Check out this 3 minute video documenting 25 years of riding. I ride out of pure love for the sport and i'm very average so don't expect anything crazy. This segment highlights my mini ramp skills and a little snippet of the history pertaining to the Washingtion Iowa bmx scene. I have TONS of footage from this era. I hope to put together a documentary style film at some point. mainly to distrib...

Did you ever solve the problem??
Yes, I installed a double pumper 600 cfm holley with a 50cc accelerator pump. The car has 256 rear gears ,stock stall, and a single plane intake. the avs 2 couldnt compensate for that. I tuned the double pumper with wideband 02 sensors behind each header. It's pretty nice.
That’s crazy 😂
Loving the Buick vids on your channel. After pulling my 455 for repairs. I have almost the same setup for my temporary 350 engine as far as cam and gearing as you. also looking to use a 200r4 trans. What intake is that? and does it have the PCV in the back of the intake like the factory intake? Also i found recurving the dizzy so i could have around 15-17 deg initial, and 34 full mechanical in at 2100. with around 38full in with adjustable vacuum can. "Still Points style". seemed to help me get my little 2 brl to run with this cam as it has almost to strong of signal. I have made a couple of videos on the airflow over my 71 GS if you want to take a look. Have a great one. cheers.
Thanks for checking out the page. The Sp3 intake manifold is made exclusively by TA performance. I have taken a break from tuning/working on the buick. I have gotten busy with other big projects but I love driving the old buick. Next up is the disc brake conversion.
Is this smooth enough to skate?!
Your backyard ramps look so fun

You can adjust your shift points with the transmission governor. There is a kit you can buy google it
I have a gold one like yours. The 350 is stone stock.

