Hello • こんにちは • Hola • Привет • 你好 • Merhaba • გამარჯობა • سلام • Ciao
I'm Eduardo. Over the past 12 years, I’ve lived in 7 countries, visited 46 and learned 7 languages.
And while many think this is "cool", it has not always been what people imagine… Traveling can also be tiring & stressful, ESPECIALLY if you're broke.
Having believed in conventional wisdom for a long time, it took me over a decade to realize that I didn't have to choose between MONEY or TRAVEL.
Not to mention that I didn’t understand the power of sharing these experiences (beyond focusing on myself) in order to contribute & help you create your own INTERNATIONAL LIFE.
THAT'S what this channel is about.

The Truth Why Most Travelers Are BROKE | Eduardo Beltran
Basically you got there around 30 years old and realized: oohh life is not just work, work, work....sad 😅😅
I from curaçao was it fub
Extremely weird attitude towards work-life -balance. People should work less and do more stuff that makes them happy and enjoy life.
The dream of most locals in Curaçao is to work for the government, get permanent contract and look to be entertained rather than sacrifice. Religion also contributes to people being lazy. Why stress? We all will die one day anyway! Jesus will come to save us! Etc. Most people there haven’t traveled much either so they don’t know much..
Sound like you are stating they lazy. Same issue with all Caribbean Islands. I think it’s more of like the locals are not willing to stay up all night and work until 12 or 1am just so tourist can party. They prioritize mental health and normal sleep cycles. Eat healthy so that way they are not depending on government for medication and doctors for surgeries.
Big Facts
I actually enjoyed this video. Im from Curaçao myself, but I moved to the Netherlands 17 years ago. And yes, the locals have exactly that mentality you spoke about. It's a combination of laziness, the weather, and lack of education. Which saldy keep them in that viscous circle. Regardless, we are very kind ppl. ❤
Thank you for sharing and good luck on your journey!
About the word cure (curaçao). They used curacao as the main island to collect and distribite slaves in the caribbean. So the island was used to rest and heal (cure). I am a local. I work from monday till friday from 7.30 till 5. On saturday 7 till12. Most of the people have their ow houses and do not need to pay rent. Monthly rent for a nice 2 bedroom apt starts from 600$. Salary starts 1800 guulders (800 $). Middle class earns between 4000 and 5000 guilders ( around 2500 dollars) monthly. Their are 2 Local supermarket that has their own food corner where you can eat local and international food 15 guilders (8 $) for a meal. You have the plaza in punda (city) where you can buy local food for 12 $.. Local bars are cheaper then dutch tourists bars. I hope you got the look and feel of how locals live on the island. Remember to visit our beaches in banda bou❤
How do YOU answer when they ask? Do you just give them a number? 😂

If you're still struggling to memorize words, understand others and SPEAK confidently, this is for you... 1. I used the “F” word A LOT... and by that I mean fearless action, flexible, fun, focus, faith - which all leads to FLUENCY. 2. I avoided resources for 'learners'. There’s 2 types of language you can learn: fake/modified (which is based on making the non speaker understand) and real/preserved (which are actual things that people say, do, write, consume in the target language) 3. I kept track of every. single. word. that I came across in order to memorize it and learn it faster. And I did that by creating my own 'dictionary' from scratch. Try it and you'll see you'll retain so much more. Apply these secrets and let me know how it goes. Waiting for your comments below!!
Lmao, what a looser
Letting go is when flying gets fun 😅
Especially because of the non stop beeping sound that it does 😂
Bros doing his best not to be patriotic
Thanks I am leaving to head to curaçao Tom I needed that info

Google.
Hmmm I don't know I'm a local. Did you actually speak to a local? I will not give my opinion Thank you for visiting, it's appreciated!!!
Lol looks like a royal palm couch
Why do you talk about work so much? Not everyone is worker class.
Well said. What is weekend?
good subject keep up the good work
How the heck did you spend $52 for three baguettes and 3 teas? Not sure where you went but you got scalped.
Scalped is a soft word compared to how it felt 😂
@@EduardoBelme my wife and I went there for a week. Even though we stayed at an all inclusive, we shopped and ate off resort often. We only paid over $50USD total for dinner twice. That’s two full meals, and 1-2 drinks each. I would ask around the locals to see where the good places are next time.

Curious to know... which of these 7 mistakes will you work on in the future? 🧐
Thanks for sharing your experience, I don't know if you'll read this but I would like to see more about how you keep your business moving while traveling, because I think it's easy to fall into doing the least and not getting more clients for fear of not having enough free time.
Thanks for your comment. I'll share a video soon about how I work when moving around so you can benefit from that too :)
dude, we admire you because you are reaching your dreams, doing a lot of sacrifices like having to stay in $5.00 hostels jejejeje
The best place to keep your money safe is when it’s not in the bank.
Curious... What would you rather have instead? 1. Cash 2. Physical Gold 3. Bitcoin

This is exactly why you have to have 6 month savings.
Agree, having some savings for emergencies is crucial to minimize the risk (and impact) in these kind of situations!
