I personally prefer this version of the song over the studio version. It's still good but it's like he tried to make it sound as little like this version as he could. Kinda sad because I absolutely adore this.

SRO was not just one of the best records of the 00s, it’s one of the best Rock records on the past 1/4 century. But god damn the sound crew at the Fillmore need to be replaced. The levels are all way off. As in ‘is anyone even working the soundboard’ off. Ugh. Still, thx for the upload though! 👏✌️

The long season live/studio phenomenon of this century

The studio version is AMAZING but this live recording is always gonna be one of my favorite songs ever, PERIOD. The main thing that I was hoping for is that the album version would have the same level of frantic passion in the vocals, but it was a little more subdued which kinda bummed me out. He still sang it beautifully and with plenty of emotion, but the part in the live version where all the instrumentation falls away and it’s just him desperately belting out the words is my favorite part of the song. Was hoping he’d keep it the same way on the album but I understand that’s probably harder to replicate in the studio. Anyways I love both, I’ll just always be coming back to this one. Thank you for the upload, this will always be legendary and I’ll never forget hearing it live blind for the first time

Instantly came here after the release of the official version, I like this version a thousand times more... It's so perfect and much more emotional imo... I knew it was impossible to make something better than this haha literally one of the best songs of the decade. Will come here often I guess :)

Will be coming back to this often, Geordie's studio version is magnificent but it's its own thing. I truly think if this was what they/he had recorded, it would have been one of the greatest songs ever made.
