Today I show you how to wire a starter solenoid in you lawn mower/garden tractor
U did not show any thing
@kennethartis3964 i mean i showed quite a bit. Maybe pay more attention
Thank you ❤
Good demonstration keep up the good work. Thanks
Much appreciated video !!!!
Nice… Just picked up a rust free 01 Limited with 84k miles on it, same color.
I HAD A 1990 BUICK CENTURY LASTED 12 YEARS NO RUST STRONG CAR 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
ALL of those 5 prong switches are NOT the same, so a 5 prong switch may plug INTO the harness plug but the prongs go to different things, may very well FRY something
Great job! Very informative, you helped me solve the problem. Thanks!
Thank you for the advice just figured out my problem
Love to hear that it helped!
My car keeps overheating and I change the thermostat. What else can it be
Did you add any sealant into the radiator to fix any leaks? It could be your water pump, or if you added any sealant, it could have created blockages in the passages in the engine block. Also, make sure that the electric fans are kicking on after running the car for a while. The electric fans are located on the side of the radiator facing the engine. There are many different possibilities, and i recommend bringing it to a professional to diagnose the issue.
After you did the thermostat, did you bleed the air out of the system?
You’re totally my hero right now. Re-wiring the solenoid on an old tractor. I had no idea till I saw this video. Thank you!
No problem! Thanks for watching.
I just inherited a 2003 Buick Century Custom. 21 year old car with only 48K miles! The last owner, a family member, neglected this fine car the past 3 years, most notably the interior, as it was trashed to the point that it needs complete new carpet, and he was a heavy smoker to boot. So far, I’ve spent about $2,000 just trying to bring back into normal condition. I think it’s worth it because of the low mileage. It will become my daily driver once it’s professionally cleaned, and a couple minor scrapes repaired on the lower passenger door panels.

Deuteronomy 10:17 disagrees.
Great video! I'm currently trying to wire a key start onto a snapper RER that was a pull start. I think I have found out why it wasn't working. Thanks
Awesome! I am so glad the video helped. i was working on my project jacobsen tractor in the video. Sadly, i got rid of it and migrated to car work. Hopefully more videos coming out soon.
When anything ages it begins a journey into decay = it applies to machines and humanity. Nice is visual but what is reality is mechanical. So be prepared for one part at a time to need attention and they are numerous.
After having the car for almost a year now, i had to replace the computer. It was making the engine surge and high idle. Drove it a lot, and nothing has failed yet. Engine and tranny wise it is completely fine. Brought it in for inspection and found out that its really not worth putting money into because of the rust. I did brakes, control arms, and a wheel bearing myself. I used cheap parts because of the rust. Im gonna either get a solid century with a blown motor or tranny and swap them into it or just drive the car until it wont pass inspection anymore. I bought a buick lesabre that is much more solid, and i did brake lines, transmission lines, trailing arms, and a camshaft position sensor.
I was fortunate because the car never saw winter in SOCA. It's a great car. I've had it 14 years and its cost me $7-8K in repairs with most of the expense in the last three years. It has 158K miles on it = looks and runs new. If you take care of it, it will take care of you.
Great video & explanation, ty!!!
No problem!
Wires from safety switches go to the ignition key or to the starter selenoide?
They should just go to the solenoid. The safety switches were bypassed on my tractor.
Remove the headlight and drill a small drain hole underneath the lens.
Wire to the ignition switch goes "S" terminal.
great little video!!!! thank you for doing this it helped me a lot!
No problem! Im glad it helped!
I own a 2002 Buick Regal looks identical to the Century but I got the 3800 Series 2 motor runs like a champ 💪
Those regals are nice-looking cars!
@@CountrysideMechanic it’s like the century your century isn’t a bad car
@fordmustang98guy im thinking of swapping a regal gauge cluster into my car, i would like to have an rpm gauge, but i dont want an aftermarket gauge
My Grandfather has a Buick Century just like your 2003 however his Century is a 2000 model year it’s Been in my family since brand new, on his the rockers are super solid underneath it is totally rust free
That's awesome! How many miles?
@@CountrysideMechanic I believe it currently has 102,000km as of now
@fordmustang98guy wow, that's some good mileage.
@@CountrysideMechanic have you had any transmission issues with your Century?
@fordmustang98guy not yet. Its shifts are really smooth and drive well. It had high idling issues, and the problem was the computer. The tranny fluid is original and its still full and red.
Nice job buddy!
Great video! ❤
Thanks this helped me a lot and keep up the good work
I'm glad this helped you. Thanks for watching!
I like the century but the lesabre looks so much better
I agree! The lesabres do have good looking front ends to me. I love both equally.
Great running cars. That one has low miles too. I just sold mine but good running car none the less.👍🏾😎🏁🏁🏁
It has been a good car! I'm doing a wheelbearing and a tune up soon!
Nice car!! Got one just like it over the weekend.
Awesome! I love my century. It's been treating me good so far!
Looks really nice .Congrats on the new car!
Thank you!
So Basically... it's really simple. Just wire all your wires, and once you learn this, you know how to do wiring. Coz you know, basically, it's really simple.
I'm not saying all electrical is easy im just saying that this is a good way to get your foot in the door. I respect everybody in all trades. all trades have their difficulties. sorry, I'm only a teenager so maybe find somebody with more experience.
@@CountrysideMechanic mad respect to you countryside. For not even trying to be a ass to someone that was being a smart ass about your video. Glad u don't let people like so discouraged you. There is still more to learn but with everything I know about wiring and engines your video helped my yard get mowed. Thanks for your time.
Not very good instructions... you say the rt side goes to battery...BUT DOES IT GO TO THE POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE TERMINAL OF THE BATTERY?
positive. negative is always ground. what goes to the negative terminal is a wire connected to any peice of metal...such as the frame. Have a blessed day!
What tab does the small wire hook to on the switch that goes from the tab on the solenoid to the key switch. You almost said it twice but then never said which tab/letter on the key switch. Did you bypass all your safety switches? I'm planning on doing that.
@user-wz3yj6qr7c Sorry for the late response, i know this is too late, but just in case you still need help, that wire goes from the solenoid to the "S" tab on the switch.
