You have cowboy with boots and name her cowgirl
Hi. Did they take 8-9 months to lay? I have 2 Midnight Majesty Marans that are 13 weeks old and was wondering how long before they start laying. Thx 😊
Many persimmon leaves just grow in an ugly curled shape, then straighten out as they fully develop. Don't be alarmed about how the new leaves look. Nice results, thanks for sharing!
Bolsitas de organza de 13x18 que las venden los chinos
Even a single marans is called a marans as Marans is where the they originated
Just wondering if you know how much powder this turned into? Thankyou
Can any breed of rooster breed with them ? Someone told me the other day some mixes are sterile from interbreeding. IDK
Where do you purchase your chicks from? They are beautiful....
From various places. We have actually hatching out our own for a while now, and have been happy with the outcome. 🙂 Thanks for asking
I really want some polish hens. ❤ they are absolutely beautiful. Thank you
They are fun! 🙂I'm sure you will be happy with your decision.
Hi, you're doing a great job. A quick question: Do you have to worry about protecting your Anne Yellow Raspberries from squirrels?
Adorable! I recently lost my only two hens to heatstroke, looking to get back into chicken owning
Negretta ,is the best producer, here in NJ. Why: Because does not sour or spoil, and is delicious in the same time. It is not loved as it should be, because ,it does not make huge size figs, but it makes it up ,in numbers and taste.
It looks great to me
I just started my chicken adventure! My Polish white crested is 3 months old and so cute!! Loved your video, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! I'm sure you will be happy with your decision to join the chicken club. 🙂
I have a huge Buff Orpington. He’s big dumb and blonde. I named him Bam-Bam
You need a lot more waters out there for those baby birds the big ones won’t let them have food or water😭😭
I just ordered some double gold from Stark Bros yesterday and then seen your vid today, perfect! What zone are you guys in?
That's great! We are in zone 6a and have JUST started eating our harvest of these a couple days ago. Love this time of year...and pretty sure you will also! ;-)
Great job on the videos do some more tasting when the time comes for ripe figs. CLBC is on my list to get.
Thank you. I'm sure you will like the CLBC! I think it has better resistant to the rain than Black Madeira KK.
Love your t-shirt!
Thank you! She's got a couple of them. :-)
Beautiful birds. I just got a 2 day old Sussex and can't wait to see her changes.
Thank you! You'll have to let us know how she turns out. I'm sure you will be happy! :-)
@Dad 2-4, You put manure on it... What kind of manure? Fresh, 2 years composted? I'm starting my first Yellow Raspberries tomorrow in Montréal!
It was from our chickens. We hot composted it, which just means we would add water and turn it about each week. Apparently some good stuff! ;-)
@@dad2-491 I don't know what I've done, I've killed 3 new plants: 1 yellow raspberry, 1 red raspberry and one blackberry plant. I think I overwatered them. They started to get yellow, from bottom to up. I've tried to remove them from soil, mixing dry soil + sand. It was already too late...
@@alexandrevaliquette3883 I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah, it almost sounds like they got too much water. Well, good news is, if you really want them for future harvests, you still have time to rebuy and restart. It's just a setback, not a defeat. :-)

So were they female
I honestly don't remember. Sorry...
Looking at their videos one ended up being male and the other was female
She's not fat she's feathered!
That's right. ;-) Thank you for the correction. :-)
I have two saphire gems one realy dark and one lote grey ..thelma and liouse
Perfect names! Just don't let them drive anywhere together. :-0
I love D’uccles
We absolutely do to! :-)
😂 I have a roo that looks exactly like cowboy. I named him Elvis because I thought they looked like bell-bottoms. They definitely have big personalities. Elvis gets jealous and he loves his tummy scratched. I walk him around holding him like a baby for his scratches. Yep, I'm that crazy chicken mom!
That's a perfect name! And yes...a crazy chicken mom you are! (P.S. - That's not a bad thing.) :-)
Her name is LadyBug
I have 2 out of 3 the one the sister is holding raccoons got a hold of mine but it was a rooster his name 2as blonde and the back and white I call her cheakers the other is stinky .
