The Kriegs are looking really cool! Have you seen them yet? Also, nice to meet a fellow ranga :D
THEY LOOK SO COOOOL
Get creative painting a minuature, or be a slave to endless questing and looting, with no real emotional gratification. Choices, choices...
love your work on the viking boy
Cadian's because you'll never regret getting it done.
I like your little dudes. For eyes I usually just tap some silver into them and then put a transparent color over them. Makes some decent glowey eyes, especially on full helmets. Might be worth a shot.
That's a really good idea I'll give that a go thanks!
Get Ur girl to do the eyes
That's some nice paint
I'm just starting my journey too! It'll be fun to keep up with you, looking forward to all the new vids! Also, Mango :D
@geekwad Thank you friend! what army did you pick?
@@breadguytv I went with the Ork Kommandos! Just got done priming them and will start dry brushing tomorrow. Trying to get them as ready as I can for this weekend, my game store is running a huge kill team event
I had to snip a brush down to do the eyes on my seraphon army some of the skinks eyes were tiny and not to mention the aggradon Lancers 😂 my first attempt went poorly with my small orc figurines i made them all boss eyed so when i look at them they dont look back at me the look in different directions, i literally made a squad of handicapped orcs 😂
Very respectable indeed
The details are immaculate! I’ve recently started a line of Mk3 space marines because they have very few minute details - but this is IMPRESSIVE
@jahsunnewman-makekau3133 Thank you friend!
I like that Horde Symbol :D
@@FNCMontragor My good friend welded that and painted it for me many years ago
@@breadguytv daaaamn that looks really good! Didn’t expect that to be home made. Props to your friend!
That’s bloody good job mate
Thank you so much!
@@breadguytv np and about the eyes if your up to getting a every small tipped brush , you should carefully apply white then a black to show the eyes but honestly I don’t do it , and I play Astra mil fir 4 years now
Happy birthday you old fart!
Ork!
I just recently got into 40K about a month and a half ago. Started with black templars and immediately switched focus to the Orks and love the whole mad max aesthetic. I have no desire to play at the moment just want to build and paint and maybe someday build a moc
@@mybigchevyhd I have a box of shame with orcs I'll upload later I got Boyz fatigued but I was trying to hard to make an ork army perfect
@@breadguytvright now that’s my black Templars lol. I got the Orks to experiment and learn painting and then went down the lore and add the whole mad max theme which has such a neat aesthetic.
Since second Edition Kill Team i kinda stopped playing 40k for only Kill Team. Was also thinking about Blood Bowl. Is it a good Game?
@chouleo No clue I'm still painting the minis I just dry brushed them tonight :p
Huge Militarum player, it is a blast! It's a learning curve trying to remember what all your unit do, but when you get past that, you'll have a good time, my friend!
With the death korps killteam you can have all 4 gunners and the sniper i hope that help, love the terrain
That tank filling is legit, learn something from you too, keep it up!
My quick tip that only adds a small amount of time: With broken terrain I like to blend the destruction by making the 2 inches between where the layers and the walls merge pop. For the 2nd story with the red, I'd leave it. It looks great. I would simply take a few small chunks of leftover sprues cut into small broken bits and randomly glue them around the 2 inch mark, while slowly accumulating some on the walls to sell the damage. This is always favoring downward. Between the new parts and the fresh walls/floor tiles I slightly scratch, dimple and otherwise add small damages to all surfaces. The more random the better! Next, I then scatter paint via aggressively flicking my brush with the same base colors all around the 2 inch mark, especially downward, and then slowly feather out the texture. At this step, slap-chop and layered dry-brushing skills come in. After a quick touch-up, the destruction of the terrain feels completely different. The building goes from being a perfectly cropped feature to a believable remnant from a lost time. Your miniatures feel like they are trudging through a battlefield, not a stage. It only takes about 10-15 minutes extra, but adds a ton for the eyes throughout the game. The terrain also looks much better in the display case with your minis after the battle.
I love walking alongside others in their hobbying journey. Definitely subbing to see your progress!
@@richardmartin6069 Thanks!
Great attitude to not want everything painted perfect, it slows progress to a halt and then you keep thinking more about painting than you paint. As Uncle Adam says "Done is better than perfect." Also love the solution for the barrel, you could also use part of the packaging from a Warhammer kit or cereal box so you don't have to cut up parts of other hobbies :) Also if you think you might like the tanks in yellow, just leave them you can always come back and put some contrast on it, especially if you already feel the terrain burn out coming. As it stands now it is already great to play on and more finished than probably most terrain out there :D As a general rule of thumb to keep the pile of shame growing slow: only buy new stuff as a reward for finishing something.
Just a little advice from personal experince as someone getting back to hobby after ten years off and also doing guard, pick a colour scheme thats easy to repeat (since you'll be painting a lot of units) and I'd hold off on more units till you finish the ones you've got, since guard can take a while to paint depending on the level of detail you want to include and you dont want a massive pile of grey shame or to burn yourself out. Id also say wait until the new release of kreig comes out. Another handy tip i found when it came to painting the combat patrol was do a test mini and maybe save the command squad till last since you'll have a good rhythm by then, anyways goodluck and have fun!
Mango. Fairly new myself. Enjoy the hobby!!!
That terrain is a great step for your gaming. I'd suggest a second Cadian combat patrol as guard infantry are not it's strongest feature if you know what I mean 😮
I started 3 weeks ago with 2 issues of combat Patrol magazine. Already sitting on a pile of shame :D following your journey
Welcome aboard. Explore, have fun, find your own way and let no one tell you what to do and how to do it 🤝🏼

