Going awound in suckles!
Here's a tune I wrote for John some years back, a Blues. When I was a kid, he brought me old acoustic guitar and some Blues records, charting the course I would take ! “My Big Brother Blues” I remember big brother when I was a kid I tried to do everything like he did He was cool like Brando, when I was just 12 Refrain I know he's in Heaven but I miss him like Hell He had a hot rod Ford you had to push to start He was into Football, as well as art Later on as a man, he did a lot things well Refrain/ bridge It's easy to judge another man’s trail Most of the time, he spent in denial He was a teacher and he taught well Refrain Married twice and he fathered one He fought a live long battle that couldn't be won The bottle got to him and that's how he fell I know he's in Heaven but miss him like Hell c DH 2024
Love it!!
Looks like his name is Mr Furweth or Furseth. I can't tell if it's a w or an s on the door. Furseth is the only name that seems to be a real last name though. And coincidentally, it came up as a linked in link to a longtime bank officer, lol. 😂
This is the greatest thing I've ever seen.
Where's Kojak?
"You've got a long way to go. We'd like to help you get there." Gave me chills man. Things were so simpler back then. I'm not even old or American but I felt that.
wow. just saw video of Paul Williams telling this story. Absolute blowaway of an ad concept by Hal Riney. ... Yet , as Hal said, the bank pulled the ad after a month or two because the new customers it generated -- the whole intent of the campaign, to replace their dying-off old generation customers -- were not the kind of customers Crocker Bank wanted. The new generation could not provide collateral for bank loans. (I believe I first saw a Crocker Bank in Los Angeles in early 1980's. And if I am correct, later in that decades it became one of the first of those giant mergers forming a new coast-to-coast brand, "First Interstate Bank" with one of those "next generation" stylish logos. I think, as the name says, their branding emphasized ATMs and ATM networks across the country.)
Absolutely depicts an amazing time in my life, I'm balling my eyes outThat It ain't like that no more..
I have dignity and respect for myself and others because I know its of the best interest of the creator that's inside of me and I may not always show it but it's revealed in times. It's worth being assured of that strength that we need to survive.
The groom was my husband John. He went to the casting, and instead of helping set up, he was chosen as the groom, rather than the actor that had come with the crew. When he came home, he said, "Do you know what 'residuals' are?" As Dan wrote, the residual checks and the paycheck for the filming, changed our lives. We were able to buy land and build our home. I was pregnant at the time, so didn't see the production until it was on tv.
Hello, there from Brooklyn, N.Y. It must bring you such joy to see this commercial. Especially, when our country was for "Made in America" slogan.
I went to grade school & HighSchool with John. Also worked with John. He was a great guy and passed away way too soon. Hope you remember me Judy, your Daughter must be all grown up by now.
My grandmother is the older woman with half glasses in the group huddle next to older man with grey hair. Great memories!!
Wow.. who knew??
This should be the theme song of the first SpaceX Mars Mission

Nicki Minaj ain't got nothing on this
It's a masterful commercial. Very poignant. Back when American's still had optimism.
The Napoleon Dynamite of videos..
0:17 A Wi-hi-hi-hin-dow. The way she elongates a two syllable word for that long,......... Musical genius

I saw this on some random Twitch channel tonight showcasing Christian pop music of times gone and this was great.
I need to really stop taking Dan's music suggestions

Here for my annual viewing
Listen to her do it live on Tim Heidecker's Office Hours podcast Oct. 2022. Already posted. It's pretty great.
This woman is completely legendary to me. I find myself humming this song to myself hours after I've watched it. It's actually got a really good hook. She's complete gold.
Very DiffRent Strokes
She surely should be in Rock N' Roll hall of fame, if she's not, no one deserved it.
Jan Terri is the best thing out of Chicago in a long time.
I remember this when I was a little boy, I thought she was so beautiful, look at her eyes when she looks up to the preacher... so much hope and dreams ahead for them.. the song gave me so much anticipation to get older and start my life.
And natural beauty, not a ton of makeup.
I've always loved this song...gave me so much hope when I was so young.... a nice house, beautiful wife - some kids ...a great job...money in the bank, investments and a retirement plan. Just a dream...such a wonderful dream.
Underneath these costumes, the guys in this video look kinda hot. Santa and that elf.
Killed Croker Bank.
Would love to hear Slayer or Ministry cover this
Thanks Danny!

1970: I was 23, just discharged from the USAF after a four-year hitch, and newly married. When I heard/saw this commercial it was like Paul Williams wrote it for me. It is so cool to see it again - thank you TH-cam! When the Carpenters released their version later in 1970 it was one of those moments where you can remember where you were and what you were doing when you first heard it. Wonderful song
This is my favorite Christmas song
