This Camera Made Me Realize How Fun Photography Can Be
The Ektar H35/N is a half frame camera that is just so much fun to use. It's easy to pick up and you can take pictures without taking yourself away from the moment. In this video, I just wanted to talk about my thoughts on this camera as a budget alternative to the Pentax 17.

    does the strap dig into your arm/shoulder when you wear it like that with a bigger heavier lens? I would like to wear my gear in a similar way, I like the size of the leash but I am considering the slide lite for fear of discomfort. I use a 24-70 sigma art, a sony 70-200 and these are my heaviest lenses, I wouldn't worry about the rest with a leash, please let me know and thank you for the nice review!

      @@korzenienaglowie8034 I haven't tried it with a bigger camera yet but I haven't had any discomfort. I do feel like the thinner strap helps since it doesn't consume as much shoulder space usually my discomfort comes from digging into my neck. It's nice to adjust though to get to sit where you want. If you use a bigger lens I would use both anchors

    I bought a 30.5 mm filter with 2 stops of light and by combining the filter, the f8 and the f11 you achieve 4 different light inputs at 1/100. And of course I use the cable release for other fractions that I have been practicing by ear (Also for long exposures with a tripod, and for double exposures). I hope the information is useful to everyone

    I love this real world "reviews" when people who REALLY USE the product share their point of view and their personal hacks that evolved based on their use experience! Much more valuable than those reviews showing the strap behind a desk and never experienced to use one in real life. I own a slide strap (the fat one) and even when is beautiful, really good quality and great for transport the camera from point A to point B, it is very uncomfortable to use the camera with that thing on, it very bulky and it gets in the way between your hands and the camera. I wanted to get another more light and I am undecided about to get a lite or a leash, but I think I am going for a leash like yours, much less bulky. Thanks for sharing your experience!

    • @Wongsquared
      @Wongsquared 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's actually pretty light, but it feels sturdy. I like it a lot but I just wanted the peak design one for the anchors. Actually did end up putting one anchor on it just for security. I'd say the weight difference is not so significant where you'll feel a difference when using it

    • @Wongsquared
      @Wongsquared 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@emitsienim I'll probably make a video on it soon, but basically The strap comes with four anchors so I tie one to one end of the strap. I can click the other end of the strap to that anchor to make a loop and have one additional free anchor to attach to a camera. Normally this would give you two cameras to attach since each camera has two anchors, but I don't intend to leave my camera hanging very often and it's more just for safety in case it slips out of my hand. So I will be attaching just one anchor to the right side of each camera.

    you say you want to keep the setup clean, but you buy so many accessories for it defeating the purpose of it dont you think?

    • @Wongsquared
      @Wongsquared 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it still is clean with the accessories. To be fair, everyone's definition of clean is different. For your case, it seems like stock is clean but for me I just don't like things dangling off the camera(like a camera strap or the peak design anchors as I often keep the camera in a bag anyway) and getting in my way but all the items that I put on stay in place and are very solid. I hope that explains my thought process. But who knows. I may change my mind and decide that any one of these items May no longer be " clean for the setup" and if I feel that it gets in the way I will remove it. Think a good example is like having a decked out PC. To some they think that having a bunch of rgbs is not clean. But for me I'm more focused on the cable management.

  • @shynnsup8383
    @shynnsup8383 ปีที่แล้ว

    I strongly disagree with your opinion. I believe that there is a significant bias at play here. Firstly, the hype surrounding the board, from years of reading about it, to the second round of production, the raffle, and finally winning it, all contribute to the bias. Furthermore, when you have invested a substantial amount of money into something, your mind naturally convinces you that it was worth it, and you begin to perceive the board as an extraordinary object. The memories of the anticipation and the expectations of the board being met and exceeded create a cycle that perpetuates the bias each time you use it. However, this bias is unfounded. The board is undoubtedly excellent, but there are many other high-quality options available at a much lower cost. At this point, Jane boards are outdated, and technology is improving, with studios building superior boards. For instance, the Mode Sonnet is a prime example of a board that is comparable to, or dare I say, even superior to a TGR Jane, at a fraction of its cost.

