    Hello from Colorado! I just finished a 2 week camping trip down to Tucson to see if it is a place I would like to move to. It was an awesome trip, and I believe I will next year. I did go to some open houses while down there. I used that as a vehicle to see different neighborhoods and learn the town better. I have to admit....I went down there thinking a pool will be a requirement and I left thinking a pool will be a requirement. I think I will try maintaining the pool myself, initially. And if I find it is becoming a pain in the rear, I will hire someone to do that.

    I was born and raised in South Scottsdale. I knew something was wrong the second I asked my dad "Do Palm Trees grow like this everywhere?" To which he replied "They don't grow here naturally. They put them in to make it look less like a desert." But it is a desert. And it should be treated as such. I graduated from Coronado High, did a year at SCC and then went to the University of Iowa. I then moved to Tinley Park, Illinois where I stayed for 8 years. Gramps got sick. He lives off of Granite Reef and McDowell. I came back to help out. I'm pretty sure my home hometown has gotten the worst of the worst since I've been away. It's Anarchy out here. A wall to wall sh*t show. I'm currently finishing up a second degree. Electrical Engineering at ASU. I'll be moving to Pennsylvania and working for a medical equipment company.

    • @IanCarroll-cz7fk
      @IanCarroll-cz7fk 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@heidilittleton It's devolved into a libertarian hell scape. Arizona has lost a percent of it's educated professionals in the past year. I feel like the state has sacrificed it's long term stability for short term gains. There's a dozen property management companies being sued for price fixing. It seems like half of my old neighborhood is air bnb's. Who the hell would want to buy a house that was used as an air BNB? Might as well tear it down and start over. There's a very good reason why homes for decades in the valley could not be used as short term rentals. This was my home. People moved here because it was fairly quiet and nice. People don't move to the valley anymore because it's nice. They move here because they hand out guns in vending machines, you can smoke weed and gamble. I'm actually a pretty conservative guy. But I like Katie Hobbs and her team. I just hope she can get this house in order. I'll watch from the TV.

    • @heidilittleton

      @@IanCarroll-cz7fk It's been interesting watching the AirBNB saga. Many communities are actually no longer allowing them or they must be longer term like 30+ days. I'm personally using AirBNB less when I travel due to their crazy added fees. It will be interesting to see if it is sustainable as is for the long-term.

      Yes most of our personal use is for outside like pools and watering plants. I'll be curious to see how this shifts as less people get pools. I saw a recent stat (don't want to quote it inaccurately) but it showed a decline in the number of homes in the Valley with a pool, particularly the new construction homes.

    As someone who has lived in both states with no status quo or agenda. I want to make this very easy and clear to understand for people moving here. California has the highest GDP in the US, I think we should stop acting like it's some bum paradise. The homelessness issue is caused by several things; including, perfect year around weather and other states bussing them in at an alarming rate as well as the rising cost of living without an increase in wages which is currently happening in AZ as well. Politically we are much more moderate than people think, our current governor, secretary of state, and attorney general are all democratic as well as our senators. While it is true we are much cheaper than California by large margins, places like Sedona and Flagstaff are not so much. I hope this helps.

      If you watched the whole video, I did share that some areas ARE experiencing real water shortages and that this needs to be addressed. I by no means claim to be a water expert nor am I an expert in every single city in Arizona. In Phoenix itself, the homes that are currently being built have an AWS certificate mean they have at least a 100 year supply of water. Obviously this can change at any time as our climate and growth changes, but this is based on the information that is available TODAY.

    This reminds me of the 2004 timeline when prices went up due to CA moving to AZ. Then we all know what happened in 2008. I then bought 6 properties in 2010 at half the price. Get ready for another 2008. My CA driving is a minimum of one hour per way.

    • @heidilittleton
      @heidilittleton 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      An hour each way is just crazy! I think the average here is 30 mins or less. I don't think we will have another 2008 for a number of reasons. We don't have an oversupply of homes like we did in 2008. We also don't have lenders out here doing whatever they want to get people into homes which was a HUGE issues in 2008. Also, at least here in AZ, the majority of our homes are owner occupied vs in 2008 it was investors flipping to investors flipping to investors and in the end, they had no one to live in them.

      No really it's not just Californians we don't want anymore people coming here! Everyone that comes cause they didn't like certain things about where they lived before! And then try to change the way we do things to match the places they just left! Or they'll knowingly move next to A race track then complain about the noise, and make it their life's work getting the track shut down!!! Or next to A horse rescue then complain about the smell and try to say it's A health risk to try and get it shut down!! Transplants were successful in halting the rebuilding of an iconic landmark restaurant the Mining Camp! Cause people who'd only lived close to the restaurant "A major tourist stop and A huge part of our cultural history not to mention economy" for A few years prior to its unfortunate burning down! Complained about the congestion on the road and the noise cause oh ya it also had a bar and barn that were used to host country weddings, as well as the smell! The smell? What those people have something against smelling the absolute Best BBQ Beef Ribs and smoked Brisket? Then there's the "GUNS" issue! Look if you hate the 2nd amendment and the sight of seeing 1 out every 5 people you see in public open carrying makes you uncomfortable or feel unsafe? Then you shouldn't come here! Cause quite honestly I feel alone safer when I see my fellow neighbor's carrying around me. We're the type of people that'll defend strangers like you in dangerous situations, and yal wanna come here and try to change the way we do things around here, and we're all getting pretty fed up with it! But all that kind of drama aside. Let's talk about the many many different creatures in AZ that'll fuck you up! Cause we're like the Australia of the United States here. We've got like 13 or 15 species of Scorpions or was it Rattlesnakes? Either way there's 13-15 of each Scorpions and or Rattlesnakes. Then there's the Brown recluse spider who's neckratizing venom eats away at your flesh! They lay eggs inside they're bite marks sometimes. We have Black Widows and Arizona Browns. Centipedes the size of small snakes. Wild havalina aka wild bores/Pigs. Gila monsters with poisonous saliva that can kill you. Vicious mean Badgers. Raccoons, Skunks, Kudamundi's, Mt. Lions, Black Bears, Coyotes, Eagles, Hawk's, and Owls all of whom will snatchup your smaller pets to eat them! Oh and Wasps so big they'll kill tarantulas 8 times they're size and drag them back to they're underground nest where they'll eat part of them and save the rest for the eggs she's about to lay inside the spider so the young have food when they hatch! We have sewer roaches the size of Hummingbirds that will have no problem flying straight at your face. Did I mention that the rattlesnakes will swim right up onto your boat, they'll climb your trees and cactus, you'll find them at your front door in your garage sometimes your toilet and even in your vehicle and pool! If you don't already know what A Haboob is? I'd look it up! Oh ya and one last thing we don't have any water! We do but we don't.