Nice video thanks. I'm in the process of tuning a dodge 383 with a similar cam and afr gauge. How much vacuum do you pull at idle? Are you able to get any vacuum advance. Atm I am bumping up my idle speed to around 900 to get 11-12" and some vacuum advance. Cheers!
I'm pulling around 13-14 at 750 rpm. You might have a bigger cam than me or you could have a vacuum leak. I have my vacuum advance hooked to my manifold port on my carb to bring in a little extra timing at idle. A little extra timing can cure a stumble but what I ultimately ended up doing was switching carbs. I have summit brand 600 cfm double pumper now. I couldn't get my 750 quick fuel to ever run right on this mild 350 . What carb are you running?
I have 230@.50, 290@.006, 110 lsa, and bigger valves 2.18 and 1.88". Right now running carter 625 cfm but still experimenting with some bigger holleys/ demon, edelbrock too. Cheers!
@@evanm3209 you need a bigger carb. A properly tuned double pumper is nice. Go with a 750 with changeable bleeds and idle jets. Proform makes one that's affordable. A 650 cfm would even be too small. In the upper rpm that 383 will be starving for air. What model carbs are you playing with? My cam is 220@50
Nice - Dano from v8 here. Stumbled across your channel.
nekkidhillbilly here lol
Its the ifr ,idle feed restrictor jets, they are to lean go up 6 jets, usually ifr are lean from the factory
I think your right about it having to do with the syncing with the battery. It looks like it's trying to sync then times out and starts refreshing again. Try disabling battery communication and see if that resolves the issue.
Your battery is full so it's jumping around matching your load. Turn your dryer on and you'll see it jump up. This isn't an issue, the power simply has no place to go.
Looks like this is due to varying load power, since the inverter is in zero export mode.
This is my second 15k. First one had to be swapped out due to a separate issue. However, the first inverter screen didn't freeze intermittently nor did the wattage jump around. I'm also dealing with the battery not syncing with the inverter. It will do okay in voltage mode but if I try to use percentage mode it gets out of whack very quickly. With the first 15k the battery worked perfectly in percentage mode. Thanks for the suggestion though. I posted this video so I could get opinions and suggestions for what might be causing these symptoms. I appreciate any help I can get.
I have seen some solark videos from their channel with intermittent freezing but not quite as drastic as mine. Solark said it's kind of normal...but that doesn't help explain the other issues I'm having.
WHAT SIZE is the engine?
350
That car needs 3.42 gears
Yes I agree. that's in the plans. I'm currently working on a 2004r overdrive for it.
Love it !!!
Way to tack the tachs!
just put a 800 cfm 1913 edelbrock in my setup and it runs really well right now, finally got some the the low end torque i was missing
What motor and what intake are you running?
@@reidkrabillbmx buick 350, cam in ta dual plane ,
Get it fixed? What was it?
Never could figure it out. I swapped to a different carb. No more stumble.
@@reidkrabillbmx what carb was it? I'm tuning my speed demon 650 right now. Almost got it! My ifr was 0.033" stock, but was rich. So I put it to 0.026", and then it would spike lean like yours, but worse (very light throttle. I bumped it up to 0.028" and its almost there. Going with 0.030", and a power valve from 5.5" to 6.5". We'll see what happens tomorrow.
@@jakefriesenjake quickfuel ss 750 cfm with annular boosters. Big ifr made a difference but was too rich at cruise. I have started to wonder if a metering block with more emulsion jets would have made a difference.
@@reidkrabillbmx more emulsion bleeds can make it more tunable, but most non race engines have some just blocked off. 5 bleeds I think is for way higher rpm, like 8500 or so. I went up to a 0.030" ifr, went to a 7.5" pv instead, iab 0.055", and Hsab 0.040". Pretty fat everywhere now, but does not lean stumble at all anymore. But if I slightly give it gas around 2000, it'll slowly go lean to around 15:1, but no stumble. If I add more throttle than that, it won't creap lean. Only thing now is I need to find the right pv. If I give it good amount of gas at 2000, it could ping 10:1 once I reach below 7.5". I think 6.5" is the ticket..... More tuning today.
What size avs2 is that?
650 cfm.
Why did you install the AFR gauge?
Fine tuning. Really great tuning tool.
Great tool for fine tuning
Did you install the 200r yet?
Been too busy to get the 2004r rebuilt.. I installed the afr to get my fuel curve just right.
@@reidkrabillbmx did you build the trans yourself or get it somewhere. I have a 70 skylark as well. Trying to put the same trans.
Dude.....you have a single plane intake SP3 which is for high rpm engines, a decent cam, and highway gears for the rear end!!!! Replace the intake with a T/A performance stage 1 intake, then change you rear end gears to a minimum of 3.42 ratio, and your Buick 350 will WAKE UP! have a look at my Buick 350 on my channel, I’ve done my homework my fellow Buick man
I actually switched to a 600 cfm double pumper recently and the single plane seems to really like the smaller carb. The weather is bad here so I haven't been able to fine tune but low speed drivability is greatly improved and pulls hard all the way through the rpm range. Gears, 2004r, and stall are in the future plans.
Mine does the same thing but worse.. gonna see if a holley makes a difference.
What motor are you working on? I just bought a quickfuel 750 cfm with annualar boosters but weather is super bad here so itll be a few weeks before I can try it out and post an update
@@reidkrabillbmx Just a stock spec crate 350. I put a Holley on and the bog seemed to not be as severe. The Edelbrock did everything else smoother though so I might end up using different jets/rods from the tuning kit. Seems to run rich.
Tuning kit along with the chart in your manual is super straight forward. But the kit will not come with a bigger accelerator pump nozzle. You'll have to buy those separately. They come in a 3 pack. You can also adjust the accelerator pump shot by adjusting what hole the lever is installed in. Try that first before any jetting. You probably need to put the accelerator pump nozzle lever in the bottom hole for a stock motor
Did the Holley work?
Have you changed the jetting?
Yes. And I'm running a stiffer accelerator pump spring, bigger nozzle, it ran best 3 stages rich. But still had horrible flat spot when punching it. Buick 350 likes a bigger carb than a chevy. Needs a double pumper for the single plane intake. Only a few guys are running the sp3 intake and we've all had the same problem. Double pumper was the cure.
Are you running a 650/750 or 800
Depends on the cam and such but most likely you should be running a 750 and go from there. My skylark runs a avs2 as well on a stock cam and intake adapter
@@jayslpstapes519 I'm running a 650 on a chevy 350...and my bog puts this guy's to shame. Several mechanics, forums, and videos later...still bogging.
@@zambino8763me n my pops are running the stock Buick block refreshened, everybody’s car is different and taking that every engine block is different the Chevy may need less carb to stop bogging so 550cfm or there abouts and or going from small to large adjustments first before digging internally for vacuum leaks