    • @Wongsquared
      @Wongsquared ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Honestly I wasn't excited about it till I opened it. I got it because I felt that it was something I needed to at least try. My bias was against it because in my mind I didn't think a simple rectangle could be that good and it proved me wrong. It's really good. I think it's easy to underplay how good it is because of the price but I genuinely think it's well designed after using it. That's not to say you need to spend $500-600 to get a good board which is actually about the same price as a mode 80 depending on your configuration and extras. My space 80 Apollo was also about the same price. I would say that the cost is fair. It's not for everyone but the work they put into designing it shows. I'm assuming you've used one at least but there is the same bias to hate on it like I did. What I can really say about it's use is that I haven't had to tune it once since building it, where Ive had to for all other boards around the same time. This is personal of course and this hobby is subjective but it was built and I haven't had any issues that beg me to mess with it.

    Is there a difference in color? The specification says vintage white. Is there any color difference with regular white keycaps?

      I believe I have the vintage white. It matches the white keycaps I have well but there are a lot of different whites so I won't be able to verify.

    Have you tried the Azure Dragon V2? They are one of my favorite when not using a linear

    You think it's overpriced for "what it is" but compare it to the base entry model that doesn't include half the stuff or the assembly. Given that all the components are from Novelkeys you could just add up their costs and compare it to the price here. It's pretty close. Enjoyed the video!

      I appreciate the feedback. I understand it's convenience you're also paying for, however, I think my feelings that it lacks value at the default price is because it doesn't come with a full set of keycaps like you'd get if you had the parts individually or a full order of switches. It is also not an intuitive case to take apart and modify. If a user intends to use it out of the box as is then that's fair but it seems you're really just paying for the aesthetic. I think there are better entry level options available if you're willing to wait for a gb or even the in stock Bakeneko I enjoy much more but again that's just not for everyone. This is all dependent on what an individual values though and is only my opinion. I just don't find value in the full kitting the way it is. It seems there are plenty of people out there who feel that this keyboard is worth the price and to which I say I'm glad you are able to get that value from it. There's nothing wrong with that.

    I honestly don't think it's over priced for what it is, but this is my opinion. I like to think that I stay in the "entry" level board category as I don't spend over $300 (tax/shipping included) for an entire build. Usually I spend around $250 for the board (w/stabilizers), keycaps and switches anyway. For me, this is in my budget and it already comes with everything I'd normally buy separate. I also enjoy NovelKeys packaging as most come with a nice storage case, a USB cord, and switch puller. This board is also aluminum, which makes the price higher on any Entry level build because of the material and weight to ship. Honestly, I am bummed I hadn't grabbed this during Black Friday when it was $99-150 Even so, I would willingly pay $250 for this. Granted, there are several more affordable options on Amazon, but I don't believe you get the quality of aluminum, the more customized colorway option and all the added parts to make it work right out of the box. When it comes to modifying and tweaking a build, I think that is the joy of the hobby. If you're a hobbyist no matter if the board cost you $65 or $650 most enthusiast will do some type of modifications to the board; it's just the nature of the hobby. If you're not a hobbyist and just want a cute looking keyboard, naturally I wouldn't recommend spending this much and you'd probably be better off with a nice looking membrane keyboard apposed to mechanical.

      The keyboard actually has a plastic body. I don't know if that changes your mind at all but I should put all the information out there if I can. Although, I agree that it's great it comes as a full kit, I believe that there are other keyboards better suited to newcomers to the hobby for a similar if not better price. Bakenekos are actually aluminum and a full build would cost about the same depending on the switches and keycaps you choose. I think the Black Friday cost or $200 is a pretty fair price given that the normal NK65 is about $100 and they don't really provide a full keycap set or many extra switches with this Olivia edition. I really feel most of the appeal is the colorway because it is so iconic. Adding on to your point about being in the hobby, the board is pre-built meaning you'd have to first take it apart to modify it which can be daunting for newcomers. I feel the better option is to start from scratch so you can see the inner workings put together before taking something apart. Although this is really a matter of learning style, but even taking the keyboard apart is not as straightforward as it should be for a beginner and I think the barrier of entry for this hobby is hard enough as is. Your points are valid though and if a user sees those points as valid enough to justify the board I respect it. Everyone is allowed to enjoy their purchase. There's no real right answer. Just how much money you have and personal preference.
