do this for a cardigan, and i was wondering how I would do the V neck for the front 2 panels
Well, without seeing the pattern it's hard to be specific, but my advise there would be to work the above sequence on both sides of the V neck, and then give it a few rows without any decreases. If that gives you a bit of a wobbly edge you can always use the above but add two blank rows between each row of the decrease sequence.
@@Aoibhe_Ni thank you!!

Do the same thing, but closer to the edge instead of the middle!
This should have way more views than it does! Thank you SO MUCH!
That's very kind of you to say. Thank you!
Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you! ❤️
