Jesse Marsch is the NEW favorite to manage South Korea?
Good game, with some promising moments. Looking forward to the next game!
You can only beat what's in front of you guys
Gotta play against Japan and see how it goes. Hong never played against a competitive team yet.
Away fixtures against Middle Eastern teams have always posed their challenges, even during the era of 양박쌍용. That said, I must say I’m rather pleased with the results so far. 홍명보 had faced a tough situation, with no chance to organize friendly matches or properly assess his squad, THX to the KFA. Even so, the record speaks for itself: five matches, four wins. Yes, there was that draw against Palestine, but I’m inclined to let that one slide. The first half against Kuwait was particularly riveting, with some truly eye-catching football on display. While Kuwait managed to score a stunner in the second half, our response was swift and decisive. All in all, there’s little to criticize here-a solid performance in my opinion.
Although Hong Myung-bo may not be qualified, he is competent.
Yes but Bae Junho is Korea's next super star. Also, we rediscovered Hwang In Beom

Isn't Lee Carsley Irish even though he was born in England?
@michaelwelch7462 you nailed it on the first goal. The mere presence of Lee Kang-in pulled the fullback up field and allowed Hwang In-beom to launch the pass down the right for the fullback run. In general, I think that this kind of setup can work for the qualifiers, but I don't see how can this be a sensible way to play against big teams. If the goal is to reach the round of 16, playing any of those strikers instead of a midfielder is going to leave the defence too exposed. Every time someone counters Korea, they find a lot of space. Let's be frank, Korea isn't good enough to dominite the ball against most of the teams they need to defeat if the want to get good results at the WC. To me it would make more sense to play a counter attacking style with Lee Kang-in as a shadow striker/creator and to use Son's runs behind. I don't see how any other striker could be at the required level. I have really high hopes for Yun Do-young, maybe in 1-2 years he could be ready, but I don't see it under the current coach and circumstances. The problem is that Korea never plays those teams, so they aren't ready when they face them. They can't play counter attacking football in the qualifiers because they're the favourite in all matchups. The KFA should realize it and try to organize some friendly with high level competition.
Moon Seon Min and Park Yong Woo certainly proved a lot of haters wrong, at least for this match
For Park Yongwoo, he did his enough imo. I have no personal qualms against him, but in the later stages of the qualifiers, we shouldn’t have him start. He’s still too vulnerable at times. We need to give Kwon Hyeokkyu a chance to play.
Lee Jae Sung w/ 2 goals. “Can we replace him” 😅
@@thomaskim2159 long term we're going to need to. It's not sustainable to play him 90 mins all the time at this point.
Already less than 2 years away from the WC. MyungBo is keeping his job till the WC. MongKyu should be ousted or at least should not run for yet another term.
This channel is fire! Really impressed with you guys’ insight. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching! We appreciate that compliment a lot!
34:37 I really want to understand that part as well in regard to Chung. He’s hearing all these negative remarks about him, and yet instead of making an effort to change or even resign, he just continues his job. Besides the money, how much pride does this guy have to have? Eventually he’s gonna get a reality check and it won’t end well for him. He might as well do it now while he still has “some” dignity.
Besides being money and power hungry i see absolutely no reason for anybody to keep at it like he has. It’s ridiculous, this man lacks any iota of self awareness
@@pjeung23 I think in all honesty, the dude is a psychopath or has psychopathic tendencies. Plus with the current social climate going on in Korea (New Jeans scandal, RIIZE controversy, Korean incels dominating the headlines) it’s not looking well if you’re Korean or a Korean supporter 🤦 😭

