I do not find those discrimination at all, It happen in Europe. For example, most of the interviews comment is coming from Lack of knowledge of Japanese culture. I feel sorry for Japan.

If this is true, how unfortunate and hypocritical, Japanese Citizens are very welcomed in the United States (big mixing bowl). Yet when Americans go to Japan, we get some level of discomfort, indifference, xenophobia and discrimination, especially with people of color (I'm a back American and have been to beautiful Japan). Maybe they should consider a little more about the origin of modern humans (homo-sapiens-sapiens) which are from the African continent, who later migrated all over the world. This also means that everyone, from all over the world, come from the same people but their most ancient ancestors were actually of a much darker pigmentation(what we call black today) , so relax brothers and sisters, take a chill pill, we are all one human family (99.9% of the same DNA). The other .01% is from our different characteristics, which is from our adaptive unique stationary UVR's environments.

Yes I’ve found this in Kyoto totally rude on the buses when their economy is a tourism economy. Also the worst behaved people I saw were Japanese business men drunkenly singing and dancing incredibly loudly in the super private Gion streets with all the camera signs .. NOT tourists !

Many people of the Japanese race have the foolishness of trying to replace the objective framework with a subjective framework for their own selfish convenience. Furthermore, they perform a comedy in which such an attitude invites a battle of subjectivities, and instead ends up being directed at a framework that is not suitable for their convenience.

The way foreigners are treated in Japan is unfortunate. I have traveled most of the world and can easily say discrimination is at the forefront in Japan. I hope the people that are discriminatory travel and are treated in the same way.

As a Japanese, I'm very surprised by this video and comment section. I thought, each people has each different rhythm and style of life for their own, and 99.99% of the people on the Earth are trying to keep them and not ready for the sudden contact with foreign people. So, these things are kinda natural and can happen often even among Japanese people. But, this comment section says I was very wrong.

I wouldn't call it racism, but rather a healthy and justified distrust of strangers and their appearance and behavior. The mere fact that 6,635 crimes were committed by the American occupying forces alone. Including the most serious crimes such as murder and rape, the youngest victim was a fourteen-year-old girl who was brutally raped by 4 American soldiers and died as a result. There is hardly any prosecution. If you look at some videos from Japan and see how some foreign tourists behave and the damage they sometimes cause, I admire the Japanese patience to endure this. You should always keep in mind that you are just a guest in this country. As soon as I enter this country, I automatically submit to the laws and rules and, especially in Japan, have to exercise absolute restraint. That without any ifs or buts. It would perhaps be appropriate for the Japanese government and the tourism industry in Japan to fundamentally rethink and revise their concept. It would also be appropriate to drastically increase and expand the penalties for tourists who misbehave. High prison sentences, high fines and expulsion should be reconsidered. One should also keep in mind that Japan is an almost closed society, sometimes with rules and rites that seem foreign to us. What we may perceive as racism is a completely normal reaction from the Japanese. Look at the chaos in the USA and Europe, maybe the Japanese don't want it to end like this?! An example from Germany, here it can happen if you publicly say that you are proud to be German and fly the German flag and claim and prove that there are only two genders, all hell breaks loose and there is a risk of criminal consequences. Anyone who knows Berlin and has to see how tourists move and behave almost every day may understand the Japanese, who certainly don't want to have such conditions.

Can someone please read me in detail? can i have your attention? i have been asking myself these questions for years. i really like japan in its landscapes, products and aesthetics, but i have a deep aversion and disgust for its people, because i have not learned anything good about their culture. it seems like cowardice and hypocrisy with their "tatemae". it is more excessive than in other countries. they think they can avoid conflicts this way but not with people like me ,i am not fooled. how can i respect their culture if they are all like that? How can i trust them and hear their honesty? don't ask me to learn fluently their language for years, it is too demanding and difficult. what are the chances of meeting japanese people ready to show their honesty and emotions , very slim of course? until i have answers, i will remain racist until the end of my days. I'm sick of these people who say that we should learn Japanese, just because they are smiling, polite and force themselves to help people they don't know.

When I go shopping, Japanese people always consider me a criminal (shoplifter), and plainclothes security guards always follow me and keep an eye on me. Japanese people always give me a disgusted look when I make eye contact with them. Japanese people in the neighborhood too. Do they just look different? I don't know. I often see people who are obviously cold towards and unconsciously aggressive others.

I really understand that no person in the world want to be touched in a wrong way, but in my experience, foreign friends who are not used to being touched, can learn to be cool with this, when they have foreign friends for YEARS! I think, as long as it is a simple thing like handshakes or tipping shoulders or arms, when you want their attention, is a common thing in many other countries. On the other hand hugs are a common thing, too. but this is a thing where I could understand that a lot of people will never be comfortable with. Because there are a lot of people who don't like it, even in countries where it is common :D
