FIlipinos are known being resilient and mainly because of the wars/fights we've had in the past. Isama mo pa diyan yung mga bagyo, sakuna at kalamidad na nararanasan natin, patin narin yung hirap ng buhay, eh talagang titibay ka talaga! Obviously, yung pakikipag away or gera ay hindi naman yung tipong trip lang naten gawin. Sino ba naman ang gusto nun? As much as possible, iiwasan. Pero merong isang away or gera na di iniiwasan at inuurungan ng mga pinoy, you know what that is? BOODLE FIGHT! That's right! Siguardong kikiligin ka pag narinig mo to kasi unang papasok sa isip mo is sobrang daming pagkain!
The boodle fight originated in the Philippine Military Academy among cadets. They would collect food, cook it using makeshift methods, and eat it together quickly after their officials left following room inspections. They would use an iron to cook dried fish, boil noodles with an electric heater, lay out plastic or newspaper, and then spread rice, noodles, dried fish, and other instant food items. Once everything was ready, they would commence the boodle fight and eat quickly to avoid being caught by their officials.
This tradition eventually spread from military camps to Filipino households and communities, becoming a popular way to celebrate special occasions and gatherings. The communal eating experience reflects Filipino values of unity, sharing, and togetherness.
