ABOUT Sanko represents the idea that one must take from the past what is good and bring it into the present in order to make positive progress through the benevolent use of knowledge. It can be represented by a bird with its head turned backwards tak

It's so similar with Ethiopian masinko. I enjoy this so much, I feel like dancing eskista to this music ❤❤❤❤
Nice
One string gourd fiddles are present all over West Africa. All are played by men except for the Tuareg Amzad which is played by women. One string fiddles with other type of bodies are present in East Africa. North of the Sahel region most fiddles have two strings like in Egypt or Marocco, called Rebabs. For more info check the book "Fiddling in West Africa" by Jaqueline Cogdell DjeDje.
We play this too in Ethiopia (except it is a diamond shape). It is called Masinko
The same instrument played in Eritrea too. What a small world!
Chira Wata right?
@@habeshawit2008 Correct!
I don't know what he's saying but i like how it sounds, i assume its an afro asiatic language? the atmosphere is very homely and warm wich i appreciate, anyways very nice song and an even nicer smile!
Ethiopia also has this type of instrument known as masinko so impressive 🫶🏾🫶🏾

Looking for African drumming and found this - love it!
Very impressive, Yoruba people have the same traditional violin and the name is similar too GOJE . I bet this is Hausa
This is "Dagbani" a northern Ghanaian language. The Gonje or Goje is a traditional instrument for a number of african tribes I believe, different variations of the instrument any way.
found a old comment
@@maawehtanga1220 Interesting. I can’t completely understand this beautiful tune, but he’s definitely using some Hausa words in it.
I'll be traveling to Ghana in Dec. Is there a way to contact this amazing gonje player? Will love to do a project with him.