3 thing 1 . Happy to see you in the hobby , I my self has been in the hobby for 4 years and it’s the best hobby I’ve ever touched. 2. Kill team is the best to start with and yes the human drop troops are from the Astra militarum (my favourite army) 3. Welcome to the hobby of an empty wallet and I really hope to see you do more with it ! Good Luck 😊
You can keep the top of the sentinel to change it from an armoured to a scout sentinel. It doesn’t need gluing you can just put the little hat on and you then have options! Just so you know 😊
good luck -------> I have been collecting since 1996 and still not done ( 10k points worth of just Imperial Guard ) Guard is one of most expensive factions if not the most if collecting everything Guard Guard has 5 major styles 1) "pure" Infantry 2) Artillery / WW1 style 3) Tank / Rommel and Kursk of WW2 4) Mech Infantry and 5) Balanced That's not counting "flyers" & "super heavy tanks" Basically you will have 5 to 6 Armies in 1 faction
Welcome, brother!
Welcome, hope you enjoy the hobby
Here's my 2 cents worth. Watch as many utube vids as you can, on painting, 40K Lore, and after Battle reports. You can watch them on a laptop whilst you're actually painting so they provide added information as well as entertainment. Don't worry about your noob level at the moment, things will improve with constant hands on and experience. 40K is vast and there is always something for everyone's journey into it. Slowly build a library up and put posters on the wall, especially around your painting desk. Welcome to the most popular game of table top battles. Ps: Take a look at Necromunda. Mango
What is that shelf for your paints ? :)

@@breadguytv nice, i found it ! Thank you !
1) Mango 2) ur first model was way better than mine 3) they are indeed doing a major DeathKorps of Krieg launch for guard 4) Guard is one of the more expensive armies right now so prepare for that
@ColbySherwood-j4r thank you! yeah I was warned about costs but it doesn't seem so bad compared to MTG ;)
If its available, i recomend getting a few base sets of other brands of paints, warpaints fanatics, pro acryl, and vallejo all have advantages and disadvantages relative to citidel, but mostly advantages
@kiraangle2823 I have my eye on the 50 paint fanatic set from army painter yo try other paints
@@breadguytv fanatic paints should be good for starters, opacity is a huge thing, i have a purple from reaper paints with functionly zero coverage, amd many reds take multiple coats. You expect it for yellow, not red and purple
Saw the title and subbed. Welcome my bro.
@@tonydiep6415 Thank you friend!
Kill team is technically a different game, but it's actually a better starting point for the hobby than normal 40k. You only need one kill team to play (the death korp team is kind of an exception, you do need the second box) Tempestus aquilons are Astra militarum, the vespids are Tau The spray can is fine for priming/base coating Warning: tyranids are very much a horde army, but consider building and painting the termagants you already have because kill team can use them for it's single player option. There is absolutely nothing wrong with just building and painting the models, playing the game is optional.
Boarding Actions or 500 , 1,000 point games are the best way to start Kill team points and style are complete different . Kill team is just a boxing set up to buy your 40k squads for most people
@rodneygaul2227 I only brought it up because he straight up stated that he had a couple kill teams on hand alongside the hivestorm box which has two more teams, this year's base terrain set, and all the rules/tokens/equipment/mission deck for the game. Basically he already has everything to play kill team so why not give it a shot?
Been in and out since I was 10 or so I am now 33. I personally no longer support GW or buy their stuff any more but enjoy their models (mostly) I play OnePageRules now as I got sick of non stop major rule changes, updates and point changes insane prices and we have several years of very short editions of the game. But I hope you enjoy it and get alot out of it :-) I enjoy painting, printing models and playing from time to time. Oh yeah the paint you used for under coating is more than fine you do not need to use any special brand of anything if it works it works :-)
MANGO!!! Awesome man! The Imperial Guard were my first army when I got back into the hobby. The Guard will always be my true love but right when I got 2,000 points painted up these newer beautiful Cadian sculpts got announced 😅
@@ak_painting528o I'm torn between getting more and waiting for the krieg boxes to see what they come with.. so excited for a krieg line
Indeed! I’m toward between the same thing. I have plenty of kill team stuff to keep me busy in the mean time! 😅
I just actually returned my Hivestorm... and I'm so happy I did. Have better homemade terrain. Dont need an overpriced rule book that expires. Not a competitive player, so a lot is just not needed. Have proxies for almost all equipment from making stuff over the years, lol. I can see it being a good box for certain people, though. The savings is almost 200$, and that was my grab and the 2 new teams... and they don't even look fun after reading the rules and watching batreps...
Subbing for this content haha
Subbed my dude 🤙

sweet, i just started getting into the whole miniature thing as well, im waiting for the Starter set for killteam to release. Astra militarum is a really good pick.
