In any online writing, it's so strange to me that we almost never ever see paragraph indentation anymore. It confuses me most of the time, because I'm inclined to do so, but remember it hardly exists in the internet realm!
There is definitely different rules for different avenues of writing. I think the best thing to consider in any space is "Is this readable for everyone? Does it makes sense without indents?" But yes, some rules are becoming phased out in some spaces.

Hi, can you help me why does the last sentence in each page jump to another page and thus the one inch bottom margin doesnt look like one inch? This is for my thesis and i hope someone would help me this problem. This has always been a major comment of my professor and i cant figure it how to fix it.Thanks for the response.
I assume you're working in Word. If the margin is set at 1" then it's probably just that doing its thing. Even if it looks more to you, it might not be. Do you have page numbers? That sometimes will make it look like more than 1" as well. Also, check your paragraph marks-maybe you have a page break or something in there. Use Ctrl (CMD) + Shift + 8 to show marks. Hope that helps.

Hi, Sue. I thought you'd like to know another great feature of Google docs track changes you missed called Suggestion mode. When this feature is enabled it works similarly to Word's track changes by striking through text and replacing with corrections, rearranging text, or adding text. In the upper right, there's a pencil icon, click that and you'll see the drop-down menu for edit mode (editing the document directly), suggestion mode (where your edits are visible in green), or viewing mode. I use Google docs in my editing business all the time because I don't use Microsoft or Apple software, but happily use Linux. I hope this helps. : )
Thank you so much for your input. I have recently run across this feature in Google as well. I only work in Word because the publishers I work for require that. I do have one client who is using Google docs and we've been able to share back and forth across programs easily. :) And I actually got a lot of my info from my friend Tom who is just like you and uses only Linux.
