    Well, I got a pair or a few pairs of the toe socks that are really kind of wool thicker and I can wear those but I live in Georgia so in total hits the 20s I as long as I’m moving those feet I can really run in my bare feet When it gets colder than that try these if it still feels too cold, I’m worried about slipping at that point so at that point I might be on the treadmill or five fingers are really good. Those are like me and they grip like crazy. they keep my feet kind of warm, but they’re not sandals, good idea, but I could see why the surfers would want it tight

    It’s a real good video matter fact I just hit probably had running miles on the aqua cloud of close to 400 miles 360 or something and another maybe a couple hundred miles of walking here and there pretty close to about 600 miles and they’re kinda on the gunpoint now some of my phone has a couple holes upfront that I’m wearing through him and I think they’re a great road sandal now I guess the road sand copper bowl would be Shamas Either chargers or the cruisers I had the cruisers way back and in the next month or so so I might actually buy one of each of those might might buy a cruiser again think they’re like $59 and another aqua cloud cushioning in the aqua cloud you’re right is nice cause I use them only for roads Roads are so hard that just that little bounce is good and but they are so flexible for me if I took them on trails that things gonna fold underneath me it’s not like the old thicker or more dense zero rubber but like I said really, I can buy the Aqua cloud brand new for $49 and I can buy the Shama for $59 and you know you’re talking about four 500 miles on each for that kind of price. That’s a beautiful place. I’d like to try but then I can have a fresh pair of aqua clouds and a fresh pair of the more flat bottom road type sandal from Shamima and I can compare now, Luna makes a flat road one to a Bonato but that’s like 9 mm and one thing kind of neat. My wife was mentioning that when I step on the aqua cloud, I’m really taking that thing down all the way to the bottom almost so it’s really a 3 mmdense so they’re both great chargers. I think 3.2 ounces only then want to ramble too much.

    Have you tried metatarsal pads for your earth runners yet? I just ordered a pair bc I’m new to barefoot shoes and I have to walk VERY gingerly in my circadians. (Side note, wondering if the chronos soles are more comfy). But I heard about the benefits of metatarsal pads first from Anya’s reviews and she has a blog on insoles for barefoot shoes and talks about them there. Apparently they are really helpful in rehabilitating feet that have been trapped in shoes for years. They help splay your toes among many other benefits. They also make shoes like earth runners a lot more comfortable. Natural Footgear has a great article on it.

    Very good review. I dont run with them. I have 3 pair of different sole widths. I wear them daily and love them. I got them for grounding. The only problem I have are when rocks get inbetween my feet and soles so that's annoying. Ive wondered how people run in them without that happening. I think of mybthree the circadian are my favorite but also the third pair ( cant recall style name but like circadia only sole is thicker. In the rocky desert terrain that seems to work better. The biggest issue are rocks getting in between.

    • @ThumperSillywabbit
      @ThumperSillywabbit 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of the three I like the thinnest soles the least. Our desert terrain is too rocky and also thorns are an issue. Those with vibram soles are a definite plus. So far thorns havent come thru.

    Hey man, thanks for the review of the aqua clouds. Regarding the laces, cut them, seal the ends with a lighter, and use pliers to help clip them back together. Wiggle them away from the edge you are trying to clip into, and they go in fine. I found that leaving them dangling is pretty annoying. I have had my pair of Genisis for a few days and have trimmed them. These are my first pair of barefoot sandals. I still need to get the tension right over the top of my foot; I started way too loose and gave myself blisters after only two miles. They are tighter now and seem much better after a short walk. I will let my feet recover over the next week and try them again with the new tension. You asked about the general quality of Xero shoes. I have put a pair of HFS through a thousand miles or so. There is some wear at the ball of the foot, and my big-toe nail pushed a hole through the top; this, sadly, is common for me with soft-topped shoes. All in all, the HFS lasted me well.

  • @matje2096
    @matje2096 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have a pair of Panta Lykaios and Shamma Maximus (Elite Lacing) sandals here. Both are nice quality products but the Panta especially seem to have really good quality. I like the metal plug for the toe strap instead of plastic. But in comparison to the Shammas, I just couldn't adjust the Panta lacing to fit very nicely. I always slip backwards or forwards a bit with my feet walking or running uphill or downhill. As suggested by Panta, I initially adjusted them to be very tight but I had to re-adjust them multiple times wearing them for one whole day doing gardening work. I used the initial lacing form and did not try any of the other two ways yet. The biggest disadvantage is that you cannot adjust them while you have them on your feet (or at least I couldn't do it). Do you have any tips? Maybe they will fit better when they break in? Currently I only use them for casual wear and for everything else the Shammas simply fit better and are much faster to adjust on the fly. Which is a bit unfortunate as I am living in Europe and the Pantas are much cheaper to get.

