      Sorry for the time to answer The ring locating pin Always faces the intake port side of the cylinder, this prevents the ring end from getting hung/snagged in the open exhaust port and causing destruction, as the ring end never enters the open intake port.

      Yes I agree, but it's what the customer is willing to pay for. In my shop I get quite a bit of the homeowner equipment as there is 3 full fledged shops within 12 miles of mine, so I get the overflow and the ones that they don't want to mess with or will cost too much to repair at their shops. Just how it is. But I do push the best quality the customer is willing to pay for.

    Thought I heard her hang on a little smiggin… tiny bit more lower Circuit screw open up a 1/8?… I just use the 1 and 1 and get the 2800 type idle you want and then slowly start pulling your throttle in and out and just got a decent adjustment so you get a nice little throttle response up…. Then you should get it into the log and when you are cutting and add some down Force and load up your engine!!! The sumbitch will garbal… then be clear and she’ll just screw down through the wood!!! They will use up that little extra additional fuel mixture that you are using to slightly flood your combustion chamber mixture and it’s actually retarding the engine’s ability to increase it’s rpm’s!!’ When you hit the magic spot where it’s at the perfect tune that two stroke will clear out and scream down through the logs!!! When you finish your cut and tap the throttle several times to blow air across your fins and blow some fuel mixture into your engine and let it cool down your piston!!! When you hit your throttle she will have the little blurbling back and can’t wind out to insanity!!!! Everyone needs and should take advantage of and be using a little tachometer… ,,, or just a little &14 bucks hours meter and tachometer that’s a up to 20K model and the most simple and cheap and only a two stroke version.,, no chance to move to a four stroke or anything version!!! the Amazon it eBay $12 hourmeter/20 K tachometer combos work fantastic and I’ve always found them within a couple hundred RPM’s of my high dollar model!!! You can just wrap it’s 2’ wire tails last 6 inches of wire around your spark plug lead 4-5 times and then adjust the high Circuit screw until you see 12,000 RPM’s and never worry about it again unless you hear the RPMs change !!!! For any reason you immediately hit the kill switch and investigate your possible problem!!! Possibly can save one if you just stop immediately!! I grab the carburetor cleaner spray can with the plastic tube for accuracy and with it just on idle… a little blast into your clutch drum area and your other side seals to check those then carburetor base and line’s!!! If you kill your engine… you have a air leak right there where you sprayed it!!!! After I just get a saw back together after doing a air leak repair… any and really I do them all… I’ll pop a little shot at both of them seals and carburetor base and impulse lines and basically just a little quick overall air leak testing session while it’s idling… when you shot an area and it dies or hiccups !!! That’s your air leak area.., then it’s a little soap water and the mity to see it exactly!!! I usta just block off my holes and use my adapted bike pump to blow 7psi through the spark plug hole and dunk everything down into a metal tub of water like checkin a tire!!! You see bubbles coming out!!!??? Where from!!!!?!? Make your tag and notes on the leak and grab your next one!! I can test 30 saw’s in and hour! LMFFAO!!! Awesome technique if you ever get a huge number of unknown units… I do my massive pressure separating test and work on the tight units first!!! It’s a fantastic sorting process!! And just seeing a pto side air leak on a pretty decent looking 372 or something.,, you can drill your holes and yank the seals and have it back together and running in a half hour for work!!! Hello!!! LMFFAO

    • @craigtimmons3468
      @craigtimmons3468 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This was only the bench tune, I will finish tune all saws in the wood with a tach before turning them loose. I have used the water can to find a known leak i can't see. As for setting rpm's i go by the manufacturer recommendations, so they will very. When tuning i look for the engine to settle right down to an idle without struggling or idling high (lean) .

    • @DaveyBlue32
      @DaveyBlue32 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s some seriously professional technical and professional level skills you’re using to not only take care of and maintain your equipment but in how you use it and get full advantage from knowing what you are doing with the equipment. I also stay around the manufacturers recommended information.,,I’m actually trying to stay tuned down below the top range of the rpm’s range and I prefer to be rich and 11,800… 11,500 …. In the hot summer we might go 12,400 or something to say clear…👍😀❤️🔥🎃📞

    I will grab several weighted Stihl filters because they are just 10 times better and only use the echo’s bulk line Black roll’s!!! I’ll clip the tank grommets off the Stihl fuel line and open the center with a round file and pull the echo bulk right through a bingo! $1.50 Stihl fuel line replacement not $13 bucks!!!! LMFFAO

