i think minecraft has been going the wrong way completely cuz you know how we've got thousands of mods allowing players to create within the game and make their own code with command blocks personally i think redstone was one of the best things ever added to minecraft because mojang lost track of what they should be doing a skill tree would be a cool idea but it would be better as a mod and i think mojang should've just made modding their game even easier than it already is because that's what makes it special

If they overhauled the enchantmenting system to be sorta like this instead of either rolling enchantments over and over which is boring or using villagers which is also boring it will probably be one of the most well received updates in recent memory even if it's not an end update

I recommend you guys to check the mod Better Leveling. It's more vanilla friendly than most skill mods.

Okay so big issue here. You are using the template’s for pufferfish’s mod. Those are not meant to be played with. They are not balanced. The mod is meant to be modified by modpack developers to fit their needs. Those two trees are just meant to show what is possible with the mod. Notice there is only a handful of repeated skills in the base tree and only 2 skills in the mining tree?

I LOVE THIS EDITING STYLE !!! I only meant to watch a little bit of this video and come back to it later, but the music, editing, and commentary kept me hooked for the whole thing! As for the skill tree, I like that it didn't intrude too much into the core gameplay, but still drastically changed it - really fun for a mod, but definitely not for a vanilla gamemode lol

So, I think this mod has potential, but it should add some changes: 1. Add options to also get armor points, multiply armor by maybe 5%. 2. Add some 'special' abilities, such as hit combos, more damage done from behind a mob, short distance teleportation, maybe absorption hearts. Nothing too flashy or different, try to keep the 'vanilla' feel. 3. Mob overhaul. More speed, damage, accuracy, health, armor over time, better chances to get armor and enchants, and also have more 'elite' mobs with status effects or smth like that. Make it so that it scales slightly faster than a player can upgrade skill trees to account for the player also getting better gear. Also, difficulty spikes after the wither and dragon. I feel like it should also expand the skill tree even more, and add some compat with existing boss mods, so there is always a harder difficulty. For example, with the Everbright / Everdawn mod, it can force you to switch to a different skill tree more tailored to the dimesnion; Entering new dimensions like the Nether could unlock new things, like fire res and soul speed, or slower falling + a chance for endermen to not aggro for the End, or maybe some 'abilities' like gliding for a short period of time, or doing a air boost that launches you upwards for the Aether. Idk i just wrote this in like 5 min. (also i think some 'Better Combat' mod compat would be sweet for more combos

Without fundamental changes to both vanilla & that skill tree system. Yes. With changes to both. YES! The last, nearly 50 years, have proven that Skill Systems are a great mechanic and would only add depth to the shallow system that MC has. But frankly I'd rather see a Unified MC exist first..

Unironically skill trees would totally ruin the game for me
