Cheap concrete rings are mounted on sheet weed block. A solar powered drip irrigation system is installed to bring well water to each pot. The flow of water can be adjusted by a tap at each pot. The pots are filled with a mixture of top soil, rice husks, dried cow manure and burnt wood chips/rice husks for the local bio electric plant. 3.6kW, but the supplied adapter is rated for only 2.6kW, so I bought an after market one. I only use mine at night as I have solar. It can run 2 aircons (8,500 BTU) multiple fans as well as stuff that is switched on 24/7 like fridges, freezers, and servers.

    I am totally blown away by your commonsense approach and use of known physics to build your home. I have recently moved here and am renting a hot box. I began thinking about all of the elements you have explained in the website and cannot understand how ignorant people are that they have black anything here. I was involved in a project years ago to insulate the roof of a school of 5000m2 and used a thermilate paint on top of the galvanised roof. We had to spray and ensure a 5 micron layer. The before and after surface. temperature was exactly as you have shown in many places. The logic of practical application over aesthetics is lost on most people especially here where the aspiration is to be euro like. Your execution is testimony to your intellect and logic and the execution is proof that you live comfortably in an inhospitable climate. The costs to build were way beyond anything affordable here by the mainstream population but kudos to you!

    Very nice presentation!, im planning to build a similar well insulated house here in southern Thailand. I wonder during these extreme heat(april 2024) how much does your insulation help and also how much energy spike during these times.

    • @EcoHouseThailand
      @EcoHouseThailand หลายเดือนก่อน

      Insulation slows the process of temperature equalization inside to outside. I have 8,500 BTU aircons. My living room is 32m2 and is comfortably cool. My condo in BKK has a living room a third of the size with an aircon 3Xs as big and still my tennant complains it’s too hot. As I am off-grid with no electric meter so I’m not too bothered about electric usage as my solar covers it.

    Hi, Peter from Slovakia here. I have Ioniq 5 and intend to power my house with v2l too. However, the output from the car is one phase only. Does your inverter accept this? Plus, if you wish to top up your home battery from your Seal, you must certainly reduce the charging power to keep the house running. The home battery cannot be charged and discharged at the same time. Is it so? Thanks for your reply

    • @EcoHouseThailand
      @EcoHouseThailand 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes my inverter is single phase. I have set my inverter to only charge my home batteries from Solar. I’m not sure if you seen all three videos I have done on V2L, but I talk about running the house load only and only at night. This preserves my home batteries.

Doesnt seem to be this capability in the car either unless I'm missing a trick? Even with the car set to charge for 4 hours (with charge to 100% unticked) it still charged to 100% - about 6 hours thus ignoring the 4 hour schedule (12:30am to 4:30am) that I'd set on the car display

    My brother wrote a book called The Superinsulated House in 1982 (the first book was published in 1976). He lived in Fairbanks, Alaska. You can still find the used book on line for purchase. From your comments, it would appear Thailand is where Alaska was almost 50 years ago. Though Alaska is still building the same sorry house from over 50 years ago too, many are much better, almost exclusively due to a proper vapor barrier, as the insulation in walls is mostly R19. Great to find a knowledgeable owner/builder should I ever build here. Interestingly, my brother pointed out that when they were building the Palace Versailles, they were still stacking brick one on top of the other in Thailand.

But I can get a router with a 5G SIM card and a year’s wireless from AIS is ß2500, which is what some people pay for two months of fiber. WiFi 6+ mesh inside the house means I’m loosing out on nothing. Off grid is the way to be ❤

      I’ve watched them, thank you! Your system is quite large. I’m consuming 8000kWh per year, plus AC maybe 5000kWh per year (haven’t experienced hot season yet so it is only estimated). Electric car not included (as I currently run a Toyota) but I believe we would not use more than 20kWh in a single day, and maybe 4500kWh per year. My thought was using V2L the battery investment could be it so high, as the car sits at home most of the time. How does this compare to your setup, if you don’t mind me asking? Maybe I misunderstood your video, but would it be possible having solar, grid, backup, and V2L in one unit? Thank you very much for reading.
