Hey I'm a Bose guy as well, check this channel you might be interested with. www.youtube.com/@WWeiss-nv5vz He owns a lot of Bose professional products and knows a lot ;) cheers !
It’s good but the EV Everse 8 has more headroom..had 4 S1 pro before, but the everse 8 is more flexible, has more power, more features specially feedback suppression, GeQ and para eq,
EV Everse 8 is way better than the S1 pro but if you're a Bose fan/guy like owning a couple of Bose noise cancelling headphones, a bunch of Bose Bluetooth speakers for years now and some s1 and sub1 and a Bose sound bar and sub you're definitely going nowhere but to use only Bose products that you trusted for years- just my POV,cheers!
Please i need one for evangelism..,🙏🇬🇭
I highly recommend the Bose S1 pro+. I’m sure you’ll love it too. hopefully you can buy one soon.
Hi there . That's not wise! The Bose unit has a smart input that recognizes what connector goes into it. TRS is line level...TS is guitar level and XLR is microphone level. What you are doing is sending a line level signal to Bose while it thinks it is receiving a mic signal. Line level through a mic preamp. Not Advisable. You could blow the preamp if a louder signal passed through your mixer . The xlr portion of the combo connector is for mic level signal.
hey, thanks for the comment. however, if you read the Bose S1 pro owners manual. it’s no different on how the recommend daisy chaining them, it goes XLR into input channel. 😎. I have been using this set up with them for over 5 years and no damage just amazing clean, and powerful sound.
@ hey your choice don’t get me wrong. The Bose manuals explain all that. I owned the L1 32 Pro as well . Same .inputs. Page 22 hints to it. Bose sucks at explaining this. Page 4 of 9 Point 5 iN the L1PRO Line manual explained it more thoroughly if you wish to look it up. Over the years people on line have commented on the level being to high with no headroom and noisy. On the Bose pages. Some of the Bose people didn’t even know why. That’s why. Maybe the older S1Pro had a different input. I own he newer S1Pro Plus now.
Shure SM58 Happy birthday! Great mic, just bought it. Thanks for the help @TheSoincSpectrum
I’m glad you found my videos and channel helpful. congrats on the new mic!
Great information! Great presentation!
Thank you
Question. Do i can still use Mixer even if i have only 1 s1 pro plus? Iplanning to buy a mixer to add more reverb on the microphone.
Yes, you can absolutely use an external mixer with just one Bose S1 pro+. Curious, what mixers are you considering? There are a few good ones out there with some great reverb effects.
Not even near to JBL arrays used in best concerts and live events
I agree, Bose is not the go to for large stage array systems. JBL and QSC seems to rule in that department.
@@ChrisP-ec6ud Jbl arrays are fairly wide spread, but Meyer D&B and L Acoustics seem to rule that department. Qsc and JBL seem to rule the point source and smaller venue systems.
Good to know
That is why they lost market and now focusing garbage plastic life style products
This is why there are so many different companies that make speakers, everyone will always have a different preference that works for them. For me, Bose sound is the best sounding for my needs, voice and gigs in general. I get so many compliments from my crowd. that’s what appeals to me and my gear. I have owned QSC and Yamaha pro speakers, I have so much respect for those companies and the tech they offer and have achieved so much success.
Thanks for an informative video breaking down Bose pro offerings, it was helpful
Glad you enjoyed the video! planning on making more tech/music gear company and product reviews!!
I can't find how many watts is pro+ What do think about that?
According to my research, most websites say 150 Watts and one website I found says 160 Watts. But what really matters is the SPL (Sound Pressure Levels) 103db and 109db peak. In real world use, these are loud and clear, depending on the situation and type of music you are playing, of course. Hope this helps. Any other questions, I’m happy to answer for you.
@@TheSonicSpectrum DId Electric guitar and vocal on s1 P+ can be louder than acoustic drums?

"NO HIGHs, NO LOWs; MUST BE BOSE!" 😊
"No highs , no lows means you can't afford BOSE"
@IAmKAZMO YEAH, YOU'RE RIGHT. I CANNOT AFFORD TO LISTEN TO THE CHEAP & PEASANT-LIKE SOUND OF IT. 🤣
Sorry, your envy is showing. The benefits of a Bose PA system, whether that be the L1, the F-series, or even these S1 Pro+ speakers, go far beyond just highs or lows. The ease of travel, and the ease of set up, make the life of a live performer so much better. Just as this gentleman said in this video, you may have louder better speakers in your own opinion, but the technology that is offered here elevates the positives to a superior location in the cosmos… Have a great rest of your week,
So you admit you've never even owned a BOSE Speaker ... I gotta screenshot this lol😅😂😊😊😅 @@hanamakoji

Hi, I am looking for a mic that I can sing and maybe use it for a pod cast or video's production. Which mic do you recommend to start up?
