Troy and I went 7 miles offshore out from Boca Grande Pass, got into the sharks big time, caught a nice King Fish and a few days later went 14 miles out to School Bus reef and got a Grouper. We used Shimano Stradic’s, Saragosa and Daiwa BG, Saltist for fishing reels, and Gloomis and St.Criox for rods. The swing bridge I fish there all the time and catch big 30 to 40 pound flats! Lots of walleye during fall time aswell
It’s a good spot! I don’t fishing it much. If ya see me out there next year say hello! Mn river so under rated!
for some reason ive been itching for a good catfish bite instead of chasing the usual bass and found your channel :D
Nothing beats a good catfish bite! Hopefully you get on a good bite soon!
@@Iferenz I just went up to Cold Springs this morning with my brother and we boated 20 channel catfish bobber fishing. I have a new itch now, flathead catfish :D
@madam497 that’s awesome! 29 is a good day! Flatheads are tough but so fun! Live bait for flats heads work the best!
Nice tank but I don’t foresee shad staying alive too long in a square tank it’s never worked out for me anyhow
The corners are rounded some but they stay alive all day and night while on the water. Don’t really keep them for longer than a day, I don’t bring them home.
Nice video my friend 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you!!
Wild
Yeah first time I seen that happen… yikes!!
Nice set up! Great job. Filters are worth their weight in gold
Thank you! This works well, without filters shad don’t last long no doubt!
@@Iferenz Amen to that!
Brother I’ve been trying to catch this fish for so long
Flatheads are tough to catch sometimes, time on the water helps. Keep at it you will get one!
nice intro bro, great fishing too. Love pine island sound
Thanks buddy! Pine island is so magical, I love it too!
What is that app for the waves????
“Fishing points” I think it’s 20 or 30 bucks a year
@@Iferenzhow often do you guy go out??? Probably just when we get a nice calm window?
@adamblase4644 we are there every year for two weeks, if we can get offshore we go. we probably went offshore four times out of 10 days. One of those days the winds were like 9 to 12 miles an hour… it was too much. So yeah calm days and low waves, swells, and wind waves. All 3 kinda matter. The app is super helpful!
@@Iferenz awesome, I will definitely check the app out. We try to get out 2-3 times a week on a 25 foot boat we run usually 40-60 miles out at night or early morning
@adamblase4644 We are just learning so we have gone out 12 miles but it’s a 21 foot mako bay style boat, we gotta be picky on days. We want to go out far like you, we just need that perfect day with the boat Troy has.
I met you guys a little over a year ago. I was staying at my buddy's place which is right next to the house you rent on PI. Wanted to say hello. Also, what app is shown on the phone at the beginning of the video? Thanks, Bill
Hey Bill, I remember drooling over your boat! I’ll find out from Troy and let ya know what that app is and get back to ya asap, it worked pretty well for us and we used it everyday.
The app is called “fishing points”
Yep “fishing points” 20-30 bucks a year
@@Iferenz Thanks. Tight lines.
Those cobia were great fighters! Great job on the edits
So much fun wish we got one we could eat. I want to go back already!!
What is the 1" pipe glued to the bottom of the 6" pipe do?? Is there a hole or holes in the bottom of the pipe?? What is its purpose??
So it’s a 1 1/4 “ pipe, the bottom is sealed except where the pipe connects to the bottom. This allows dirty water to come up through the pipe and go over the filter thus cleaning the water allowing shad to live longer. Rewatch the video I have a shot of what the bottom of the 6 “ pipe looks like
What kind of rod holders are those?
Bee ready rod holders.
Great video! What rod was that?
Thank you! It’s a Ugly stik striper rod medium action 7’6”
10:25 so funny! pic, run I throw fish another pole going off
Yes very funny! You sent that shark back to the water! Then my rod got shredded… ugh! Can’t wait for more action like that!
18 days we will be there, cant wait to get out there and see what we find
I am so ready to get back there and live the dream for a few weeks!
Great job i have a couple of questions if you don't mind how does it work for removing scales if you had to build it again would you change anything I'm a fan thanks for sharing
Thank you! Yes it picks up scales and waste very well. If I could change anything and I will it would be that I would secure the 6 inch pipe better, it moves around with heavy waves. Also I would pick a cooler that seals better. When the boat rocks around sometime water comes out between the lid and the cooler. Other than that it works really well.
Thanks how about use some pvc pipe cut in stripes and attach the pieces to your pipe just under your lid and just above the lid sandwiching the lid so it can't move Thanks for sharing if you don't mind can I use your design
Absolutely use that design. That’s why I put a video up of it because It works so well. I like the pvc c idea you got. I have been using a cut a pool noodle to fit on the 6 inch pipe and sandwich it with the lid, works good, I want it to be better than good. It’s nice to be able to take it all apart and clean it, it gets filthy dirty so there is that to think about too. You are going to want to clean it out on the regular.
watching the snow fly, thinking about fishing in Florida...better go watch our videos again.....
Oh man this snow…. Sounds like it’s going to be a lot! Month in a half we will be livin the dream!
Good looking pancake.! Nice build also. Where did you buy your dannco venturi aerator. I couldnt find it. Thanks for your video. I wanna build me something.
Thank you! It’s a danco ventri aerator. I got it at bottomdwelllerstackle.com. It’s the 3/4 inch model.
You can use 1 cup of livestalk salt per 10 gallons of water and i forget the amount but a small amount of cheap coffee creamer to kill the foam. Hope that helps yall keep bait longer.
