I love this song so much, it’s one of my favorites! It falls in line of my dream for when I die which is to be eaten up by the earth again

I love how desperate the singer’s voice gets as the song goes on. It really adds to how eerie it is, as if things get worse and worse than you can imagine.

it's as if a bunch of frat boys nearly overdosed on DMT, then came out existentially awake and made a band

So when I was a kid we inherited some cockatiels from friend of the family. The previous owners were elderly and died. Well they knew how to whistled this song. That was years ago, the birds themselves have been dead for probably fifteen years, but as an adult I realized that whoever taught these birds to whistled that song while they lived with elderly people had a dark sense of humor. Now I'm wondering if it was a family member being mean or the elderly person who owned them doing it as a joke for their family and other elderly friends visiting.

I learned this during a boy scouts trip to balboa beach in 1975. This version is slightly different but better. Great job.

I think I remember a slightly different lyrics of this back in the day when i was a kid, it has been so many years ago, it takes me back, so nostalgic!! I remember back in the day, when I was a kid, reading the Scary Stories To The In The Dark books, I loved those books and still do!! It creeps me out and I love it! I love creepy things like this!!! It is so nostalgic!!! I want this song at my funeral!