Hey, thanks for the question, If you want a great podcast mic without breaking the bank, check out the Shure MV7X Microphone, otherwise I do recommend the Beta 87C for LIVE and STUDIO. There are lot's of great choices out there and many options for almost ANY budget too! Let me know what you end up buying, I would love to know! Thanks man!
Thanks for the info! Great tips!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😎
Great video. With the tone match, once it is set, can you then manually alter it with the knows on the speaker, or will it disregard the manual changes and keep to the set EQ? Just wondered.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video. I feel I’m getting better at them the more I do them. To answer your question about the Tonematch modeling on the app. Yes, changing the knobs on a Bose S1 pro+ after setting the tone using the Bose app will change the sound.
@@TheSonicSpectrumThank you for the answer, that is good to know. I have decided on my mic now, the EV ND 76, it is cardioid which suits me and is a bit louder out of the box than the SM58. People rarely talk about this in mic reviews, but for someone like me who likes a hot mic on stage, and not have to turn my Bose up as loud, thus not getting feed back, it is a big factor. There is only little 'ol me, no sound guy or mixing desk. 😊
Interesting. I know the EV ND76 is a highly respected mic in the industry and also has been around for years. Thanks for sharing your real world experience with that mic and using it with the Bose S1 Pro+. I’m the same, no sound guy just me and my gear and over the years tweaked to get my sound the way I like it. Do you find the EV ND76 “smooth” for male vocals? sometimes “hot mics” can be harsh on some models/voices.
It sounded nice, good gain using the transmitter. Had tried the '96, but that was too bright and harsh. It is quite chic looking. Doing a show with it on Monday, I hope it is as good sounding as when I tested it at home 🤞🏻
Goodluck with your show Monday and the new mic. I would love to hear how it went. 😎👍🏻
Great video! Thank you!
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Hi, I used the SM58 today with the Bose S1Pro + set to it's EQ setting. I couldn't get it loud enough. I had it turned up to about 10 past 12 on channel 1. I was a bit worried to turn it up more. I actually pushed my voice because I couldn't hear that well. I might have to send the speakers back sad to say. I bought them because of the name and weight and to be wireless.
Hey glad to hear you got to try them both out at a gig. Unfortunately, the preamps plugging a Shure SM58 mic directly into the speaker the volume needs to be at 1-3 o clock on the dial to get good volume, this is normal for the Bose S1 Pro+. (The original S1 Pro you had to take it to almost full volume to get that sound high enough.) So they made an improvement on the Pro+ versions at least. Try turning the volume up to 1 or 2 or even 3 o clock on the dial. Don't be afraid, its normal. Another idea is to change your mic to the Shure Beta 58A, its a "hotter" mic, so you may get naturally more volume from it, but on "some" voices can be harsher, but still a great mic. I will work on some microphone comparisons on my channel, since i have the beta 58A too. its on my list of videos to make soon. Keep practicing with different volumes, its still a GREAT system and worth keeping in my opinion. But i understand your concerns with it right now.
Thank you so much for your great advice and getting back so quickly. The reason I tried the EV was because I knew it had high gain. But it was just too bright. So maybe I will look at the Shure you suggested. The funny thing is I have quite a loud voice and I like to sing out as I do Swing and Showtunes etc. So I like to hold the mic at least 6 inches from my mouth, unless I am singing very soft. So I get a bit confused as to what would be best for my voice. Cardioid or supercardiod or other. I hate kissing the mic. I am a performer so they have to see my face. Thanks again 😊 @TheSonicSpectrum
interesting you mentioned the EV, I had tried the Everse 8 when it came out and I found it harsh/bright for my vocals so I kept my Bose S1s. much smoother for live vocals at least in my opinion and experience. Before changing mics I would try increasing the volume to 2-4 o’clock on the Bose S1 Pro+. I’m sure it will give you the volume you need. Let me know how that works. I’m sure it will.