I hope this match with Jordan gave Hong Myung Bo (who has had a tendency to start confirmed players) an opportunity to see how the team can be transformed when letting young players like Bae Jun Ho and Oh Hyun Kyu play. They played like a hungry lion . There are a few names that I'd like to see play: Lee Han Bum, Hwang Moon Ki, Lee Young Jun, Yang Min Hyuk (he is not even on the roaster this time). The future of the KNT is very bright.
best knt young prospects? 1) 배준호 2) 이영준 3) 엄지성 4) 양민혁 5) 오현규
오현규 is truly a gem. Good dribbler, decent shot in him, tracking back and pressing when defending. Of course there’s plenty of room for improvement but definitely one of our best option. The tenacity this guy has is just 👌hoping for our players speedy recovery
We said this about Cho guesung but he decided that being sexy was more important to him🥲
Bae Junho, Oh Hyeonggyu, and Cho Yumin were the players of the match. Lee Kangin unfortunately couldn’t do much, but granted the defenders were all over him so he couldn’t do much. Overall, definitely one our best performances yet.
I've been wanting Bae Jun-Ho to start for the last 2 years, and be a squad player for the last 4 years or so. He was Korea's best player in the youth national teams. I wanted him over Yang Min-Hyeok as a Tottenham fan. Mostly because Yang hasn't really had any youth national caps, I don't know if it's because he wasn't good enough or what. And why isn't he in yesterday's squad?? I have so many questions for Son's "replacement" and his lack of caps. Guess I need to watch him in the k-league cus that's all he's ever done. I won't stand for the Hwang Hee-Chan slander though 😅 He should start everytime that he can. His quality is far too good to be left out. Wolves are shit, and you can't put that on him. Such a shame he is injured AGAIN, crazy....
The future frontline is very promising but the future backline is very concerning
Great debut appearance Charles! Bae Jun hoesque!!

A shame to hear. The Korean players are seemingly getting better and better, yet the governing body is lagging behind. Although, I'm not sure Gus Poyet or David Wagner would have been particularly good hires either!
0:42 How big/small a country is has nothing to do with whether massive business conglomerates run everything. The US Military filled the government with colonial bureaucrats, police and collaborators. They took the massive amounts of post-war US aid for themselves and became the entrenched corporate elite, and they shot or arrested anyone who thought otherwise. Corruption is all they know.
That man has a face that attracts my punches
Amazing work disseminating the context in English.
i don’t think it’s that corrupt cuz he probably was the best option. yes, people get referrals and recommendations from friends for jobs, but they still have to go thru the interview process to get hired. that’s the problem here

Im not sure why Hong is a villain here. He is an exceptional coach. By far the most credible domestic coach we have and its not close. KFA is corrupt but lets be real, i dont want foreign coaches that live in another country and dont take jobs seriously. We made that mistake. Hong should be given an opportunity to show what he can do. Stop making this political
Exceptional coach my ass. 0 football knowledge. Managers like Shin Tae Yong, Lee Jung Hyo are 1000000x tactically better.
@@retireby40_lalala ok mate. If you say so.
Whaaa... it was all on the past story I guess. Of course some of them was not into it. But when they reached sevral foreign coaches... some said they can stay in Kr with deep consideration like tax problem, and other stuffs. They said they want to get in that position with 1hr presentation video and over 50 page of PPT. Also one of them made a playeres list and made some SWOT stuff... You can rly say that...? He got his interview after all of these suddenes... He said that with his mouth. I can't understand what ur talkin about. Like... it sounds like pretty past story. However Hong. Did he prepared for the such things? Nah. What about his play. Suckes. Comparing with those foreign coaches who KFA dicussed about he is zero point no need to thinkin about. Hong easily make middle area into empty place. So otheres can easily came into and make situation hard to make a goal... KFA said he do not make U shape of style... but that's not true. He easily makem as a U shape. which means middle. the half area is empty. Also his goal making style... is pretty on the past... He just playing with nice players. OF course he got his positive way. But as he takes such a lot of bucks now... and he's ability between other coaches.... It was such a bad idea. KFA said other foreign coaches got that bad things this bad things~ BUT OUR CAPTIN HONG got this talent with a fancy words which was other coaches can do it as a base. I'm not talkin 'bout of his K-League career. It was great. Good for the home team and K-League. I'm just talkin about his now. National... ... he was failed before. Why do KFA needs to choose him. Make no sence. His Booze, his livin in the past, he got no idea with trending high quality of football knowledge... EVERY SPORTS is livin in scientific area. And trending knowledge is rly important to make team or player. And with two match with other country he was totally mess. He fucked. Now I'm lookin bout a congressional hearing. KFA's problem is getting out like a deep pocket. I guess quite interestin situation will comin out.

