    Rents/Homes are cheaper - young people want to start a family. Very logical. Arizona can't have it both ways - trying to keep the state "Red" while making money from those moving there - who may have different political preferences.

    I lived in Phoenix for thirty years. Loved it at first, but each decade was hotter. I finally couldn't take it anymore and moved to Albuquerque. Hello from Colorado! I just finished a 2 week camping trip down to Tucson to see if it is a place I would like to move to. It was an awesome trip, and I believe I will next year. I did go to some open houses while down there. I used that as a vehicle to see different neighborhoods and learn the town better. I have to admit....I went down there thinking a pool will be a requirement and I left thinking a pool will be a requirement. I think I will try maintaining the pool myself, initially. And if I find it is becoming a pain in the rear, I will hire someone to do that.

    I was born and raised in South Scottsdale. I knew something was wrong the second I asked my dad "Do Palm Trees grow like this everywhere?" To which he replied "They don't grow here naturally. They put them in to make it look less like a desert." But it is a desert. And it should be treated as such. I graduated from Coronado High, did a year at SCC and then went to the University of Iowa. I then moved to Tinley Park, Illinois where I stayed for 8 years. Gramps got sick. He lives off of Granite Reef and McDowell. I came back to help out. I'm pretty sure my home hometown has gotten the worst of the worst since I've been away. It's Anarchy out here. A wall to wall sh*t show. I'm currently finishing up a second degree. Electrical Engineering at ASU. I'll be moving to Pennsylvania and working for a medical equipment company.

    • @IanCarroll-cz7fk
      @IanCarroll-cz7fk 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@heidilittleton It's devolved into a libertarian hell scape. Arizona has lost a percent of it's educated professionals in the past year. I feel like the state has sacrificed it's long term stability for short term gains. There's a dozen property management companies being sued for price fixing. It seems like half of my old neighborhood is air bnb's. Who the hell would want to buy a house that was used as an air BNB? Might as well tear it down and start over. There's a very good reason why homes for decades in the valley could not be used as short term rentals. This was my home. People moved here because it was fairly quiet and nice. People don't move to the valley anymore because it's nice. They move here because they hand out guns in vending machines, you can smoke weed and gamble. I'm actually a pretty conservative guy. But I like Katie Hobbs and her team. I just hope she can get this house in order. I'll watch from the TV.

      @@IanCarroll-cz7fk It's been interesting watching the AirBNB saga. Many communities are actually no longer allowing them or they must be longer term like 30+ days. Warning ⚠️ Warning ⚠️ Warning ⚠️ PHOENIX is very racist the wealth gap is clear. High paying jobs and senior management is for Whites & Latinos. Workplaces are very dated and toxic. Do your research on Glassdoor. It’s a huge lack of diversity.

    Why government can’t build a pipeline of water from Rocky Point, Mexico to Phoenix, Arizona ?

    Very interesting insight and information. I particularly liked the semiconductor info regarding recycled water and how much it effects data center jobs since I am relocating to Phoenix for a data center job… always wondered how the desert land could afford the massive demand of water. Thank you!

    • @heidilittleton
      @heidilittleton 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes most of our personal use is for outside like pools and watering plants. I'll be curious to see how this shifts as less people get pools. I saw a recent stat (don't want to quote it inaccurately) but it showed a decline in the number of homes in the Valley with a pool, particularly the new construction homes.

    As someone who has lived in both states with no status quo or agenda. I want to make this very easy and clear to understand for people moving here. California has the highest GDP in the US, I think we should stop acting like it's some bum paradise. The homelessness issue is caused by several things; including, perfect year around weather and other states bussing them in at an alarming rate as well as the rising cost of living without an increase in wages which is currently happening in AZ as well. Politically we are much more moderate than people think, our current governor, secretary of state, and attorney general are all democratic as well as our senators. While it is true we are much cheaper than California by large margins, places like Sedona and Flagstaff are not so much. I hope this helps.
