How to clean tools! Old mechanic tricks and tips.
I was bitching about some channellocks in the comments on TH-cam and a a very lovely Channellock representative contacted me and even tho I bought my channellocks thru Amazon. She reasured me they do stand behind their products and is sending me a new pair. Thank-you Nina! Always call the company if the retailer gives you crap. Channellock is a great company! Liked your video
Not meaning to dampen your enthusiasm for USA. But I'm curious, does this ratchet have "made in the USA" stamped on it? Or just the Proto USA logo? I thought about buying one of those but I figured they were made in Taiwan.
If your into USA u can't go wrong with the vintage Williams Superratchet (if u can find one in good shape) but the good old ones u can't get rebuild kits for.
If you like that classic Proto design you should check out the Koken 24 tooth. They took that design and made the pawls better by making each one with 2 teeth that strengthen the contact between teeth and snvil gear plus machined the head to hold the swivel end of the pawls. Amazing machining and tolerances.
Bruh I just bought both ratchets impact and non and bought 1/2inch impact gun 650 ft pounds of torque for ridiculous amount. In Canada right now I paid 61 dollars for the non impact ratchet 68 for the impact ratchet and 150 dollars for the impact gun with 4 amp battery and charger.
And imma go back to buy more batteries and prolly angle grinder to. So cheap why wouldn’t you plus 5 year warranty
It helps if you know how to use tools.
Similar to mine. Fenix pd35, 6” 150mil Knipex pliers wrench, leatherman wave, Klein micro screwdriver, leatherman bits, LOTO lock, sharpie, and pen.
The workpro is a great screwdriver and its become my go to over the years but mines also had the same issue with the ratcheting mechanism separating from the handle after falling about 12 feet off a ladder I'm glad i found this vid because at first i thought there may have been a locking ring or something missing but it seems the factory press fit may have been calibrated wrong because its too loose to be reinserted securely. ..but that being said i'm still using it more than all my other drivers. Might try some epoxy or just wait till the handle slips out while im working at height and beans a coworker on the dome
There's literally a handful of pliers manufacturers that I will use outside of King Knipex. Snap On, Lobster, Nepros/Koken, Engineer/Vampires, Whia, NES. Maybe one or two other. Basically one or two pairs per manufacturer outside of Knipex, who I have about 130 pairs of. And my original before I knew of Knipex. Klein, Channel locks, USA made oldschool Craftsman
Im sure the knipex are good, but ill stick by U.S. made channellock as ive done for the last 35 years
I had a pair of these that my brother-in-law gave to me to get started in HVAC. I traded them to a guy for a pair of Knipex Twin Grips 82 02 200 that I had foolishly sold him before. He'll never use them, so he thinks they're great.
Used a little jack like that twice getting myself out that along with some wood or logs
Glad to see you have some automotive electrical wire, i haven't seen to many that do
I love those channellock speed grips. They get a bite like nothing else. Those snap on high leverage pliers are awesome too. I abuse the hell out of both of those tools and they never let me down.
I like m8ne..I just lock the auto feature out of the way..they're better that way
I like that Craftsman..I just went on Ebay and bought it for $6.. and $5 shipping..👍
The harbor freight coupon book was a good one, so that you have something to read when your stuck on the side of the road with your broke ass truck. Hahahahahhaha 🤣
The mini pliers and the lighter must talk a lot. They seem to be in the same spot one right after the other.
You got a dud. Go exchange it.
I keep mine in my bag next to my knipex pliers mainly to abuse 😂 they’re definitely good for that
0:56 "but these are just fucking bad ass in every way..I mean they're killer they're tougher than fuck" Me looking down at my Amazon cart with these loaded inside before I clicked this video: 😌
I had a BOA lace break, I was doing utility linework and put them thru some serious shit. Red wing replaced both steel laces and they oiled them
Im subscribing off the Budweiser skit 😅🤣🤣 #mechaniclife
Take it to Lowes or ace hardware, replace for warranty,it's full life time warranty, I used mine alot and I had no issues, I jus take mine to Lowes if my jaw Sharps on my pilers , mine made in Vietnam
Why not go get new ones, in the time you post junk videos.
Because he'd have nothing to cry about.
Yes those are awesome shoes put a coat of snow shield you looking at 3 years plus
87-51-250 is designed to grip flat shapes of varying thicknesses. Compared to parallel knipex wrench pliers, this one has teeth. Which makes a difference on some materials. Rotating someting, bolts etc is it's secondary ability, when the space is there. It's also a glorified tweezer with serious strength.
Just take them back to Harbor Freight and they'll give you a new pair. Of course this would not give you reason to bitch. I own a pair just like them and they work great.
en amazon se venden las piezas para reparar el knipex
I pretty much agree with all the things you showed. Although I will say their adjustable wrenches are NICE, USA screwdrivers are good, haven't tried the new ones yet I have the acetate handled ones.
My only complaint about Chan Loc is the warranty doesn't cover wear and tear on the teeth. I filed the teeth and thats a pretty tough job because of the solid rivet. I'm not a professional. My 410 pliers are 29 years old and have snapped off muffler hanger bolts with no problem several times.
A rivet requires more skill and precision and is better until the pliers are heavily worn and become sloppy. Will you compare and test them against the Icon brand? Are all of the lower jaw teeth full width like the upper jaw? If not why? Most all of my pliers except needle nose have full width teeth. I got the Icon brand for $17.99 the store is nearby making any necessary warranty is easier.
The only thing i like knipex over my channel locks is getting in tight spaces
There are hundreds of different combinations of situations where you might use pliars. You picked a couple of scenarios that it wasn't particularly well suited to. That's why they make dozens of designs. I've got these pliars and they're fantastic when put to the right purpose.
The nut buster pliers are the best they ever made.
Bro made the strippers twerk
Nice review I appreciate the info
No magnet in rhe tail? (Torch snob)
Passed the wiggle test ✔️
😡
Everyone's an expert electrician 😂
These are the American version of the swedish pipe wrench.
Just imagine taking the Stahlwille handles, Hazet adjusting lever and Knipex jaws. The ultimate pliers.
Come back lol
27 seconds and two f bombs, you don't need to have a trash mouth to make a video, at least not one that I am going to watch
Mine don’t wobble.
Nothing is perfect, button is only 1/8" bigger than the other one
Klien is great stuff even their pliers are. You said made in Taiwan 🇹🇼 but no longer the Klein family said that all of klien tools will be made in the USA. No more made overseas all their stuff will be made here in the USA. "Hurray "
Bad luck with your pliers (w/a/r) my grove locks work great.