Man this is sad as a Korean; we have a really good generation of footballers right now in their prime or entering it, and we're wasting them because of some decrepit boomers. I feel like this situation is so analogous of Korean culture though. So much incompetence and at the highest levels. Makes me think of Yi Sun Shin getting stabbed in his back by his own government officials due to their unwillingness to admit weakness and fault.
It’s been reported that Yu In Chon, the Minister of Sports and Culture, won’t approve Chung’s fourth term if elected again. Idk if it’ll happen, but if so, it’s a start.
Disasterclass 😭
Hitting a prayer for Korean Football rn
sad thing is ,,, our qualification group is weak and our players are very talented so they'll qualify no matter what... which will lead to these clowns saying "see... we qualified!! RESULTS!!" and they'll keep their jobs and nothing will change. But thank you anyways for the prayers <3
If the KFA cared and knew Pochettino was available then that's corruption clear as day. I don't think there's a chance Poch would pick the US over Korea. Especially because of his relationship with Son.
I can't remember foreign coaches doing so well with the Korean national team, they need to produce better coaches themselves at some point.
@@michaeldunn4778 That's quite true, but that sort of development is completely being impeded at this point. Halfway decent coaches or even aspiring ones are hardly given chances or support. System is broken and rotten to the core. Plus... so much about the KFA is just so... outdated. To the point of Korean football's detriment.
@@michaeldunn4778 the 2002 run was with Hiddink, a Dutch manager. Their best run.
@@2apur That's true but Hiddink was an exception he also did well with Australia in 2006. Klinsmann most notable run was probably with the USA in 2014, that's it, the likes of him or Pocchetino are just football wanderers, even thought Pocchetino proved himself as a coach in the premier league, national teams are really different especially when the coach dosen't understand the culture of the team he's coaching.
Nah KFA was broke and had zero chance of appointing him. The US is paying 4times more than KFA's budget so no chance at all
That’s awesome u got to meet some of the players!
That is why Spurs will never be a big club, their fans have a local mentality. Arsenal fans embrace their fans worldwide. You guys chose a loser club. 😂😂😂
As a Korean, I sure Korea team will be defeated to Jordan and Iraq in October. They are awesome form now, whereas KFA is corrupt. I really hope Korea team will be reformed, thereby we want to watch interesting soccer game in Korea again.
The KFA must : - Jung Monggyu has to resign as he is not capable of reforms. - Hong Myungbo has to resign too, and the new head coach has to be nominated through a fair process. - Redefining the administration as the National Comittee for the reinforcement of the KNT has to regain its own independence and power. - Redefining the KFA priority as the Asian Cup organisation in 2031 and the win of the Asian Cup (such a shame that SK did not organize an Asian Cup since 1960 ). This is a most important matter. World Cup is great but to be realistic the Asian Cup should be the most important goal for the KFA. - Installing persons like Park Jisung, Lee Youngpyo, Park Jooho who experienced the high level football of Europe in terms of administration, team management, football level, youth policies... - Priority to Women football, transforming the WKL as a professionnal level League, incitation to create professionnal teams (maybe obliging K League 1 and K League 2 teams to have Women sections ). Installation of promotion and relegation system. - An emergency plan to raise the number of women youngster and adult football players (pro and amateur ) to 5000 into 10 years. - Priority to improve Women KNT conditions. - Terminating the new Cheonan KFA center.
Short answer if Hong stays: yes If he stays there is a genuine chance we don't make it to the WC. Even if we do, what makes you think he will do better than 2014? He hasn't changed one bit lmao
