Dave’s a great man!
One of the greats for sure!
Thank you ❤
Thanks for watching!
Good
I love YOU Sir 👍
Have got a 16 week old BRB humidity is in the 90s because she's only a baby she's kept in a decent size plastic tub it's nearly 2ft long and it's 1ft high I have a pvc pipe going straight across the middle of the tub to offer some hight so the snake to claim on,she gets a full clean out every week at first I had a couple of branches in there but they had started to get moldy within a few days so they had to be binned, Ive heard adults only need to be kept 75% humidity but you still need to mist the enclosure down every day, so am curious how often do you have to do a full clean out for adults, do you have only issues with the branches going moldy. Some tips would be helpful, am New to the hobby got my first snake in June/July a ball python she's about 8/9 months old she's so easy to look after, I knew what I was getting into getting a baby BRB I've heard there not the easiest to look after, mine seems to be doing great she's eating and shedding fine her heat mat is set at 30 degrees
I never lower humidity. They live their whole lives in 100% humidity so that’s what I shoot for. I clean out the enclosure about every 6 months but the substrate is bioactive so I let it do its thing. Check out good facebook groups like Full Spectrum Rainbow Boas, Advancing Herpetological Husbandry, and Brazilian Rainbow Boa Domination for some good community help
Bro we can’t even see the teeth
I don’t know what you were expecting. Snakes really aren’t that scary.
@ I know I own 5 myself I still just wanted to see the teeth 😂
I have a love/hate relationship with care sheets lol I do love going to chain pet stores and seeing just how wrong the info is, but on the flip side, I'm also sad because I know they are giving that info to new owners. Then the animals dies, the owner thinks it's their fault (which it technically is), but most assume the place you buy from is going to tell you the right info. I also think because of multiple ways to do the same thing (such as heating up frozen/thawed with water, light, etc.) that people get set in their ways with what they are told and stop doing research, believing and trusting a pet store should know what they are talking about :-(
Exactly! When profit and sales are prioritized over husbandry, it’s the animals that suffer.
They are all very beautiful
Thank you 🙏
That’s a lot of flame I’m sure it was great
He had smoked it for quite a while. This was just for the sear. Great doesn’t begin to describe it 😂
@ awesome I bbq 3-5 times a week Nothing better
Great video. Covered everything about quarantining and why.
Thanks for watching!
Fantastic videos gentlemen
Thanks for tuning in!
Muy bien explicada
What snake is it?
Temple viper at the LA Zoo
I've beem binge watching all your videos & this is one of my favorite!
A lot of great info from Ike on this one.
At present, there is NO reliable LLM detection algorithm. Anything that claims to be so is a lie. I tried the detection tool you mentioned. Out of four entirely AI-generated pieces of text, two were detected as "Your Text is Human written 0% AI GPT." (Ironically, I wrote the text above in my native language and GPT translated to English. The paragraph above is also detected to be "Your Text is Human written 0% AI GPT.") I have tested similar tools before with text that's written before 2020, and all of the tools I can find gave significant percentage of false positives, making them basically useless. I have a professor that believed in these AI detectors, until I showed him a piece of text that's written by himself got detected to be AI-written. ----------------------------------- Here is one of the two examples of a 100% AI generated text that's detected to be "0% AI GPT" with your "zerogpt" tool: "By incorporating the V(λ) curve and the luminous efficacy constant, you can convert physical measurements of light energy (spectral irradiance) into photometric quantities (illuminance) that reflect how humans perceive brightness. This conversion is essential in lighting design, vision science, and various applications where human visual response is a critical factor." The prompt is “Explain what's the definition of the unit lux and what's the curve to convert spectral irradience to lux.”
There’s so much we still have to learn about AI. While acknowledging it is a new technology and detection cannot be guaranteed, I tested 5 different items that were either ai generated or written by me. It correctly analyzed the content each time. While I don’t think my evidence is sufficient to draw a “conviction” in court (nor has there been any crime) I feel it is safe to assume that these careSheets are AI generated states based on a preponderance of the evidence.
