Wow great video! Do you know the voltage of the blue on/off signal wire from the display to the controller?
@koplarf I'm happy you liked it! The blue wire from the display is the same voltage from the battery. So if your battery is 42 volts (36v nominal), it should read around 42 volts.

What about the pedal assist? Mopeds don't have PAS. How about the PAS?
@MrLarry-gr8 if you watch from 5:41, you can see that I show the PAS wires. and yes, mopeds don't come with pedals, so it can't have pedal assist. But if you really want to know what wire is what, then brown is 5v, black is negative, and yellow is signal. To simplify it, just connect it color to color
I can make my hyper ebike do that without a throttle 😂
@@MikeBurns-sk4vs how?
Super Capacitors, certainly, can be used for spot welding. Try 2X LSUC 3000F/2.8V (Made in Korea) 4X46145 Na+ (Sodium Ion Battery) Salt Battery Can start any Vehicle. No BMS required. Can be charged with 14V@10A straight for 30 Mts (if need be). Try. Best wishes.
You would get better results if you used welding electrodes made from CuCrZr alloy and not pure copper.
@bzdzgwa Thanks, can I buy these electrodes? Or would I have to machine a chunk of this stuff.
That setting is in percentage of max capabilities not kilometers an hour.
Bardzo dobry film . Pozdrawiam z Polski 🚴
So I connected ebike controller to rear hub but when spin wheel by hand doesn't spin freely turn power off then spins freely
@aurorakitty5881 it didn't happen to me. Maybe you got a defective one, so try getting a replacement. Amazon has a 30-day return policy
Your phase wire configuration for hall sensors is off. Sometimes the colors don’t match right.
Watch the nine minute mark of this video. You will need to do exactly this in order to find the correct config.
Thank you for your wonderful effort and detailed and professional explanation. More videos 🙏🌏❤️
I try my best, more videos coming
I recommend high flow V fittings and quick connects and upgraded 3/8 or full size air hoses. EVEN with small capacity compressors. Keep a couple different hose lengths. Shorter ones will have faster airflow and more performance. I GUARANTEE YOU it will perform much better powering just about everything. Double check the accuracy of the pressure the compressor is rated to fill the tank to and carefully adjust if needed. Make sure no connections are loose and double check all fittings. Check after a few uses to ensure through use nothing loosened. With these tweaks i can run an impact wrench at full beans and it actually zips off bolts without struggling. and so it doesn't rapidly drain the tank because it can run more efficiently with maximum torque. Air blower tools are crazy powerful and have some real kickback and can nearly double as a leaf blower. The high flow fittings and upgraded or full size air hoses make a world of a difference. Really skyrockets the value of the air compressor and makes it highly capable.
@@realflow100 thanks for the info
@@ElectronicLab. also upgraded my air pressure regulator with a high flow model. the difference in performance with all these upgrades is massive. it helps even more since my air compressor came with terribly restrictive connect fittings and regulator. and wimpy thin hose.
Why do you not have more views!? your videos seem really good 👍 keep it up bro
I know, Thanks
Ahhh sweet you made it so simple to work out where wires go and individually wot they do cheers
Can you show us how you could bypass the ebike battery and hook up a 12V with a boost converter? I'm assuming the 12V battery would last longer, also you can charge it with a solar panel. Lol Every wants to go faster. I'm looking to last longer. Lol What's the best way for that? Parallel two ebike battery's? Or a high Amp 12V battery with boost converter?
Good idea but, it's not comfortable when the chair has a cable laying down, maybe one day you could stumble on it and it will disconnected on a good way, at the bad way you just could run over and destroy the power cable, I think the better it be to power up it with some battery
@@seab0y good idea
Don't put batteries in the regular bin, must be recycled properly
@Randombourg right, it can be dangerous. I did not end up throwing it out, only for the video.
You normally need to swap the hall sense wires aswell.
@scottrocks1993 maybe, but it worked for me more than once.
OMG 😱 run for your life, he has a throttle 😮😅
Hey man, I was wondering if I could put a 48 V battery in it and keep everything else stock is that possible? If not, could you tell me how I could do it?Thanks
My batter wire is 2 copper wires red n black n controller is an xd 60 connector if i put in will it work
@yaboiant0816 are you replacing your motor controller on your ebike?
What would I have to do if I put a 48v battery in it and kept everything else stock
@rehmankhalil4057 If you just want to replace a 36-volt battery with a 48-volt battery, while keeping everything stock. I can't guarantee that nothing will blow up. If you want to follow the steps I did (which worked), I would recommend you buy this motor controller and just change the voltage settings through the display: 250-watt motor controller: amzn.to/3CMqKjO (Amazon) As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. @ Glad I helped
You dont necessarily need to cut wires right, depending on your controller
@MohsenBadry-ej3yj if you just want to install an axact replacement controller, then you don't need to cut wires. But if you want to add a throttle onto your ebike, then you're gonna have to cut wires: I made a more in-depth video on replacing ebike controllers: th-cam.com/video/ONj4bckMyuE/w-d-xo.html
Love this
Ahhh hell nah
Hi, what if i fix everything but i get an error 30, what then?
An "error 30" on an e-bike display typically indicates a "communication error," meaning there is a problem with the connection between the display unit and the bike's controller, often due to loose or damaged wires between the two components. make sure to double check the connection, and if you already did, then get a replacement display from amazon (amazon has a 30 day return policy).
@ tysm! Much appreciated! Been looking for answers on the web but didn’t get a specific answer! Thanks again!
Hey I have a flat five pin connector for my hub motor and I can’t find any controller with the female connector could I just twits the wires together and cover them to get it to work?
@microsoftword4045 Yes, but if you want it to last, I recommend soldering or crimping the wires and then covering it with heat-shrink.
Nice! This diy hack always seemed to be a tough one for home gamers to get right without a battery fire :D
How many Pedal Assist modes does it have. The orginal had 3 levels
I think the default is 3, but it can go up to 5. Watch this video to understand more about ebikes (one of my latest videos): th-cam.com/video/ONj4bckMyuE/w-d-xo.html
I was thinking about this and whether it would be possible to change a regular car battery to a supercalacitor
I actually did this in one of my previous videos. I've made a video on using these super capacitors to slowly charge itself up from a dead car battery in order to jump start it. Check it out! th-cam.com/video/7jPfwA_tocE/w-d-xo.html

