08 was my favorite

i got this game for christmas 2001 along with gta 3, NFL 2k2, and metal gear solid 2. solid holiday. Although i felt lied to by the intro graphics and how short the story was, i was just happy to have a wrestling game on my new PS2 and enjoyed playing it on Christmas morning. The smackdown games on the ps2 really took off full steam after this one.

Wow I hated svr 2006 as a kid I owned both that and svr 2007. Idk I found svr 2007 better. I just felt 2006 was wayyy to much about gm mode and boosting Cena rap carreer

One of my core childhood memories in life is going into Best Buy before WWE '12 came out, playing the demo, and the first character i picked was Alex Riley. The music blasted throughout the entire store and it was the coolest thing ever. one of the goat games

We all know that SVR 2007 was been suppose to feature the ECW brand in the game and 2006. But they wait till 2008 L Man.

I remember some of these still having their "nicknames" in the CAW, which the ring announcer would actually say. Namely Al Snow, and X-Pac.

I'm glad someone else has these thoughts about Just Bring It. Considering Tajiri didnt debut until June 2001, it amazes me that he made this roster. In Create-a-wrestler, there's actually many names that the ring announcer uses. Justin Credible, Kaientai, Essa Rios and the other members of RTC to name a few. I think with the invasion angle, the developers of JBI were always fighting an uphill battle with new talent debuting every week!

I didnt play Smackdown shut your mouth until 2007 when I was about 8 or 9 years old. For people that played shut your mouth as it came out, how did it feel to finally get guys like rvd, nWo xpac, Kevin Nash, Brock Lesnar, etc in the game ?

It was either SVR 2009 or SVR 2011. Both of games had a lot of roster depth

I’m under the belief that Al Snow, unlike Regal..has an actual sense of humor. Hence why Regal succeeded as commissioner & was good enough to become a GM.

My least favorite from what i consider the Attitude Era trilogy. I remember being very disappointed after playing it. It didnt have the charm or fun of 'Know Your Role.' They bounced back in a MAJOR way with 'Shut Your Mouth' though and we all know how great HCTP was.

I loved this game so much

The roster wasn't the problem. I skipped on this because it was a bad PS2 game. Fortunately, THQ delivered some of the most fun wrestling games ever with the other PS2 sequels.

what's really weird is that most of the superstars you mentioned were featured in wwf Raw for the original xbox. sadly the wcw/ecw alliance was not featured in either games

This was my first "Smackdown" series game so not playing HTCP I never understood the hate. Now I realize how subpar it is compared to what came before but I still prefer it the latter SVR games by far.

I only forgot Chavo in fact I did an angle with Mason Ryan and Batista similar to Kurt Angle and Jason Jordan's father/son angle in story designer.