That spicy last little girl is mine! 🥹
Excited for you!
Omg! I want one so bad! ❤
I still have 3 babies available 😂

Can't wait to see the full video. I love watching snakes just do their thing.
Yeah absolutely. It can be really engrossing. Thanks for watching!
Noooooooo, don’t get stuck in the drainage hole 😅
lol she always checks it out and then backs out once she hits the part she can’t squeeze through 🙃
So by typical cycling, would you say she is very early or very late?
Yes 😂 I would say it’s an off season breeder. And it’s difficult for me to determine if it’s environmental having to deal with my A/C habits in the home or barometric influences from the weird winter we had or if she’s just predisposed to that cycle. Just another thing to make breeding snakes stressful lol
Great discussion. As a new venomous keeper I am trying to OD on info and content like this.
Excellent, thanks for watching.
Sure is! Trout Creek and a1 man cabin is all I need.
Sounds like heaven.
Saludos
Thanks for watching!
Considering that we've probably all ran over a snake , accidentally without knowing it, no problem picking them up. I think people are just thinking too much. However, while out herping it might be wise to disinfect between snake holdings so as not to spread any fungus. Especially if a snake seems to have ill looking skin. Being curious is part of being human. I try to ignore people who went a little too far to the left. I say keep doing what you're doing and enjoy life!
Love that. I carry hand sanitizer when I’m with me for my own sake, but a good reminder for their health as well. Thank you.
What great timing! I just got my first venomous snake a couple weeks ago. Iv kept snakes for 16 years and always considered keeping venomous but never have. An opportunity presented itself to me to get a neonate southern pacific rattler and I said yes. I feel confident in safely keeping the lil guy but I still want to do things the right way and look into classes or mentorship. Iv already signed up to join the mentorship group she talked about. Steven, you said you are in California and train people. Are you near LA county and is there a way to sign up for your venomous training services? Thank you.
I appreciate you reaching out about this. I live in Thousand Oaks and work in the city actually, you can find me on Facebook or IG @letstalkherps and pm me. I do train a few people but I can message you and explain better why I don’t personally keep venomous and am probably not the mentor you need at this time. All that said, super cool that you got a baby helleri. And thanks for reminding me, I need to put a link to the mentorship group in the description as well.
In the Jungle Book books and movies, Kaa is a Indian Rock Python (Python molurus), though in the original animated movie he was 3 times the length of a normal one (9 meters vs 3 meters)
Ah yes thank you. I forget he flattens his head a bit and the Mandela effect has me remembering him with a big golden hood. I think I’m mixing him up with Jaffar’s staff in my dusty old memory banks.
I'm pretty sure that's a white-tailed deer
The skinny white tail has a black tip. That’s a mule deer. White tail deer have much wider tails without black tips.
When you do the diy backgrounds with rainboas, does the polycrilic work good as a sealant? Do you add a tube to avoid water lock? Love how your enclosures look.
Thank you! You know I’ve never used any polycryllic so I can’t speak to it. On my rosy boa cage I made some “rock walls” with grout that I sealed with a soy-based polyurethane, but the rainbow boa cages are pvc that I sealed the edges with silicone to prevent leaks. The walls I just used expanding foam to secure cork bark and moss to them and some screws. I notice some degradation of the foam after a couple years though. There’s a pond sealant foam I would use next time.
Definitely okay with animal welfare laws!
Florence, South Carolina is where he is from.
Thank you! I should have put in a little note in the video but had zero time to make a video last week. Thank you for watching and remembering what I couldn’t!
“I’m aliiiiiiive!”
A. The audio sounds really great B. I appreciate your insights on this. I do feel like he shouldn't be allowed to keep reptiles anymore because of the condition they were reportedly found in, as well as the damage he does to all keepers by association. And I agree with you that if more regulations come about that are common sense and best for the animals, I'm all for it. C. Support USARK!!
