I plugged in my headset with the microphone built in and it works but when I record audio it doesn't record the sound effects

You could use an external phantom power box and go from that out into this.

The audio of the pc also goes thru the output idk why but i think the whole thing is trash lol

I barely got through the first lady. She's one huge contradictory mess. What really stuck out at me is that she states that she's this big time conservative Christian, and the dragon represents the satanic, but yet, she LOVES Game of Thrones, and I bet the reason why she loves that show is because that's how she sees life in general. Not through the teachings of Christ, you know, in order to be more Christ like, which her and many others don't seem to follow at all. "Hiawassee is a beautiful community" as long as you do and act like they want you too. They're exclusive, not inclusive, which is why they've turned "woke" into a pejorative, instead of its original meaning of, being alert to discrimination and injustice. How those people acted in the council meeting is exactly who they are. As Maya Angelou stated, "when people show you who they are, believe them." This is basically what she's saying: "He has every right to do what he wants with his property, as long as it's ok with us conservative Christians, who claim that we believe in constitutional and property rights, and want people to stay out of our business, but it's ok for us to be all up in yours, and in the end telling you what you can and cannot do." Whether people want to admit it or not, there's always the undercurrent of Conservative Christian oppression in this area.

I have a question for you. You seem to be presenting yourself as a bonafide journalist. So, I am wondering if you asked the individuals to whom you were speaking / interviewing / filming if you could have their permission to video them and to publish their thoughts and images on a public website such as NextDoor, Facebook, TH-cam or other. If I had been there, the first thing that you would have gotten from me in 0:20 response to your actions would have been a firm statement telling you to stop recording me and yo delete any recordings that you may have already made. You should know that I reside in the next county and state neighboring Hiawassee. I am keenly aware of many Hiawasseans’ strong reactions toward the proposed “Dragon Sculpture. But it is really none of my business and I would have attended the gathering merely out of curiosity. The tone of your video posted here seems to mirror the tone you report that others were using toward you. That being said, here is my advice to all involved-always remember that respect breeds respect, and disrespect breeds disrespect. I strongly advise both sides to take time to cool off. After all, it is normal and natural for folks to have disagreements, but it takes two antagonists to make a fight. You could have just walked away. And, as I recall, the issue has now been peacefully settled, even though both groups of adults initially hot their feelings hurt.

Maybe Hiawassee should change its name to Karenville.

I'm appreciative that you took on this project. Again, it is my conviction that the true issue was zoning, and that the dragon fit well into the agenda. Whether by design or default, it troubles me that the community's emotions were exploited. I was saddened to learn about the treatment that you received at the city council meeting. As a former journalist myself, I met my share of hostility, but rest assured that the "mob" encountered is not an accurate representation of everyone's views. The divide between the locals & transplants is very real, but I have found that the animosity stems from move-ins who strive to make "here" like "there." Although I've called the Georgia mountains home since 1989 - (My family relocated from suburban Atlanta when I was 14) - I am technically a transplant to Towns County despite marrying into an old, native family. Making "here" like "there" includes zoning regulations and unnecessary government oversight in my book. Keep up the good work, and best wishes in your future endeavors, wherever they may lead.

The women who spoke near the start of the city meeting were embarrassing for us all. i read on fb where one described her self as business savvy and influential 😂 maybe among the low iq simpletons of the area. They fit the mold to a T. They all made them selves look fools with the exception of Pastor Steve and the building code man.

A lot of those interviewed said what happened at the town hall meeting did not represent the people in the community, but sadly it did. All in all, it reminded me of an out of control mean-girl clique from high school. Comment on video: Very well done, I enjoyed the answer and question format. I could hear the women well, but I had some difficulty hearing some of the men (could be a ME issue with the hearing)

I think you should have added the clips from the city council meeting. Maybe if these people saw how they were acting, they would be ashamed and think about it.

I didn't attend the meeting, but I live in Towns county. I had followed the FB thread (mostly laughing) and heard afterward about the behavior at the meeting. Enjoyed your documentary! BTW, I didn't have strong feelings either way, although I kind of thought the dragon would be cool.

These are truly the most hateful judgmental people. I moved there from Atlanta & people were so awful (“we only want people like us here”) that I left after 6 months. I have a place there & in Atlanta & go back & forth. I would stay in the mountains if the people weren’t so incredibly hateful & ignorant. The town is a cliche & the fact that a man can’t do what he wants with his money & his property blows my mind. Thank you for covering this. Maybe some of the locals will realize how shameful their “Christian” behavior is. I didn’t go to the town hall meeting because I knew what it would be- the townsfolk with their pitchforks. Pathetic.

The hiawassee dragon war will sure put you on the map if your still thinking on it. Its a sad example of how local people treat anyone who thinks outside the box even if its on their own stinking land! Now we will get zoning restrictions and those same people are gonna have a bigger problem than a silly dragon on a hillside! This story isn't over. I was sorry to read that you were treated poorly by the towns folk. I have lived here 12 years and I feel disrespected. This is our home and we pay taxes too! We have a say!