@TheSonicSpectrum Yeah, I thought about the Everse 8 too, along with many others, but decided if I had to change the volume etc, which I have to sometimes on the fly, it would have been trickier to do, as I seem to remember there is only one knob that you press for different settings. Today I did a small venue with the S1Pro+ and the SM58. I had the vol. at 1 o'clock and the track at 10 o'clock and it was fine, but a small room. I did for some reason have the treble down and the bass up, with the EQ setting. I don't know if the EQ settings override the settings on the speaker buttons, but I put them to zero and it sounded better. But that was a small room. I do wish there was a master volume on the S1Pro +. Is the Shure Beta 58a a supercardioid, and wouldn't that mean I would have to sing closer to the mic? I had been using a fairly cheap all-in-one system from Vonyx which came with a mic and built in mp3 player and remote! (just perfect). I could hold that mic well away from me and have the sound up really loud with no feedback. The drawback was the bass wasn't great and it was really heavy. If only a company would make a good quality version of what I had it would gave been a no brainer.
glad to hear your gig sounded better today. honestly, it’s just continuing to play with the EQ to find that perfect sound for you. don’t be afraid to go a little louder with these Bose S1s. I usually lower the bass settings on my mix to very low. since I can have a deep voice in certain tones. As far as the Beta 58a goes, yes it’s a supercardioid pattern. which may not be the best for those who don’t always sing right up and in front of the mic. there are other options too. however, that pattern can have better feedback rejection. I would say continue to play with various EQ and volume of the Bose S1 Pro + using the SM58 and see how you feel from there. practice makes perfect. especially with gear.
Did a gig today, the tracks sounded great and nice and loud and punchy. However, the sound of the mic, Shure SM58 wasn't. I couldn't get the sound loud enough. I had it turned up to about 10 past 12, which really should be loud enough. However, I had to hold the mic fairly close to my mouth which I hate and it just wasn't loud enough. I was frightened to turn it up too much for fear of it feeding back. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I want to be wireless, so don't want sound desks or wires. I am using the Bose transmitter.
Hey glad to hear you got to try them both out at a gig. Unfortunately, the preamps plugging a mic directly into the speaker the volume needs to be at 1-3pm on the dial to get good volume, this is normal for the Bose S1 Pro+. I hear buzzing and feedback noises from your system
Hey, sorry about that, it seems to be one of my XLR cables. I’m going to replace it. I was just too excited to wait to do this video. :)
I just bought one for Christmas but had to return it , the battery was lasting 6 hours then Bose mail a replacement battery only lasted 5 hours , and I’m not musician I use my S1 pro plus with an iPad just to listen to do different types of music an the volume at 10 11 just like you
Sorry to hear about your battery issues, that’s unfortunate and a little unusual. I haven’t experienced battery issues myself, the very few times it’s been on battery only, I use them mainly plugged in. I’m just more confident with it plugged in. other than the battery, did you like the sound of it? what did you think?
@ yes the sound is amazing hopefully the replacement gets here this week. I never had a problem with one of their products , i still have the original Bose Quite Comfort 1 headphones that was released like 20 years ago . I’m also thinking on buying a second s1 to have the pair . I bought the s1 pro using their trading program and I paid $500 , I tarded in one of their small micro speaker that I bought on Amazon around 3 years ago for like $60 and I have a second pair of those probably ext months I will do a second trade .
I absolutely love Bose!! They have such a sweet signature sound! this past Christmas I got myself another pair of S1s. I feel so blessed having 4 of them now. I guess at the end of the day electronics will always have a bug here and there. just part of the industry. but at least they are taking care of it and sending you a replacement. that’s great! Nice to hear the Bose headphones are still great from 20 years ago! wow!!!

These are great musical speakers in small packages; any worry about bass can be addressed with optional subs, and I agree if you really care about it have four speakers and subs then you won’t have any issues-That combo would actually sound better, more enveloping, a different and intriguing option compared to a couple of larger conventional speakers
Great comment and good points! The rooms I mainly play range from retirement homes to medium sized rooms so people upfront can enjoy it and even dance, but the tables at the back still enjoy but can still have a conversation. I never play any gigs that require me to blast people’s face off. Lol. But like you said, add a sub and your right, they become even more monstrous sound for more demanding environments/or bass heavy music.