A - thank you 😊 B - I really wish they had better laws and restrictions in his state. Sad for the animals. C - 🎉
Laws and regulations for venomous animals, like exist in Florida, seem reasonable to me. They exist to protect others and the environment, but we can't stop people from willingly placing themselves in danger, nor should we.
We can only do so much 🤷♂️
Last I heard in Minnesota you have to have a license/permit of some type where you have to go to a class or two on how to handle venomous snakes with hooks just to keep rattlesnakes. I agree, if you're going to keep an animal that could possibly kill you in one bite, you need to have a license or some kind of proof that you put in time to learn how to handle these animals. Then, when someone like Jeff comes along, gets cocky and bit or abuse, his license can be revoked and banned from keeping such animals. It keeps animals from being banned and holds the keeper responsible.
I didn't realize that the fishing license thing is because killing rattlesnakes. 😡 Also I regret that anyone gave him antivenin. If they hadn't, THAT would've been a clickbait worthy story that could've presented the hobby in a responsible light.
That Jeff character seems to be a loose cannon, destructive and negligent. As for legislation, licensing etc it could be a positive step; it depends what the drivers are.
Looks like a Downy. They come around often where I live in Southern California.
Awesome, thanks for the ID.
Beauty!
Aren’t they all though 😂
"ooh the snakes gonna come get you"
Watch out gophers!
Do it
No rough handling, you clearly waited for the snake’s muscles to relax before coaxing it out bit by bit, just as one should. Great job! (As an aside, fuss over all the fauna you can, life is too short to be a jaded Internet troll. Seeing garters and DeKay’s brown snakes will NEVER not excite me, and I see them almost every day during spring and summer here in Ohio. I wish we had gopher snakes!)
I appreciate that! I always have a moment of hesitation before grabbing a wild snake for their own sake.
Seemed legit to me, haters gonna hate.
Ain’ters gonna ain’t!
@@LetsTalkHerps😂😂😂😂
It looked to me that you were indeed working with his own movements. He does not act injured or angry. Good job.
He was very chill for a wild animal. Thanks for watching!
Love the babies! 😍 Also, I’ve been reading through your care guide and man thank you so much! I love having an all in one for my info. Ofc I have used other resources but yours is so spot on!!!
I love hearing that. Thank you! Thanks for watching.
Buenos cuidados
Gracias!
They sure are affordable! My dogs eat 6 lbs or pork loin and super hi premium dog food, every single day! *Sigh* I need snakes...
Wowwwww lol. I love dogs so much too. Have em both 😉
Good video! I'm another big fan of Layne Labs. It's worth mentioning that per feeder they cost less than the poor-quality feeders from the big-box pet shops, EVEN if you take shipping costs into account.
Great point! Yeah I didn’t even compare it to other options but compared to the prices at petsmart and petco, you can get far better, for less.
This was such a great unboxing and review. You know how much I love Layne Labs, and I'm always happy to see others have the same wonderful experience.
There’s a few others I’d be willing to try, but Layne has never given me a reason to want to 🤷♂️
'' abruptly woken up'' He says, fingers covered in blood xd
😂 this one’s a sweetheart, but I do have one that’ll light you up if you surprise him lol
Beautiful! I also had my first BRB litter this year, similar time to you. Birthed 5th July. All 14 are now feeding frozen thawed (don’t tend to do live in UK unless they will otherwise perish).
Congrats! I’m so obsessed with these babies 😂 🥰
Do the bugs get out all over your house?
Good question. Occasionally. The springtails are already in pretty much all houses everywhere. They’re nothing. If you really want a menace, keep an animal that needs to eat flightless fruit flies, they end up all Over your house 😆
@@LetsTalkHerps thanks for answering me, ive asked lots of ppl to no avail.
Gran especie ❤
They’re so beautiful, I’ve been obsessed for years 😊
Love the names. I have a Grogu, Ahsoka, and Sabine but they’re not BRBs!
Your grogu is one of my faves in your collection. I love California Kingsnake personalities. Hungry little guys lol.