I'm going to plant Double Gold's they sound great per your recommendation! I think the bee was attracted to your blue shirt mistaking it for a flower. I have blue hat, and other bright colors of clothing/hats I wear in my garden & the bumble's and honey bees check me out harmlessly, even a hummingbird once 😆. When they realize I'm no flower 🌺they move on.
I think you'll be happy with them! :-)
👍🏽
I just got some double golds in the mail. And read here about the rain. I live in rainy Alaska. Will they not survive? Which ones do best in rain?
Where did you order them from?
I ordered mine from Stark Bros years ago. I'm not sure, but I don't see why they wouldn't produce for you. Just my 2 cents though. :-)
Thank you for this! Been trying to figure out what I have. Now I know.
Glad it helped!
We try to name our chickens but then they grow up and all look the same and then we can’t tell who’s who 😂
Haha. Yep, we've had that happen before too. 🙂
Very nice , do you have to winter protect these figs?
Thanks for the comment. I am in zone 6a, so yes, I have to winter protect these if I do not want to have die back. However, I did give them winter protection this year. So they will die to the ground and grow back in the summer. Hopefully I will still get some fruit,
Ty
Thanks, I've been having that same problem. I will give this a try.
It has worked great for us. It has never frozen up ever since we added this!
I just bought 6 chicks. They are so cute. I thought mine were 2 weeks old, but maybe not. The store I bought them from didn’t know. Mine aren’t as big as that 2 week old. Maybe mine are are more like 1 week old.
You will LOVE them! :-) We sure do!
Ameraucana are not Easter eggers they ONLY lay blue eggs. They are a for sure breed, Easter Eggers are cross breds.
Ameraucana can lay either green, blue, or simply brown eggs in some cases. Easter eggers are most likely to lay blue eggs, but green follows next in common, along with rare cases where other colors such as pink may even be found. It’s very difficult to tell the different between the two breeds if you do not know for sure if you crossbred it to an Easter egger.
@@ilovechickenss1 an easter is a cross bred of Ameraucana and a brown layer.
so these don't grow taller than 4 foot?
Possibly. Last year was the best that they have ever done so far. I believe they got a little over 4 feet, but not much. However there were SO many new shoots and fruit that we couldn't eat it all. So we ended up freezing some to make jam! I'm guessing with better soil conditions or a warmer climate, they could get larger. Just sharing my experience though,. Thanks for asking
Nice! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice, thanks for sharing.
My pleasure
Nice! Thanks for sharing.
Glad to
I love chicken’s with puffy heads such as those three
Same!
@@dad2-491 aw thank you
Could they handle a Wyoming winter? I have Buff Orpingtons and Barred Rocks and was considering Marans just for the dark eggs
I don't see why not. If your Barred rocks and Buff Orpingtons do well, I don't see why the Maran's wouldn't also do well. I agree that their darker egg color makes a great addition. Another great option (for darker eggs) would be French Copper Maran's. They are more expensive, but their eggs are even darker than the Mystic Maran's.
Mine get frostbite on their combs here in Colorado. You can put petroleum jelly on the comb to help protect it and the frostbite doesn’t end up killing the chickens or anything but something to consider
I'm building two 100 chicken coops this year, so excited to start selling some eggs and taking care of chicks every day!
Wow...bless you friend! Looks like you will have your hands full! 🙂But I'm sure you will enjoy the journey too! Let us know how it turns out!
Hey there, just curious how it worked during the winter time? Any problems with the door opening during cold after it was installed?
Thanks for the question! We have had freezing rain and snow already this year and...so far...we have not had any issues with the door opening and closing as it should...thankfully! 🙂 So ever since we added this, no issues!
I always get those confused with the jubilee Orpingtons. I love Speckled suspects!❤ 👮♀️
I have Double Gold and I think to remove it. Cuz in my region (Primorsky krai) rain ruins the berry. We have too much rain. Berries looses its shape. But Mara De Bois is very nice, not so big but so delicious and high frost resistance.
It's crazy how much climates affect different fruits. The most important thing about growing fruits / vegetables is knowing what does well in our climates. I wish OH has warmer weather for my fig trees, but then my cherry trees might not get the chill hours they need to fruit. So I've learned to just be happy with what I have. 🙂
Beautiful 😍
Good for breeding