    • @albertoventurini
      @albertoventurini 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, it might help to get the extra ankle straps (Panta Thoknia). I use them when I'm out on the trails with my Panta Zaros and I want to adjust the laces ever so slightly. Also, my experience with the Zaros is that I have to tighten the laces (just by a few millimitres) every few runs, otherwise they start to become slightly loose. YMMV.

    Excellent video! I need these for walking in severely bumpy cobblestones in Mexico. Each stone is about 6” with very deep set grout, often 4 inches deep. It’s really easy to get the foot caught between cobble rocks. So I need a sandal with some grip to it, not for rain. Which of these would grip better on dry days?

    Any plans of trying the numa version? Im strongly considering picking up a pair of these. I have chargers and warriors and i just find the warriors to be too slappy and thin for the concrete surfaces I'm on. The Cairn Evo Sandals have a smoother upper and thin flat tough sole better for hiking, riding a bicycle, strolling around town, The Cairn Evo PRO has a toe-triangle bar up front for better traction. Also has water activated extra-sticky Vibram Mega-grip outsole that works awesome on wet environments like rafting, boating, the beach, water parks, even wet floors you are safer and easier to negotiate with that sole like if you were washing your car, truck or boat. Old video but I have and love aqua-clouds. The thing is I have a friend that’s in. He knows a lot about shoes and different things and he said and what they do and I never realize this he said cause she got the hard rubber on the bottom with that little foam on the top he said it almost makes it like a minimalist carbon plate he said because your foot sinks in when you first land a little even though it’s only I think 3 mm your foot sinks in a little bit then it hits the hard rubber, which propels you forward he said not really like a plate or anything , he he said but a lot more propels than any other barefoot shoes. And I agree with them because they are faster. I took them on the track they’re faster than a few other shoes I have they’re faster than my fan five fingers which I thought were the fastest ones and they just feel really good. Now I’m a 10 I’m I mine and I thought they were like 6 1/2 ounces you said you got 10 I don’t know , but that’s a great video and enjoying your channel so this is an old one that was just suggested to me have a good one

    Thanks for the video. I have the warrior elites and just obtained the browns. I am really impressed with the sandals and absolutely love them. I find I very much prefer the leather classic straps most. I am using the warriors for my trail/surf stuff with the thought that all the sea water I'm around would trash the leather very quickly so the browns are for concrete/paved "touristy" surfaces mostly. My negative with them is they tend to catch pretty easily with lateral stepping movements. Basically inherent with the design, but everything else I find spot on for me. I've been using barefoot style shoes since about 2010 or just before... there are so many more options today and I also like the vivos for closed toe shoes and had good luck with the Lems when I needed a bit more cushion rehabbing from a hip replacement.

      Thank you for watching. I haven’t tried any of the Shamma all leather options, but I could see them being a nice option for “touristy things like your saying. I’m testing out a pair of Toetem sandal coyotes right now that have been working great for me they are a convertible sandal that can be both a flip flop or running sandal. That might be a perfect option for you if you do trail and surf stuff too!

    Nice review of the chargers man. I am thinking about getting some chargers just for Casual wear. I have a pair of the cruisers & i love them. I wearing sandals or flip flop 🩴all year around. Just last week we had 5" inches of snow & i had to wear my flip flops 🩴 in snow & in 16° Degrees Temperatures outside. I am not doing this because I wanted too i have to do this because I have big very very Extremely wide feet 🦶 with very chubby fat wide toes that are Evenly straight across making my foot very very Extremely wide at 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe. I have all kinds of sandals & Flip flops 🩴from Shamma sandals , Bedrock sandals , teva sandals , Birkenstocks sandals , Chaco's sandals , 5 fingers toes shoes , really Surprise that they Actually fit my feet 🦶 Reef Fanny flip flops 🩴, teva sandals flip-flops ( which was the first pair of teva sandals flip flops 🩴with a back strap on them ) , Birkenstocks flip flops , & so on. I have so many pair of sandals & Flip flops 🩴 man that it's not funny man. My foot outgrow shoes , socks , & boots when I was 18 years old & I had to walk barefooted 👣 for a year. So this is why I have to wear flip flops 🩴 & sandals in the winter time. But I love being barefooted 👣 or wearing flip-flops 🩴or sandals. I was subscribed to your channel but I don't know what happened. But I am subscribe again. Thanks you for sharing this video buddy.

    Have you had any troubles keeping the straps nice and tight? I find I'm having to tighten the strap more and more, like every day now. Kind of annoying.

    Watching a bunch of your videos on sandals and, I have to say, your honesty and example shots on the pros and cons are fantastic! Thank you

      Thank you for watching. I’m glad you are finding the videos helpful! Also, the feed back is much appreciated! Right now I have a pair of Shamma chargers and toetom coyote that I am planning to review as well as a way to keep running in sandals even when it’s cold! Stay tuned!
