Golden Chicken Wings with Onion Sprout Garnish
These golden chicken wings are not only delicious but also easy to make at home. With a crispy exterior and a burst of flavor from the ginger, garlic, and onion sprouts, your family and friends are sure to love them.
Ingredients:
Chicken wings (desired amount)
1 cup all-purpose flour
Water
Fresh ginger (about 1 inch, thinly sliced)
Onion sprouts (a handful, finely chopped)
2 tablespoons vinegar
3 cloves garlic (crushed and finely chopped)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sweet sauce (like honey or hoisin)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cap of vodka
Cooking oil (for frying)
Spices (salt, pepper, paprika, or your choice of seasoning)
Instructions:
Prepare the Chicken:
Place your chicken wings in a large bowl.
Add about 1 cup of flour and 1 tablespoon of water to the wings.
With your hands, mix thoroughly, adding more water as needed until the chicken is fully coated. This step helps clean the wings.
Remove the wings and transfer them to a different bowl. Rinse them with fresh water to remove the flour mixture. Repeat the rinsing process until the wings are clean.
Prepare for Cooking:
Cut small slits into each chicken wing. This will help them cook evenly and allow the flavor to penetrate deeply into the meat.
Thinly slice fresh ginger and finely chop a handful of onion sprouts. Set these aside in a small bowl.
Boil the Chicken:
In a large pot, add the chicken wings, the sliced ginger, and half of the chopped onion sprouts.
Pour in enough water to cover the wings, then add 2 tablespoons of vinegar.
Bring the water to a boil, skimming off any foam or impurities that rise to the surface.
Let the wings cook until they are tender (about 15-20 minutes).
Remove the wings and place them on a plate to drain.
Prepare the Sauce:
In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sweet sauce, your preferred spices (salt, pepper, paprika), 1 cap of vodka, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and a splash of water. Stir until well mixed.
Fry the Chicken Wings:
Heat a wok or large pan over medium-high heat and add enough oil to cover the base.
Once the oil is hot, carefully place the wings into the pan.
Move the wings around to prevent them from sticking, and flip them to ensure even cooking.
After the wings start to turn golden brown, add the chopped garlic and remaining onion sprouts to the pan. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.
Add the Sauce:
Pour the prepared soy sauce mixture over the wings and let them simmer. Stir occasionally, making sure the wings are evenly coated with the sauce.
If the sauce starts to thicken too much, add a splash of water and continue stirring.
Serve:
Once the wings are fully cooked and golden, remove them from the heat and place them on a serving plate.
Garnish with a few fresh onion sprouts for a final touch.
