The International Firestop Council (IFC) is a nonprofit association of manufacturers, distributors, installers, inspectors and other key stakeholders interested in passive fire protection materials and systems in North America and abroad. With over thirty years members' experience, a constant stream of innovation and over ten thousand tested systems, we are THE source of firestop expertise.
The IFC's mission is to promote the technology of fire and smoke containment in building construction through research, education, development of safety standards, testing, and code provision.

Successful IFC firestop training day for AHJs in Mexico City
Thanks to the Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social (STPS), to the Asociación Mexicana de Directores Responsables de Obra y Corresponsables (AMDROC) and the International Firestop Council (IFC) Latin American Chapter for this initiative that allowed to 180 government inspectors to understand why firestopping saves lives, protects and improves the performance of buildings.
We had the great presentations and discussions with the panelists and the STPS on the current challenges and possible solutions which will certainly contribute directly in raising the bar of life safety for individuals and properties in the norm NOM-002-STPS.
We are extremely motivated to continue bringing this initiative for the upcoming years and to contribute to generate a safe future.