    I am super super careful to never exceed the 7 pounds of both of those tests…Stihl said 1.5 bar or something like that and I remember that it is like a 7.5psi…. I’ve blown out some up 9-10 in the beginning and I was responding to my older buddy jimmy… if it’s weak enough to go then better now and he said that I was stupid because they didn’t go over 5 and the extra pressure was already in that 7.5… so a (7psi) pressure and vacuum is just perfect to test and not (Stress them). Your collection of those rubber blocks is just wicked!! I thought I was cool with some rubber glued on aluminum for my exhaust blocks!!! You definitely win the coolest kid in saw school with your block plates with the holes in them…. You could make a little jig with some little pipe pieces with their edges sharpened so you could stamp them out with a little press and have your little kit of block plate’s and I’d freaking buy a set to toss into my saw box!!! $20 bucks? Hell one top handle test and repair or a dead saw deal would be freaking awesome buddy!!! I grabbed the $100 dollar double bar nuts version several years ago I I’ve done 2 dozen tree removal jobs with it and topping and cleaning up and clearing out some woods areas…. Probably earned $80 grand on it’s own $100 bucks and a $75 dollar bar and chain combo… I had a new little Stihl combo that’s perfect.,,12”!!! It’s gotta be a super easy flopping back and forth when you are flppin’ her around!!!

    I saw in other comments you said that 5050 at best is the success rate with aftermarket carbs for this. Whats the success rate on reconditiining one that has methanol damage and getting it to work? Honest question. Can it be done? Is it worth it? Thanks. Take care.

    • @craigtimmons3468
      @craigtimmons3468 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly it really depends on how damaged the carb is, if you have a sonicator to clean the carb in then it's maybe a 50/50 shot, really depends on how much corrosion is in the passages. If you can clean and recover the oem carb that is the best bet but with the Ethanol gas we have today it generally a crap shoot as to whether it can be done. Success rate that I typically see is maybe 40% and with the low cost of the Chinese carbs it way easier to just replace them. If you choose this way I suggest using Amazon Prime so you have a return policy if you get a junk one

I would say the pulse line was also cracked then and I just missed it. I hate when that happens you know, makes me look bad. Like you Brother sometimes I fix it and send them on their way, but he wouldn't have anything to do with that and throwed a $20 bill down on the work bench and said let me know when you get that hose and I'lll bring it back, I said I definitely will and what he may not know is I definitely won't take any money to finish the job. 😏 Hope all is well your way.

    I know this is an old post but i was wondering how the saw works without the stuffers? I am working on a blown up 575xp and am trying to decide if I should I reinstall them or remove them for better oil lube to the bearings? Thanks in advance

    • @craigtimmons3468
      @craigtimmons3468 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This build is more than a build without stuffers This build was with a crank, rod and piston from a 575xp into the 576xp crankcase minus the stuffers with the biggest difference being the piston. So I can tell you it ran way better than my true 576 autotune did. I sold the saw to a buddy I use to work with several months after the build and he use to rave how the saw ran but I've not talked to him for a couple years now. As you I believe the bearings can be compromised if there's an issue with the plastic on the stuffers but this was not the reason I omitted them in my build. These series of saws had a known issue with the PTO side bearing failure and I believe it was due to poor lubrication.

      Ok, the translation is not very precise, So what I get is you want to enlarge (bore out) the 49mm cylinder to accept a 51mm piston correct? This CAN NOT be done as it will remove all the plating on the cylinder effectively making it a bare cylinder. There is a company that will replate your cylinder here in the US, But the cost will be way more than what a new piston/cylinder will cost. You will need to use a 51mm cylinder and piston to accomplish what you want to do. Make sure it is for the 575xp and not for the 576xp as they are different. Hope this is the information you were looking for.

    I had the same issue Craig. I pressed metric threaded knurled rivet nuts into the holes with a little touch of super glue. Super glue is fuel and oil resistant.. Worked great..

    @thecollectoronthecorner7061 1 second ago Just subscribed. I have a couple wild things and several other plastic Poulans. Never use those never will. I was at a auction and there was brand new looking wild thing in the plastic case. It looked like it had never been used. Wouldnt run. They tried to get $50. No takers. Kept going down. Finally I yelled $5. The Auctioneer shouted SOLD! Quick get his number before he changes his mind. Its piled up in a school bus with 50 other POS plastic chain saw's

    Horribly video. Doesn’t show where they go but then shows a different saw.

      Did you watch this video with your eyes closed or were you sleeping 😴? Not only do I provide a drawing of the line routing of Both versions, I clearly do show the routing in the video. For people like you who can't comprehend I use 2 different saws Because they are of different style series, but that's very hard for people with closed eyes such as yourself to see and recognize. So one last word of Advice, Take Your Head Out of Your Ass.
