I’ve quietly wanted a Stickybones for a long time! I saw it mainly advertised for stop-motion animation, but all I could see was the potential for helping my traditional art!! I also have a Bodykun and Bodychan! They’re *okay*… but Chan is so damn fragile… my first one’s arm snapped minutes out of the box! Kun can tolerate posing, but he’s also stiff. They’re so intensely gendered too, I much prefer the abstract-skeleton look!

u can give it a try. u dont have to spend money on it (we get about 7 free characters at the start as we progress with story 1 of them we get in the 4th nation story)... the story and quests are realy good and interesting. the lore of each nation is super awesome. u might like it... and theres ton of content. as a new player from the world and quests u can collect about 50k crystals if u 100% every map, quest & puzzle in the open world (excluding events). and joining this time around right before the july update is gonna be awesome, since we getting a free 4* and a free costume for the character (we do get free weapon\characters every other patch and costumes 2 times a year), plus an exclusive summer map with ton of events and fun stories gonna happen in july 16th\17th, and in end of august we gonna get a new nation expention in the game lore called natlan with dragons that are actully dinosaures which is so cool XD. give it a try at least for the summer if u feel bored. i also didnt wanna play it back in the day but i got convinced and i rly like it

Recently the owner of A9 Armatures recently posted a comparison of Stickybones to the A9 ranger and as a previous owner of the A9, all it did was inform me of this figures existence and now I’m really considering purchasing it.

Before I really got into Gouache I had the same struggles. Gouache is a tricky medium due to the chalk mixed into the pigment that kinda makes it a little unpredictable depending on the quality. For my experience blending Gouache with water is a bit of a forbidden technique- afaik blending with a middle tone is a better choice. Also after my experience tank-brushes are not really suited for gouache because the water in the bristles is hard to control. I do believe that your struggles might be enhanced by the brand you're using - I personally never have worked with Reeves a lot but I have been told that it's not exactly the best quality. If you get a chance to lay hands on the Schmincke Akademie Set plus a rich brown and a naples yellow for easier skin tones I think you might have a much smoother start into the medium :] but that's just my opinion! Be careful with the hand sets they sell...they aren't cat proof...one is now missing a index finger.

I actually prefer StickyBones as its made by animation vets of the industry. It can also be used for still frame animations as well as pose reference.

By the looks of it, IT LOOKS AWESOME. I might maybe get one. But Im not like super super good at drawing but I do draw. But I would definitely use stickybones for my stop motions and pictures.

Body-kun is not great at all. The range of poses is SOOOOO limited. My sentinel Miles Morales does a better job as a mannequin than the body-kun.

This is the size I was expecting one of these other types when I bought one , should of checked the size but when they came I was very dissappointed how small they were. These stickybones seem the ideal size.I was put off by the price but they have a sale that doesn't put me off so much.

Thanks for this. I have these markers but didn’t like how streaky they looked. Treating it like watercolors more than markers will help me get a smoother effect!

Hello, getting back into drawing and wanted to ask do you think as a beginner, a combination of sticky bones for poses and kun/chan combo for musculature would be a good idea?

Loved the video! 🙌🏼 In my opinion these are way better than the Body Kun figures. I have those as well as another brand and while they look cool, they simply do not hold up to the extreme posing and use you can get from Stickybones. I really enjoy using mine. Look forward to more of your videos!😃

The easy way, I start a hand with a *square* with four fingers on one side. Next, for a wrist, I add a *triangle* to the opposite side of a square. After that, you can pull out a thumb and a forearm. That's what I do in digital sculpting.

always thankful for tutorials like this, it is easy to follow along for a beginner like myself...i definitely need to work on drawing the hands, the ones i draw look really flat and I'd like to learn how to draw them in different forms and perspective :D (drawing the fingers is a nightmare, i need to learn how to draw those yet)
