Tapflo UK were approached by Fareham College for a unique pump supply project. What started as a simple request quickly evolved into a ground-breaking custom project that not only showcased Tapflo UK’s engineering prowess but also played a pivotal role in shaping the future of marine engineering education at Fareham College.
The core of this project involved the creation of a dual centrifugal Pump system with an impressive capacity of 900m³/hr! System features include:
2 Centrifugal Pumps in duty standby mode, including:
• Large 10” basket strainer on the suction side
• Ball valves, check valves, globe valves, butterfly valves, knife gate valves and seat valves were incorporated
• Stainless Steel 304 pipework
• Heat exchanger routed and controlled within the system
• Pressure and temperature monitoring
• 4 drain valves which facilitated maintenance and system drainage
Small Centrifugal System:
• Suction and discharge isolation valve built onto a compact baseplate with dummy power isolator
• System allows them to undertake all isolations required to remove a pump as well as allow each student to have their own Centrifugal Pump to strip down and repair
Tapflo UK not only supplied the necessary equipment but also collaborated closely with Fareham College to design custom solutions tailored to their unique needs. We are so excited to share that what was originally conceived as a marine course is now an industry-leading curriculum centred around the systems provided by Tapflo UK.
