Can yu show me how yu set it up on flexideshner ? It will only let me cut a few at a time.
Only a few letters or words at a time?
When I cut the sheet after printing, it doesn't leave enough material behind the crop marks. When I set up the printed material to cut and the printer scans the marks, it runs out of media when trying to scan the back marks. Is there any way to add more media behind the print before cutting?
Thank you
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
Will this machine fit through a normal house door?
@@tonycordovatc Yes. Once it’s unpackaged. I believe it’s about 23 inches wide. In the US a door is about 30 inches wide.
@j.rabbitcrafts thank you so much
I still hate buying the bn2 20. I should have gone for Bn2 20A.
Don't let it stress you out. If the white ink is troublesome, you can use another magenta ink cartridge in its place. That'll essentially make it a 20A.
gracias
De nada. Gracias por su tiempo.
Do you have to change your perf cut settings to cut when you laminate? Can I use the same settings I use when I don't laminate?
Hello Veronica. Thanks for watching. Yes, you will have to increase the force when cutting through laminated vinyl, as opposed to vinyl alone. I suggest you run cutting tests on the blank space at the beginning of your prints.
Hello, I do have the bn2 20. with the white ink. Is there any chance I can compensate the RED in this printer? Because the color is not that vibrant like in the bn2 20a. Thank you !
Hello and thanks for watching. Are you experiencing issues with only red?
@@j.rabbitcrafts hello. Well, I wish I can have an email to send you to see .. there are white lines when the printer drop them prints when adding a new roll in the printer. Monstly Magenta is with white lines. The other ones looks ok.

Love this video but I am having a problem grouping. When I go back to my selection arrow it is moving my graphic but keeping the cut line in place so I can't group it.
Have you tried selecting the graphics and cut line, and then aligning them vertically and horizontally?
Thank you
@@SheWhoRemainz You’re welcome. Thanks for watching.
Simply set your PerfCutContour lines with an offset of -0.001, and you should be able to use PDF without issues. I use this method regularly. This problem has been around for 20 years and still persists because the developers are lazy. This is what someone told me.
Yes, that will work if you are not adding an offset or outline to the design in Flexi. If I want a white outline/border on my design, I usually just add it in Flexidesigner.
I found out versaworks has a 20 year old bug that if your perfcut lines are incomplete, add a perfcut line in flexidesigner and make it with an offset of -0.001.
Jrabbit how do you do contur cut then perf cut, don't you need to adjust your blade depth between cuts? Keep up the good work, I love your videos and am definitely sold on the roland bn2 20a.
Yes. Once you apply the contour cut and perf cut to your design, you will open up your file in VersaWorks and under "cut conditions" you will be able to adjust the contour settings and perf settings separately.
Jrabbit, got it thar makes sense. What I am not sure about is ...say you have a conture cut then you have a perf cut on top of that, do you pause the machine after it does conture cut to then physically adjust your blade a little deeper in the blade holder?
@@tonycalvetti2633 No need to pause the machine. The force value determines the depth of the cut. Just make sure you set up your blade in the holder correctly.
Great video and channel. Do you know if Flexi allows you to change the type of cut line on a per segment basis? So say if you have a circle that is set to perf cut, can you edit only the bottom half of that circle to be a contour cut?
Thanks, very helpful

for me, use a printer only to print... to cut I use a plotter. work will be faster
That is definitely faster.
Thanks for the video, you first export from flexi in a pdf format, then unload it into design studio?
Yes. It can be an eps file also.

Did you ever had a problem on longer jobs 10feet or so, for the media to kind of shift to the right or to the left. That’s a big problem if you have to laminate because when you put it back it won’t cut 100% on the cutting line.
I keep my jobs to about 5 feet. They are easier to work with since I don't have much space in my work area.
Thanks a lot for the info.
Glad it was helpful!

Hi J, I love your videos on Roland BN2, thank you for making them. It has helped me alot. Can you make a video about adding both a perf cut and a kiss cut to a sticker?
Hello and thank you. I’m glad they have been helpful. I certainly can make a video on that matter. I appreciate you watching.
Why does the ecosolvent ink i use look faded when I use copy paper?
If you are referring to an office printer 🖨️ :Try printing at the highest quality setting your printer has. You may also have an option to adjust the print density.
@@j.rabbitcrafts I have a converted ET-4850 to eco-solvent ink.
@@jasongreen809 Eco-solvent inks have different chemical formulations than standard inks ( pigment and dye). This can affect how the ink interacts with the paper. Eco-solvent ink requires media specifically designed to take that ink. Copy paper is not designed for eco-solvent inks.
The holographic one looks like it is printed with white ink, but I though you said you have only CMYK version, so how did you make it to come out this good?
Yes! Thank you for the compliment. I do have the BN2-20A. So when designing holographic stickers, if you want them to really pop, you have to go in understanding that whatever is white in your design will be the holographic vinyl. So you want to strategically use white. You don’t want to have too much of it either because then it’s just too bright and the design gets lost in the shininess.
Pricing jobs is a topic not a lot of people are willing to discuss!
Pricing is a complex subject. It really comes down to how much profit you want to make. Sometimes you have to sacrifice that margin in order to stay competitive or draw in a new and potentially long time customer. You most definitely don't want to lose money on a job.
Thanks for the video!
You're welcome.
Can yu tell me why Yu laminate ? I seen another video but she didn’t say anything about laminating anything lol 🤣
Absolutely. I’m actually going to make a video on that topic. I saw a post somewhere and they asked “Do you always have to laminate?” So I’ll be covering that. I appreciate all the questions and feedback.
@@j.rabbitcrafts Will look for that video. Thanks :
The contour setting doesn't change with the existing contour when you resize. Flexi remembers the last contour size setting, if you highlight the sticker artwork and add click the tickmark it will apply a 1" contour. adding a cut contour needs to be the last step made. I have stuffed up a lot of prints because I added a cutline and then made additional edits.
Yes, the contour cut should be applied last. I just wanted to point out that it needs to be accounted for when sizing your final design. It just takes a simple subtraction calculation to figure out the design size and outline/contour cut line width so that your final target dimension is achieved. Thank you for watching.

Good tip ;). I’m still waiting for the delivery of my BN2-20, do you have the version with white color or just CMYK?
Thank you. I have the CMYK version. Just a heads up, your Flexi activation code is in the small plastic bag that is taped to the large plastic cover your machine comes in. Many people have asked “Where’s my activation code?”
@@j.rabbitcrafts thanks, I should have the machine delivered, installed and I should be trained by the dealer technician so I hope they know ;). Are you happy with the machine so far? I have also ordered Graphtec FC9000-100 so I do not have to use the BN for cutting and it could just print most of the time.
@@MartinDoubek_ArnieX That’s good. The set up can be quite challenging. I’m super satisfied with my BN2-20A. It’s a great machine.
What a great idea! Thanks for the video
Thanks.
I was wondering how close can the stickers be to each other when you do perf cut? I never tried it with my BN. I only did contour cut.
I haven’t tested how close you can space them before it causes a problem. I set the spacing to 10mm, which is pretty close. If you’re cutting out nice shapes like circles or squares, then that should be fine. Just make sure you have your perf cut settings correct for material(s).
@@j.rabbitcrafts do you have a video on your perf cut settings?

Did you ever run into the issue with adding the cut line to a sticker on Flexi? I’m adding the line, and when I go to cut it’s not cutting all the way. It’s leaving portion of the sticker uncut and it’s very hard to go back and cut it manually. (Contour cut)
