Cool! Portugal is definitely on my bucket list!
I'm booked to stay at the Riu in Guancaste but I'm seriously thinking of changing to this hotel. Is this suitable for children?? My daughters will be 12 and 16 so I dont want a loud party hotel. Are there lots of excursions from hete?? I chose Guancaste becuase of the Eco centre next door. Do you know how far away is it from Planet Hollywood. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated
Hi! Thanks for tuning in :). This resort is family friendly. You can book excursions that pick up and return from the property via the concierge. in reference to the eco centre i am not sure where it is in relation to planet Hollywood. During our stay we didn’t experience any loud or obnoxious pool parties and there honestly wasn’t a heavy crowd at any point in the pool area. However please keep in mind we went at the end of February and beginning of march. The themed dinners are fun and family friendly i also know this property is next to the marina which you can tour if interested. They also show movies at night in the main building. Most of the evening events happen in that building but if you’re looking to keep quiet or turn in early, we didn’t experience anything tht prevented that atmosphere once in our rooms. I hope this helps.

Telling people to upgrade rooms to star class in the middle of a recession? isn't that just wrong and miss leading?

The food was phenomenal. The seafood was so fresh and my favorite restaurant was the Japanese restaurant with hibachi and suhsi. Because we had the star package we got to participate in the star package beach dinner which was all-you-can-eat of some of the best lobster I've had in quite some time.

Are there things to do around the hotel? We are planning a trip for a family of 5 and want to venture out between swimming and beach time. I've heard Gulf Shores does, but any ideas here? Great video btw!
Thank you for tuning in. We found quite a few family friendly restaurants along the strip that are accessible via car. Adventure land and Fat Daddy’s arcade is in close vicinity of this property as well. Less than 5 minutes driving.

Looks so nice, just the beach doesn't seem too good?
We loved the beach. It was never really crowded and it was our first time on a black sand beach. I will warn you in saying that the sand gets VERY HOT in the peak hours of the day so definitely bring your sandals.
