I found that with a few of my own images too and had to go back into my editing software and just bring io the exposure a little. Ideally turn your screen brightness down by a dew clicks to simulate a darker photo and then do the edit. It is a bit odd. Some images shot on the same day are fine so really could just be a quality issue for such a cheap printer.

@ have you tried playing with the settings within the printer? Like maybe increasing brightness to +1 in picture settings?

Unfortunately this is a common issue, as all screen colours are different, and screens have backlight as well where paper doesn't have .

Chances are I dont have my aperture, iso or shutter speed correct which would be throwing out my exposure. Definitely the big challenge of shooting street manually! Settings for one shot might be completely wrong for the next.

Have fun! Its very interesting trying out the “film” build in settings. Im not convinced the one I use really captured the kodak gold feel but I do enjoy having it as an option to change up my shoot days

I always shoot RAW. I like the editing side of things.

I edit all my photos in Adobe Lightroom Classic. If I am on the go I will edit using Lightroom mobile version but thats on a rare occasion. There are some great alternatives such as Capture One and Affinity tho worth looking into before just going with the one I use. Each will do the job just in a slightly different way so try their trials before purchasing!

My personal thoughts are to keep the kit lens. Use it for about 3 months of consistent video and photography then look back on your favourite photos and video to see what focal lengths you use most commonly and then invest in faster aperture primes lenses for your top 2 focal lengths. Video is tricky because I feel a fast aperture zoom lens is always more versatile than a single prime but that comes down to preference which you will learn with the kit lens over the first 3 months.

I would start with the kit and get a wide angle lens later bc If you buy the kit the lens is only like 100$ I believe but buying it alone is 200$ so get the kit and choose a lens later based on your needs

No just the specific so if you need or want to explore other types then this is not the printer for you!

a6700 is leagues above the zv-e10 so if you can afford a lens to go with it you will be very happy.

Hand held its shaky even with the active stability turned on. Useable if you are walking smoothly and not running. Remember it will have a crop which can ruin any vlogging face shots unless you get a really wide lens to compensate.

It isnt ideal for such particular photography or recording. You can make it work but its def not going to be as easy as a better body that can take faster burst photos, shoot in tougher conditions etc... Id pair it with a 70 - 200 lens (making it roughly a 105mm - 300mm lens.

If its your first camera with interchangeable lenses then you wont be disappointed. Not having a view finder for photos will be annoying if you do mostly photography but video work as a starter you will really enjoy. Overall if you think you will be mainly a photographer then in time you will want to upgrade to something like the a6700 or a7cii(r) but if you are more a video worker you could look into following the zv-1 line or fx lines… if stuck in between evenly I personally love the a7iv or you could go bigger to the a7v or whatever is the newest camera in a year or 2 haha.

Im still learning to colour grade my footage so lots to learn! I have a feeling I need to get a better monitor to show proper colours and light in my footage.

@@felippedemarchi6734 Thanks. If I went the canon route I would have started with the R50 as well. I just happened to have a mentor who shot Sony so it made it easier to be working from the same system. I do love the straight out of camera colours of canon I must admit.

No I didnt use denoise for these photos. I have used it on some to see how it looks and I do like it for some shoots I do but I dont mind a bit of noise in my images honestly.

If I need to zoom in 100% (or more) for images to show the noise then Im pretty confident its not going to be an issue for viewers unless I print it up on a decent sized canvas. If I notice noise below 100% zoom it then comes down to do I think the noise adds to the image (kinda like old film grain) or do I need to learn from the shoot and adjust settings in that type of environment next time. Very subjective stuff isnt it haha

I think if you are planning to move to the Sony system and want to focus mostly on video with a small for factor and light photo capabilities then the Sony ZV-e10 is a good option but without know much about your work flow Id never flat out say its better for you. Your current camera can do a lot do just be sure the upgrade is because you find some kind of large lacking feature or features you need and that the move to a new system is important. I shoot manual. So my settings are always changing, since the ZV doesnt have many dials and switches I set my ISO to 100 when outside and 640 when inside. Aperture to 2.8 Shutter speed changed when needed

Thanks! The more I shoot street the more Im preferring primes. For me Im finding when I take my 24-70 out for example I am getting lost in my focal length options but a prime Im always picturing what the images could be based on the single focal length.

🤣 I love reflection shots so much now I am frequently looking at windows so Im sure Ive spooked someone. I have had workers or security come talk to me thinking Im photographing the inside of the building but once I show them the image and how its about the reflection they dont care.

@@troykentphotography I love those mini panic attacks you get when someone approaches you when you're out shooting. How do you try and stay in the zone? It's tough for me.

Just the DJI action 2 I want to upgrade to the action 4 tho for better night recording, this one doesnt hold up very well unfortunately

I love the a7c! I also have that as my full frame camera. In this video I used the Sony 35mm 1.8 (effectively a 52.5mm on the crop sensor)

This photo was actually taken a few months ago and honestly you are right. Since this photowalk Ive started either being more patient and actually waiting for the people to move entirely or brining my ND filter and tripod to get a more blurred image of people for movement or just to eliminate them altogether Not bossy at all thanks fir the feedback and advice 😁

Hey so a quick thing to think about is what you mostly do and what you WANT to do. If you are mostly photo and some video then look at the a7ii or a6400. If you are going mostly video get the zv-e10 and build up from there. Honestly tho the a7iii is a really all rounder camera and has a lot of improvements over the a7ii so Id even recommend saving up a little longer for a 2nd hand one of those if you are trying to upgrade to a faster system and making a jump to Sony. I have so many friends who are professional photographers still using the a7iii. Hope that helps!

What’s the best lenses to use for it?

I have a Polar Pro Circular Polarizer just to cut out glare on glass mostly but I dont always remember to adjust it which is something Im trying to to get better at.

I have been thinking about trying out recording in 4k on the DJI action 2.

Each time I go out I think “is this really going to be interesting” and each time I am surprised by how different the city looked that day. With or without a lens change.

Thats such a great story! I havent dropped this camera yet but I have full confidence in what Ive heard that it can really survive a journey. Did you end up taking it from your dad? Would love to see any photos of his or your own.

Its really fun. I honestly need to try my hardest not to get too sucked in because it can be a very costly hobby. Still the images that come back are really wonderful so Ill def be shooting more film on my personal adventures with loved ones.

If you want to get into video mostly than the zv-e10 is a great start. If you are more photo focused Id choose something else like the a6400. Assuming you are looking at a Sony camera that has interchangeable lenses and that you can buy brand new. (Nothing wrong with getting a first camera second hand and always worth considering)