I have never heard of live stock salt.. I have heard of coffee creamer never tried it I’ll have to give it a try one of these times. Thanks for the tip!
What is the purpose of the salt? I’ve seen other videos that suggest using it too.
It helps keep them alive, believe it or not. It hardens the scales and conditions the water. 1 cup per 10-15 gallons.
That's what you call reel fishing. Awesome job guys.
Thanks! We are from Minnesota, it’s a long wait for our yearly trip, we can’t get enough of fishing the pine island sound.
Coming back and living life i forget how intense the battles were. That drag peeling, multple times we got doubles and triples going, total chaos, so epic. Now that were in the new year and getting closer to the next trip its getting exciting.
Can’t wait to do some off shore things, those sharks wore us down. So fun!
@@Iferenz yep not long. We will have a few things set up better than last year. Sabiki rig always ready to go, gaff, heading sensor. I didnt think it could get better but we always find ways.
Had to watch again, the water color is so pretty. Man....
Yes so pretty, especially at the end of the video when you caught that snook. I love that clear water!! I can’t wait to get back and do it again and again.
might be a dumb question? so the water comes from the bottom and pushes water out of the 1 inch pipe on top then filters through the filter you have set and then pushed back into the tank?
Yes the water just cycles in the tank(cooler) no need to bring in fresh water because of the filter keeps water clean.
What area? I can’t find fish.
This was inshore pine island in the mangroves in the spring time. Live bait with moving water seems to be the ticket. I have a video “Fishing pine island sound” with a sunset and me and my buddy Troy holding fish in the thumb nail where I give away spots.
Video is awesome, “let’s get into it” 😂❤
Always want to get into it! 🤣 Thanks for the love!!
Awesome video! Your channel looks really cool, can't wait to see more!! Just subbed too!👊
Thanks for the love!!!!
No problem, have a great day!!
Nice! Is the contest over now?
Thanks! The fish donkey tourney is over tonight at midnight… we gotta hit it hard next year!
sweet video, nice edits, total slayfest
Thanks buddy!
Hi capt which marker is that behind you? Great video Tight lines
Hey thanks!! I think it was mile marker 911, it was at the north end of jug creek shoal.
Your snook looks like a hadick in New Hampshire but they also look like a small cod
Yeah they all look a little similar to each other.
That's a nice setup. Solid information. Trying to set up a bait tank here at the house.
Thanks! I have used it a lot for two years now, I love fresh shad for bait, and this works awesome for keeping shad alive.
Great video. Love seeing those big Mangs coming in. I was going to head up that way after Ian last year but never made it. Good to see the fishing is doing well. I’m heading back down to Estero Bay next month for a while so will be hitting the water hard.
Thank you! I get to fish the salt once a year with my buddy. We did get into them really good, on a number of days. It didn’t seem like there was any less fish than the other years we went. Hope you get into them big time in Estero!
Good fishing my friend 🎣👍👍👍
Thank you, it was a fun day!
Chaos!
Winter is coming, we gotta get out!
@Iferenz let me know, we can get it on the calender. I need to burn some gas up in my boat
Some big catfish from Henderson to St. Peter the river is deeper and from Belle Plaine to Henderson fish for years....
I have fished there once caught some nice channels I’ll have to get back down there again soon. I did like the looks of the river that way.
Sick to see this vid pop up. Grew up in Lake Crystal and try to get home for a river night or two every year
Awesome river to fish lots of nice sized channels and flatheads
Wow! You can tell you’ve been doing this awhile! So awesome!
Haha thanks only been going fishing on this river for 30 years 🤟🏻
Awesome!
Thanks buddy!
So exciting when the pole bends! 🙌
Love seeing that pole bend!
Awesome video!
Thanks!
Awesome video!
Thanks buddy!
Thats awesome
Thanks!
That second to last one HIT HARD
They should be even bigger this season, i’m jealous.
It always looks like this before deer opener by my stand, then I never see any when I hunt, good ole public land.
@@Iferenz ah dang
Actually this is from this season, SPYPOINT flex camera.
Watching deer with a Stranger Things feel is good.
I thought it mixed well also
What size cooler are you using Ian?
It’s a 30 gallon or 120 quarts
Hi Ian, I having issue with gravity pull now not pulling enuff water. Pump suck water out too fast. Not enuff water. Did you have issue before?
Yes! I had to make the pipe letting the water in a bigger diameter. I started with a 3/4 inch pipe then I had to go bigger to a 1 inch pipe, this fixed the problem you stated of pump pumping faster than water coming in. So if you are using a 1/2 pump you need a 1 inch pipe or maybe 1 1/4 inch. Or the water level is not high enough in cooler. I bet it’s the size of the pipe letting in water.
I found out pvc too long inside 6 pvc pipe.. Cut short a bit water pull in. Thank you. I finally got on 30 qt cooler bait tank to work properly.
Glad you got it working right!!!
I am looking for about your product place lace me a messages . When I post this, I am looking for more Information on this thing in this Video how it run on have in boats hope can help me come pay lake or ponds
This is DIY not a product of mine. I am thinking of doing another video on it to better explain how I built it and how it works. Look for it in a few weeks. If you have a specific question on what materials used or how I built it I’ll be happy to try and help.
Is the lid insulated? If not drill holes spaced out and fill it with canned foam. This will help with the water temperature too. It's what I did on my livewell. Thanks for the video and nice work!
Hey thanks that’s a good idea! Yes the lid is insulated already though.