Misleading video, I didn't see any ants 😁😁
@masteryoda394 It's actually "amps," not "ants." I used speech to text, I guess AI is not there yet. Lol🤣
@ElectronicLab. 😉😂😂
Yeah, I have a capacitor hooked up in my car, car audio reasons but helps it start all the same, to the tune of 15 farads. But it's not a straight electrolytic capacitor, because boy, wouldn't that be huge, but a hybrid, so it essentially looks like a small amp with roughly a ten inch by ten inch by four inch foot print. It's like a $600 capacitor. It's enough, when combined with a 850cca AGM battery to keep the voltage above 12 volts with the stock alternator and roughly 2500 watt RMS. Even in the dead of winter that sucker cranks fast
@@wewillsurviveone Nice!
Brother, that's not true. Super capacitor working voltage is 2.7~2.8 . If you use 5 Super Capacitors the cumulative Voltage total comes to13.5V DC. So far good. But remember.... The Alternator output is around 14.5V DC @ 100A (depending on vehicles) continuous . you may fry the capacitors or burst it causing untold issues. There's no discussion on Root Mean Square measurement, here. Please take care.
@sreekumarUSA what? Bro, it's a Rockford fosgate competition capacitor of the hybrid variety so electrolysis and ceramic I believe, but don't quote me. But it's rated at something like 18 volts. I think you're thinking of a specific "super capacitor", not what I have as it's specifically for this application. As well there's many half farad to around 2.5 farad electrolysis (typical round case) polarized capacitors that are rated between 16 volts to 24+volts that are made just for car audio so the ones that are on your typical circuit boards, these are not. They would have been little fire crackers trying to use them for this
Do you have a tutorial

That soldering job is truely a work of art!
Hey, nice project there! By the way, can i use 500w microwave transformer? Or maybe 800w will be enough?
@Zen2ncd I think I used either an 800-watt or 1000-watt microwave. so definitely not a 500-watt, but I would recommend using a 1000-watt microwave just to be safe and not to waste your time if it doesn't work. Also, make sure not to power on the microwave transformer before removing the high voltage winding. Don't forget to short the high voltage capacitor with a screwdriver, in order to prevent getting a deadly shock.

CCA is the expected amperage available at temperature below 32⁰f. At warmer temp expect cranking ups at least 25% higher. If you can change the battery tester to CA cranking amps you'll get a more accurate measurement

the temperature derating is for lead acid typical behaviour. caps don't really derate in the freezing because they don't store energy chemically. so a 'warm cranking amps' test would turn out more precise. but caps also drop in voltage while supplying loads. lead acid batterys don't do that in the usual 1-2 seconds. sooo maybe the CCA test isn't too far off.
If you connect the power supply, then turn it on it will not spark.

Dude get out to this world WHAT 637A dude that's unreal
Most 4WD car batteries are higher than that
@staples4335 dude he say 637mah this is unreal that's fake
@1rNick No. 637 CCA is what he said. CCA being cold cranking amps. The battery in my 4wd is 650 CCA and thats the stock size. i have had other optima yellow top batteries that are 950 CCA.
all fun and games until super capacitors start doing super capacitor things 😅
If you make sure not to overcharge it, overheat it, or worst of all, reverse the polarity, it should be just fine(fine = won't explode).
637 Cold Cranking Amps is what your battery tester is telling you. Your actual amperage is much higher.
@@bluekarnage1985 Interesting
your*
it IS higher because the tester calculated the -18°C derating for lead acid in BUT it can't ever hold as long of breath as lead acid. so one or two short cranks and done. i've seen a diesel coldstart video and the guy kept cranking over 40 seconds until it finally ignited the fuel and ran like bollocks you wouldn't pull that off with a few caps 😉 and nobody needs a jumperpack in summer. you need them (if even) for the nasty frost season while turning 5 seconds +.