@@TheSonicSpectrum sometimes it’s not clearly mentioned, but let’s be honest. These in stereo sound a hell of a lot more musical than the standard PA speakers..smoother as u say. And with four speakers, you’re in quadraphonic heaven! Only a small minority experiment with four speakers, which sounds incredible. And you’re not killing your middle age back lifting these, and you can have wireless! Using these, your music is gonna sound as good as it could possibly sound

Hey Chris’s this will be better than QSC k12.2
In my opinion, Yamaha DXR series and QSC K Series are both PRO level speaker boxes. You can't go wrong with either of these brands/models. Note, Yamaha gives you 7 year warranty and QSC is 6 years warranty. But honestly, both sound amazing, can't go wrong either way. They are both known for their loud, clear and RELIABLE sound!
@@TheSonicSpectrum Thanks. Only issue is Yamaha is hard to find and company don’t care much to help.
@@thomas9469 Not sure where you are located but i know many dealers that sell Yamaha products. So never came into an issue myself. Good luck in which ever speaker you decide on. :)
@@TheSonicSpectrum I’m from chicago but no store carry them to listen. I contacted regional sales manager left message no response. Also lot of sound guys I talk to don’t use Yamaha for main. If they do they use it for stage monitor. I like Yamaha tho . We had passive Yamahas at church. .. ..Thanks again.
I would NOT recommend using them stand alone for any events except very small ones or speech / acoustic duo type applications. I would certainly not attempt any "dancing" type event with 150 people in attendance with these at all, unless they are on top of a pair of subs (or unless you have a VERY good sounding hall and you can get them close to a boundary to increse low frequency response, and even then... They have very limited low frequency response, as they should, and as any 8'' top has. I owned a pair of the DXR8s for almost 12 years and just recently traded them in, but used them exclusively over my pair of DXS12 MKII subs, where they performed very well and got surprisingly loud, when high passed at 100hz. I will be curious to hear the new 1.75'' compression driver in the near future.
Hi Al! Thanks for your thoughts. I have followed your videos over the years. I had my dancers close To the speakers, a nice square size hall and no kidding the bass from these was incredible! It was pounding I had to turn bass down to 10 o clock on my mixer. So while I see the benefits of a sub, I personally don’t use them.
The 1.75” HF upgrade in the MII is a game changer. Hope you get a chance to review them on your channel soon. I also had the first generation. But the MII have such a clear, warm sound. Very happy with them so far. I hear the difference.
@@TheSonicSpectrum Thank you for your comments :) Some venues / spaces agree well with speakers and naturally amplify low frequencies, while others do othe exact opposite, so you likely had a very acoustically friendly room with maybe some closer boundaries? I have one venue where I play for older folks up on a stage, usually with my RCF ARt 310As or Yamaha DHR10s and, in this scenario, a pair of either of these speakers set center stage will work (I focus all sound on the crowd dancing in the center - so the folks on the sides can talk) and the stage naturally amplifes/ couples with thespeaker to amplify the low frequencies very noticeably so as to sound VERY full. Any other venue, where I might use these tops for the same amount of people, but up on stands, would require subs for optimum results, as low frequencies generally disappear once speakers are stand mounted. The main idea of subs if to hadnle all of the bass (100hz and below) so that your tops can focus mainly on mids and highs, and will now have MUCH MUCH MUCH more headrom as low frequencies require much more aplifier power and woofer excursion. I hope to try DXR MKII soon or those damn DZR tops I've been waiting years for... Serious production issues at Yamaha it seems. Those DZR10s over my DXS12 MKIIs would make an incredibly powerful, yet compact system for my bigger weddings :)
Hi Al, I agree tops alone are not for every venue. In my situation I wanted loud and bassy on dance floor while people around were at tables and able to chat. So it was a more focused type situation. Had 30-40 on the dacefloor. So worked well in this set up and venue for just my Yamaha tops. I’m still waiting for your Yamaha DZR review. Yes! I’ll keep an eye out for it.
@@TheSonicSpectrum Apparently, the DZR are still back-ordered for a few months at least, here in Canada anyway... I actually just purchased my dream speakers yesterday, Yorkville Elite EF12Ps. Baltic birch boxes, loaded with PREMIUM neodymium transducers and a 3'' compression driver. 2000$ a piece (plus taxes), and heavy, but compact and SO clear vocally - and with DEEP low frequencies as well. I wanted to purchase them, while I can still lift them! I will be 50 in less than 3 years... :(
Great review bro, make more
Thanks! More to come!
